i can't make any promises about updates, so for right now this mod is Temporarily Unsupported. one day I'll get a wild hair and fix it.

There's a bug that makes it so in REP+ enemies in challenge rooms/boss rush/Guideon don't spawn and are replaced by a question mark instead, softlocking you inside until you either use a command to leave or restart the run.

the reason that i gave the indicator that tiny little flash was to help visibility on later floors, but i admit it's an imperfect solution. one day i will sit down and puzzle it out; i'm also unhappy with how the indicator interacts with red key rooms.

The mod is useful most of the time, but on certain floors the indicator is basically invisible to the point I can't see it even if I get real close to my monitor and focus for a while.

Hey everybody! i am pretty pleased to see that this mod still works in repentance after all this time. i have noticed occasional little visual bugs, namely the question marks doubling up under certain circumstances. also, with the introduction of Red Key, the question mark will not appear on certain impossible walls, which feels a little like cheating to me.

if you use this mod and have noticed any problems, or would like to see any simple changes, please comment and i will see if i can tidy them up. thanks, i love you

the question mark doesn't appear on every secret room, it only appears where a secret room entrance MIGHT be. it's mainly to help prevent wasting bombs in large rooms.

for some reason when I enter a room without enemies the question mark appears in front of the door and not on any of the walls

OK I see what you mean. Also I didn't realize that it only shows up on CLEARED rooms, which is better.

the current level of animation is kind of a compromise. if i make it much less visible, it is very difficult to see on some of the more visually complicated floors, like Dross. it's why it has that little flash in the animation.

I was wondering: would it be possible to create a variant of this mod which actually labels the secret room (not the potential locations for it) with a VERY subtle crack sprite? I would love to see a mod like this so secret rooms aren't exclusive to super experienced players and luckily having some items.

i am going to try to make it so it only appears in large rooms and hallways. i believe this will also take care of the devil/angel bug. if anyone knows anything about lua hmu

As of right now and for the foreseeable, the mod is functionally unchanged from the original. Only the animation is different. So it should be every room, unless it is impossible for a secret room to spawn there.

Does this mod ONLY show these questionmarks in L rooms and big rooms? IIRC, the mod this is based on shows a pentagram in every room, right?

with regard to the devil angel room bug, i am going to actually learn how to code in order to fix that one. i will try to take a look at it but it's kind of above my knowledge level

ok, due to popular demand, i have added a tiny little flash at the end of the animation to improve visibility. i really, really want it to be as subtle as possible and i think this is a good solution. feedback is welcome

I haven't been able to see it at all on flooded caves. It's there, but I legitimately was thinking the mod was broken on this floor

Minor bug - when you get the angel or devil room in Greed mode, the question mark shows up over it. I don't think there can ever be a secret room in that space anyway (though, to be fair, I also don't know if you can hard-code exceptions or anything).

I really like your question mark (better than the pentagram) ... however, I find that it is too faint for me to quickly see. Is there a way to darken or make it stand out more?

Ah thanks for fixing it overriding black powder. Did you also make it more noticable on the womb? It's there but it's really hard to notice and I'm not sure if that's due to the overlay or how transparent the sprite is.

Also it's super faint by design. I could make it less transparent if people want that, but I like it to be just barely there.

Okay, so I learned that the original mod was a pentagram because it replaces the pentagram from spin to win. So when I got it with this mod it replaces the pentagram with a question mark lol.

I drew a cracked wall graphic and was planning on editing HeliOS' code to have the crack appear on entering the room rather than when you clear the room, but I am complete ass at coding and couldn't get it to work
