Obsolete for now, with the introduction of difficulty in the base game. I may update with higher difficulty if I find the new stuff to be too lenient.

Hello, I was wondering if this mod still works.:steammocking:
Swend  [author] 1 Feb @ 5:26am
@TheMuyu you have to start a new game, since the difficulty is chosen along with the other game options at the start.
TheMuyu 1 Feb @ 3:28am
Is this usable on current save or has to be start new game?
Swend  [author] 1 Dec, 2024 @ 7:58am
Oh alright. Well, you're best shot at compatibility is probably to remove the more minor stuff from this mod in common: 'character_interactions', 'schemes' and/or 'traits'. The other files are just additive. Good luck (:

Sorry, should have mentioned, I'm on the ATE dev team so I'm using the unreleased updated version of the mod (which is making good progress on public release)
Swend  [author] 1 Dec, 2024 @ 1:45am
@TomTheMedic After The End hasn't been updated for 1.13 or 1.14 yet. If you are rolling back to 1.12 this mod probably won't function.
TomTheMedic 30 Nov, 2024 @ 11:34pm
I am having an issue where, besides domain limit modifiers, none of the difficulty modifiers are applying to my game. Additionally, I am unable to select the Extreme difficulty from the regular menu, and I can only select it if I use an old save of my gamerules settings, although the effects no longer apply. I do play with other mods, namely After the End, but I have been using your mod for about a year now with no major issues, until just recently. I'm not sure what the problem might be, even after digging around in the code, so I wanted to ask for your help and see if you might have any insight on what I might need to do in order to play your mod again. Thank you.
Swend  [author] 30 Oct, 2024 @ 2:24am
@luqfire2016 I don't get that problem on my end. It could be a mod compatibility issue, but honestly I don't know how that would happen in that specific way. You could try starting a new game with only this mod enabled, and see if the same thing happen.
luqfire2016 29 Oct, 2024 @ 4:23pm
Did you get rid of the health debuff? It's not showing up in the difficulty modifiers or when I hover over the health icon. Might be an error on my end, but it was my favorite feature from the mod

they made new update 1.13.2
Luigi_ 29 Sep, 2024 @ 11:35am
v perhaps im illiterate, i just saw the "making personal version" after commenting..
Luigi_ 29 Sep, 2024 @ 11:34am
is it possible to get a version of this mod / seperate gamerule that affects AI only? i want a more bold and aggressive AI that fields better armies without nerfing myself, as i find it less fun
Swend  [author] 26 Sep, 2024 @ 1:45am
Ok, I've updated it to 1.13, please tell me if you run into any problems.
76561198123711201 25 Sep, 2024 @ 1:39pm
Hi love your mods but playing without it is really depressing
can you update it on 1.13? please <3 Thanks!
moondeyl 16 Apr, 2024 @ 2:27pm
Hello,
Does it work with latest version of ck3?
Swend  [author] 1 Nov, 2023 @ 8:58am
@Orpheus4100 Nope, the penalties apply only to your current player character.
Petorian 3 Oct, 2023 @ 11:37am
Does the health penalty affect your family too ?
AshDragon 18 Jun, 2023 @ 3:43am
my bad, it was a conflict with More Game Rules. Had to edit MGR a bit
AshDragon 17 Jun, 2023 @ 3:00am
extreme difficulty disabled atm?
Swend  [author] 14 May, 2023 @ 3:02pm
I have updated the mod to 1.9 so it works, but the balance might be a bit off for now.
Swend  [author] 11 May, 2023 @ 10:06am
Lots of game balance changes in the newest game update, so it will take a bit before I know what changes to make when updating this.
Swend  [author] 26 Mar, 2023 @ 5:23pm
@Emmortael No, you can't change game options after a game has started. You can try to look into editing save files, but that is probably not worth the effort.
Emmortael 26 Mar, 2023 @ 11:23am
is this save game compatible
Vilver 30 Dec, 2022 @ 7:56pm
good mod
Brett 5 Dec, 2022 @ 2:29am
Thanks for the mod! :Hire:
Swend  [author] 29 Nov, 2022 @ 11:39pm
@mirzor good to hear. I can't say for certain of course, but I don't know of any issues myself.
Mirzor 29 Nov, 2022 @ 9:51am
No, nothing noticeable so far. I just wanted to confirm that latest patches have not caused any unforeseen issues. Thanks for the mod, btw, much needed feature in the base game that is missing!
Swend  [author] 29 Nov, 2022 @ 6:47am
@mirzor have you run into any problems?
Mirzor 29 Nov, 2022 @ 6:16am
Hi, does this mod need updates or does it still work as intended?
Lucas182 5 Jun, 2022 @ 1:28pm
Thanks for including that guide at the end. Really makes this a must have mod. CK3 is just too damn easy for me, but now I'm going to buff the AI like crazy to see what happens
ㅋㅋㅋ 12 Apr, 2022 @ 2:34pm
very good mod thx
AleXxito 20 Mar, 2022 @ 4:01pm
What an amazing mod, this is probably one of the best mods I've ever played, I'm really grateful you made it, just one suggestion, maybe you could make the ai less likely to marriage the player, like it is very easy to make a strong marriage and just deafeat all of your enemies with your ally

Apart from that, amazing mod, keep going!
G.Strategos 11 Mar, 2022 @ 5:24am
@Swend
Hi, any updates for this ?
Cheers!
mechphoenix 21 Feb, 2022 @ 7:07am
Wow, thank you so much for developing this mod and updating so regularly! I have been looking for a mod exactly like this. Once you get to a certain army size in vanilla, hardly any of the wars feel risky anymore and none of the neighbors feel dangerous, so victories feel hollow. Looking forward to giving this a spin!
Swend  [author] 16 Feb, 2022 @ 2:02am
Alright, after playing for a bit since the new update I have updated the mod. See the 'Change Notes' tab. I have tentatively added some bonuses to the AI in a way I hope doesn't affect AI realms too much, please mention if you see anything off.
I removed levy modifiers from the player because those almost only had an effect at the beginning of the game.
Riaman 15 Feb, 2022 @ 3:57am
This is a bad approach, instead of nerfing the player you should buff the AI. Nonetheless all this can be done by More game rules core mods.
Swend  [author] 13 Feb, 2022 @ 3:12pm
That's perfectly fine, no problem :)
Philemon 13 Feb, 2022 @ 2:11pm
yeah i made my own version of this mod, ofc i gave credits!!! if there is any issue withme uploading my mod please tell me , i just thought maybe someone wants to have a choice in this regard
TheLoneWanderer 13 Feb, 2022 @ 7:32am
@destiny - all you need to do is edit the local files that this mod has on your hard drive; modify, add, remove different modifiers.

The cool thing is that you can adjust them at any point during a game as well
Philemon 13 Feb, 2022 @ 7:05am
well time for me to learn how to make my own version of this, since i want different modifiers, hope this is okey with you if i make my own version <3
orandasenbei 10 Feb, 2022 @ 5:22am
Thanks for confirming that it works with 1.5. I will play with it now and see for myself.
Swend  [author] 9 Feb, 2022 @ 7:12am
Seems to work fine with 1.5, please tell me if anyone runs into issues.
Swend  [author] 26 Aug, 2021 @ 9:29am
> -10% tax from vassals means tax*=0.9?
Yes. It should also mean they keep the bit you aren't getting. Like if a vassal would give you 5% of their income, they now give 4.5% instead.
> Does it work in multiplayer, if all players have installed?
It should, but I haven't tested it. As far as I know, the difficulty modifier is applied to all player characters in a game.
RAF 25 Aug, 2021 @ 6:11pm
Hi. Does it work in multiplayer, if all players have installed?
RAF 25 Aug, 2021 @ 6:08pm
-10% tax from vassals means tax*=0.9?
TheLoneWanderer 20 Jul, 2021 @ 2:11pm
Making the AI stronger could have a lot of unintended consequences over time. How would all of these modifications affect the AI choices, would game breaking balance issues be created, would the buffs make large realms too powerful? -making a change that only affects the player is far superior to introducing changes to the every AI realm.
Swend  [author] 16 Jul, 2021 @ 1:59am
@Uh1l Just in general. They have some slight modifiers to some hidden values used to check whether they want to go to war, and a lower cooldown as well, similar to how some traits do.
Uh1l 15 Jul, 2021 @ 5:24pm
I havn´t played with the mod too much, I have a question, AI is now more agressive only towards the player or even towards other AI´s?
Notthebeegees 8 Jul, 2021 @ 1:10am
Great mod, thanks. Don't listen to the bad ideas in the comments, debuffing the player is clearly a better solution than buffing every single one of the thousands of NPCs
