actually, I had dreamed a lot also about some "Kraken" that would attack sailors...

but I'm not working on map anymore atm
maybe in very distant future I will improve something (terrain on twin-islands, finally?),
but it's not very likely, sorry : /

sailing on big ships could be problematic to implement,
because of collison system,
frankly said, there is none,
I had many attempts to make functional naval map as there was none in "my times of CMW"
and after all I invented little trick with trigger volumes... that works not perfect but at least little, though it can't be used by ships of big size easily

you can swim anywhere "in the sea"
and sail anywhere "on the sea"

big ships are static
but in TO mode you can sail even on 1 big ship,
that is automated though.

You can directly connect using the console ingame by Pressing ''〜''.
If that doesnt work try the apostrophe key. On my keyboard it's one of the keys just to the left of Enter.

I agree with controls, but trigger volumes, they actually simulate collisons so that's reason why it is as it is.

It seems there won't be any updates for very long time, anyway have fun :).

though I'm busy with other things like CMW these days... but if you need just some advice on matinee or some ideas to help with... it shouldn't charge me that much, would be my honour to help with upcoming promissing naval mod :)...

Hi MiPu I just sent you a friend request^^ Nice MOD! I was tryng to build a naval sistem at the same time, maybe we can really collaborate! ( i had just published a mod with 2 pilotable ship with cannons, where you can try to sink the enemy team ship ) also if you had time i want to ask you few question about your ship movement method, my use matinee)

afaik you can't dowload items, you can just vote for them and then buy them in game... :Currency:

and for map or mod just subscribe and you can create your custom game with bots or listen server from game menu...

Hey ScorchingPheonix!,

Thanx for subscribe I hope you will have some fun with my map,

be sure to look straight forward when you enter TriggerVolume to steer a boat... this is not mentioned anywhere in tips, but you need to stand inside TriggerVolume + to look in direction you want to sail/rotate boat and then press E... some new players might get feeling of false inconsistency in control mechanism because of this and get discouraged from NW...

I agree with you with all points... terrain is stucky atm but will be replaced soon and then also drowning over time will have sense... all points about boats are true : /... I wanted to do it less awkward but this was maximum I could achieve... system when you can command one instruction only to boat at one moment is there, because of random teleports throughout whole map which did occured when you were allowed to go forward and rotate left at one moment... actulally the "hardest" work was to make it idiotproof so always only 1 player can be captain... it requires really a lot of patience and team work to steer boats but I couldn't do it better... though I am very very happy you liked it with friends despite all glitches and drawbacks :)

I was thinking of respawning boats also in past and was adviced to do so many times...
but I haven't implemented it yet bacuse I couldn't find a way how to detect if some other boat isn't parked on the parking dock of the boat that should respawn there... so i avoided this possible glitch of 2 boats overlapping on 1 coordinates by not allowing respawning boats...
but I could definitely reconsider this once again... maybe probability of this bug is nothing comparing to the possible boost of fun factor that respawning boats could bring...

Thanks very much for all support again :)... some things are already improved comapring to live version (pretty dated actually)... I have some other duties & occupation comapring to period of time when I was more actively working on this map... but when I update I would be endlessly honoured and happy if we could manage some test and I will be finishing and improving over time this when I can :)

but it used to be that way you need to subscribe map and then you can create your own game with custom map from menu in game... is it working already or do you need any further help? let me know...

Thanks for your submission, and we really appreciate your hard work on this ambitious project. I think scaling down this map could be beneficial to working out the kinks. A shorter distance to the objective, maybe less boats, or boats that eventually respawn after sinking or docking at the enemy's side could help give people more direction at first. This idea of people drowning over time is inventive, but maybe this map would be better served by an instantaneous water death at deeper ends. I know this is a lot of comments, but feel free to add me. Maybe we could give it another run, or you could see the map in action with 30-40 people. Once again, thanks, and hopefully Torn Banner will be drawn to this extensive and expansive undertaking.

We recently tried this map on the Fight Club server, and in terms of innovation and scale, this map is off the charts. However, there are a lot of areas to get stuck on, the objectives are not clearly marked and laid out, and the boats need a considerable amount of fine-tuning. Almost nobody made it to the first objective, because they were dumfounded by the ship system. Standing at the bow goes forward, yes, but you should allow either the person in the front to steer left and right independently or their teammates should be able to rotate the boat while it is in motion. Right now, it seems you can only do one or the other. Therefore, ship battles are a lot like parallel parking, reverse, turn, forward, turn, reverse, until you can finally jump over. Exciting, very sandboxy and fun regardless of the issues facing this project. Maybe rowing with oars would be a better idea, you would only need a left and right function, which could be used by two or more people to push the boat along.

It seems that on February/March 2015 should be some update(s)
and next batch of update(s) on summer holidays 2015...

If I had time, I will push it also sooner, but it doesn't look like so (so far) :D.

If anyone creates any pirate/naval mod suitable for this map
(including skinns, range wepns for all classes etc...)
just let me know :).
(One day I'd like to do sth like this myself, but I think I will be retired that time xD).

First plan was to finish it, till May 2014, later till June 2014, even later till September 2014...
no more ETAs anymore rather :D :D.

Quality standard of map is for me more important than just to rush it now at all costs
as I hope it will be one day timeless work of art,
so couple of months overtime is nothing comparing to that idea :).
