Hello! I have a strange bug with this mod, I want to play some custom battles but a lot of units are missing within factions, I got 10 units to choose for Rome... the greeks has all their roster but some them are missing. Sorry for my english I hope you understand

Battles take too long. Feels like I'm watching a slideshow of still images when it comes to actual combat. The map is too big. At times it feels like pop growth is too slow as well.

@Kalindraal We are making the mod WE devs want to play. We are making everything as performent as we can while not compromising on our goals. Remember this mod will be played years from now so we are not targeting yesterdays hardware, rather medium hardware today. It already runs very well as long as your got new gear.

I respect the want to make this mod for "modern hardware" as I have seen devs here say so often when responding to comments saying it doesn't run well, ect. I have a computer it can run very well on, but I also have a few others I like to use if for no other reason than I don't want to fire up the huge tank. I won't get into specs, they're fine. However, this mod does not run well at all on anything other than the big rig.

Turning the textures on the units and such up to 11 as it were, on a game like this...is like putting a v10 into a ford pinto, why do it? It's a remastered game, not a remake. It bit ridiculous if you ask me. Plenty of other mods offer a ton of cool features, factions and even their own flair on graphics without needing a significant amount of horsepower.

If absolutely nothing else, the number of settlements is absolutely unnecessary and just overwhelming. That all being said, this is in no way me dumping on the devs, what they've done is amazing, trust me lol.

@Holzy Siege units were removed a few versions back. You could try looking on moddb for an older version of the mod with them in. 👆

i figured out how to fix it to anybody wanting to know. I had the game running on multiple cpu cores and for some reason idk why it just don't work with this game. so i changed it in task manager to where i run the game on only one core and now no crashes since.

i got a wired connection and get almost 200 gb download. i tried this on an old pc of mine and it seems to work perfectly for some weird reason. i could load into saves and everything. i guess this game just is not for high quality pc.

@rickjamesthe3rd I’m no expert but if your your system is failing to synchronize it sounds like it might be an issue with internet connection. You could maybe try addressing that by getting some card board, stretching some foil over it and putting your modem on it.

idk why but i can play a campaign for 1 day real time and come back the next day real time and try to load into the same save and it will insta crash. ive tried everything. idk what to do. also everytime i try to launch the game it tries to sycronize to steam cloud and allways fails. any help would be appreciated.

@kjkern Don't think i've ever seen that problem mentioned here before. Have you never been able to launch the mod ? current or previous versions. Try 1st verifying Rome Remastered , 2nd try Unsubscribing and then re-subscribing to the mod. The mod is very big make sure you have enough drive space. Or try asking on their Discord 👆

Whenever I try to start the mod I am unable to get past the initial loading screen. I will wait for 10-15 minutes without starting and I will have to force close the game. Is this known problem? I apologize if it is.

Each soldier has their own experience in RR. The chevrons you see are just the average. If you lose experienced soldiers and retrain them, you may very well lose chevrons as you replace your experienced soldiers with recruits.

@Apple, hello... a player reminded me of a problem often encountered and I don't know if you have already been told about it... as you are working on the new MOD perhaps you could talk to your team about it....The subject is the impossibility in the more or less long term of keeping the military experience acquired for our armies which are (often) downgraded during upgrades after a fight (and this even in a city of the same level under construction as their city of origin) it often happened to me to go from 03 yellow stripes to 03 brown stripes and it is no longer the same thing in combat.

@jcoff316 ??? 1st problem never encountered and yet (believe me) I have played some with this mod..when I retrain the troops they always found the same number before combat...on the other hand it's true... sometimes... it's painful to have an army of veterans with three yellow stripes and to find them retrograde with three brown stripes (for example) even if they are "repaired" in another city with the same buildings... it changes everything in combat.

@American Super Soldier there were calls (several months ago) to be part of the team that is (currently) working on the release of the new MOD at the end of the year you seem to know about computers it may not be too late

A glitch I’ve noticed is whenever I retrain troops depleted in battle, they’ll revert back to the depleted number they were at before I retrained them in another battle. It sucks because their experience is nullified by lesser numbers

the displacement map is just too strong/low res too. I assume y'all know how to use QGIS since you somehow obtained such a high res projection in the first place. please either use a higher res displacement map, make it less strong, or ditch it altogether. note how vanilla and the original RTW use meshes for the campaign geometry.

again, something needs to be done about the campaign map textures, right now they are an eye sore to look at. the normal/bump maps are too harsh, and the sun angle ought to be changed. maybe I will figure out if I can replace them with the vanilla textures instead. kinda ruins the detailed settlements.

@]Blood Knight as far as I'm concerned I've never been able to go beyond 400 turns... moment (where) you start to manage your money, your armies and have fun in big battles... (believe me it's my favorite mod I've lost hours and hours of play with unrecoverable crashes)... so I'm impatiently waiting for their new end of year release... but I'm not starting a new game THE LEADER of this incredible team has stated that the majority of crashes will be resolved by having found the right balance between the number of factions, the enormous map, the interactions and the possibility "FINALLY" to conquer a large part of the world... so I'm waiting...

@blood knight i mean, the game will eventually crash after every round but it can take anywhere from 100 to a thoussand turns. so u can enjoy a campaign for a pretty long time until then

I came back after almost a year to start a new campaign...here is my experience

-stare into loading screen for 5-10 min tp launch the game than another 5-10 to launch the campaign
-play 2 turns then game freezes, between that and then reloading the campaign another 20 mins( freezing is propably a rome problem )
-play a battle , another 20 mins of loading screens and 5 mins of actual battle
- game sort of freezes during end turn but unfreezes later on
-autoresolve a battle where i outnumber the enemy more than 5 to 1.lose 2/3 of my army.
reload the game 5 - 10 min. of loding screens then playing the battle another 20 mins of loading before and after
-get attacked on the end turn another 15 min. of staring to a wallpaper
-game freezes up again on end turn but unfreezes again.
- attack an enemy general with my faction leader 1 hoplite and 1 javelin.Crushing defeat on autorelve
- play tha battle myself another 20 mins of loading ,

its been 3 hours and I am only at turn 5

@zef it's very much not dead but an update is far away as it's going to change a lot of things AND bring all the Remastered Romans, italians etc.
