Do you think I can install it as long I don't have any mod that overhaul the same chapter ?

@ComeOnAndSam
That's a sign that you've got some other overhaul map mod installed. Sorry for the extreme delay.

Doesn't look like this is working, I got to Questionable Ethics and the grunt in the pod is nude, unlike in your screenshot.

@Cuttrogue
It's on the list.

Could you fix Agrunts blowing up instead of their cryo cells breaking?
The Mindful Moron 7 Dec, 2021 @ 1:52pm
One small nitpick. It might be better for the pacing if that second AGrunt (during the test chamber scene) took a little longer to spawn in. The original scene is a quiet introspective yet creepy moment that lingers on for a while, and that was the point. Having another AGrunt teleport in before the first one in the cell has even fully hit the ground kinda ruins that. I say wait at least a few seconds before spawning him in just to give the moment itself some breath, otherwise the player doesn't really get to even process that moment before they're immediately expected to drop everything and learn how to fight the game's most difficult standard enemy.

The reintroduction of a hostile Alien Grunt at the start is fun, especially since it gives you a good window of opportunity to safely observe its combat behavior before deciding if you'll fight it or scram- and if you choose the latter, the Grunt teleports right back out of there.

The Tau Cannon is given a much better chance to show off its power than in vanilla, and the upstairs fight between the HECU and bullsquids is made more like HL1 by using a mix of melee and ranged bullsquids- recreating the frantic chase of a marine by a hungry bullsquid.

The lobby fight is remixed to have more distinct waves, better using the whole arena. Be warned though, it's tougher.

However, the tesla coil in the chamber with the frozen agrunts currently kills them instead of freeing them- though this seems to be a bug that is known and will be fixed in time.

Also it seems that the Alien Grunts when being released from Stasis are also disintegrated with the tesla beam.

The security guard gets stuck in the hallway when transitioning maps.

later* not peter, whoever that is anyway.

Sounds great. Overall, I love the changes you're making, and the only chapters I haven't downloaded your versions of are Unforeseen Consequences (I like the peter Glock intro, but not so much the other changes) and On A Rail (I enjoy Uncut just a little too much). Otherwise, these are fantastic.

Gotta say I'm liking the improvements. Excited for Surface Tension and FaF especially.

@Why Are You Like This?
That's the plan. The normal agrunts behave like they're lobotomized, and the xen grunts are far more fun and challenging to fight on top of being easier to use. There may still be some appearances of the basic agrunt, but most grunts will be of the xen variety.
The Mindful Moron 27 Apr, 2021 @ 2:48pm
Just played it, and I am very pleasantly surprised to see the AGrunt using its upgraded AI. We only ever really got to fight the smart grunts twice in Xen, and one of those times we had a super weapon so it was hardly a fight. If future Classic maps keep that trend going, this is going to be one hell of a treat.

@XRGM1267 - Sound modifications are something I know very little about when it comes to Source, and given how painful they were to figure out in L4D2, I'm not really interested in making any for BMSC. Additionally, during normal gameplay, the dialogue in the control room sounds far more like it's coming from the gasmask grunt than it does the commander, and the commander's lips visibly aren't moving.

Even if he is actually the one talking according to the scene file, it doesn't look that way in-game under regular circumstances, so I've got no plans on changing it at this time.
XRGM1267 25 Apr, 2021 @ 9:19pm
No... That's actually the link to the file that I made that contains the sound file unfiltered line of the Human Grunt in the Launch Pad saying, "I didn't sign up for this s**t." That line and other unfiltered lines came from the previous versions of Black Mesa before 1.0. I provided it because it may save you time if you don't have the older version of Black Mesa. I ask of this because of the character changes on the launch pad in OAR Classic. I noclipped to hear the scripted sequence and heard that the commander was saying that line.

@XRGM1267
I don't like clicking random links, but what could this potential NPC bring to the game that's not covered by the 58686892929692 NPCs available in BM?
XRGM1267 24 Apr, 2021 @ 9:27am
Please do that and use this:
(Remove the spaces below)
"mega . nz /file/GfAlhYgQ#6B3_DRBiYtk0h-T7V_rnf9H5lgsRpR_Mf9_BFHU_TyA"
It's unfiltered line for the Human Commander. Besides, he doesn't wear a gasmask.

Partial changelog. Still working on making better patchnotes: https://pastebin.com/fzT0ayw9
The full game download will be updated after some bug fixes to on a rail.

Our goals for questionable ethics were to do something, anything, with map E, to restore the chapter's combat centric nature, clean it up and add much needed detail, and to make it not play at sub 100 FPS on modern machines. I believe we accomplished all of that.
