Ohhh Kalisa,

Since the release of the Boron dlc, i would no longer say this is not possible. (As already mentioned in May). I haven't tested it yet but i think there are new ways to accomplish this now.

But as always: my time and competence (and thus even more time needed) are limited. And at the moment I just don't get around to modding.
But if someone wants to contribute something, just feel free to contact me.

its a shame u cant tie this to a project after completing of a story, either the destruction of the yaki, or clearing the xenon to the yaki and letting them trade with other factions. Would love some kinda mega engineering project we supply resources to for the highway to be built, but i figure that would be extreamly complicated.

Okay, I'll test it out. So far I'm a little hesitant with installing this mod before I have secured the exit (and future entry) in Savage Spur 2 / Grausamer Vorstoss 2. I think if I open it up now it will fuel the economy in Grausamer Vorstoss 1, especially the warfs.

In regards to Nexus: I understand your hesitation. I just wanted to throw it out there because I think your neat little QoL mod deserves more attention, and I know a lot of people still use Nexus.

You surely mean the mission of Dal, in which you have to clean up the Xenon sectors? I can't say for sure because I've never tested it. But it shouldn't (tm) be a problem as long as you have completely finished the previous story.
In general, though, it's safer to save and backup your saves first. :)

Regarding Nexus Mods: Maybe. Another platform to maintain then...

Hey, thank you for this great mod: It was just what I was searching for! I was fumbling around with a jump drive mod before, but this is much better!

Question in regards to your warning: does this only include the main Yaki plot or also the follow up by Dal Busta?

On another note, could you maybe also add this mod to Nexus Mods?

I will try Egosofts way. They build the different gates and destroy them via md. If it works, i will try to connect it with the end of the Terran / Yaki plot. Can't promise anything.

Maybe. Don't know yet. And only, if I get the other thing working. It's really a lot of fun. But unfortunately there is too much to do and I have far too little time.

Well as new DLC added a building highway quest maybe it can be made as a quest now?
Probably wont use this for now as I dont have station close by that could use it, maybe in the futur

The mod is very cool, unfortunately adding a return way not solve the problem of lack of buyers if you build a base there. Maybe you can make another gate mod from the Savage's Spur to The Reach or Argon Prime? :)

is there a way to put the gates in but have them disabled until the quests complete. I think it would be fitting to the story to have it open after the Xenon are cleared out.

Funny Fact. In the sector description of Savage Spur the question is asked why there is no debry to be found of the second super highway at all. Like Egosoft knew very well that this actually is kind of a plothole. (Because if the Yaki dismantled it on purpose why cant they rebuild it...and Xenon would not do such a thing either because it makes little sense for them to nerf their economic effectivness during the time the gates where shut down). PS: Thank you for the mod will try it out as soon as I finished all related plots in my current playthrough.

You assume that correctly. As far as I can tell so far. See also my answer to martingolding96 below. Unfortunately, I have not found a function to activate Super Highway entries and exits by event. With gates I would know how, but here unfortunately not.

the dream would be to have this as a questline, decision, or research to rebuild this after plot was compleated, but i assume just adding or removing this mid save is fine then?

Not even a one-way highway will protect Yaki. The heavy Teranian occupying forces pass through the upper sectors belonging to the Xenons like a knife through butter. Yakis are regularly destroyed within 20 hours of the start of the game. (This will happen much sooner if you visit these peripheral sectors very early). Subsequently, if you want to fulfill this Yaki story later, a replacement Yaki station is generated. This usually happens when playing without game modifications. (in this case vanilla is poorly set and ill-conceived)

Yeah this was meant to be a One-Way Gate...this Mod breaks the very intent of the whole setup

Not having the second highway actually protects the Yaki in Savage Spur I from direct Terran attacks. Without it the Intervention Fleets have to take the long way around. So yeah, use this mod only if you already finished the Yaki plot and/or want to claim both sectors for yourself.

Egosoft intentionally placed only one super highway lane between the Savage Spur sectors. Opening a second lane will cause problems later in the Terran plot. This mod needs a warning to let people know to not use it if they are doing a story playthrough.

In fact this is not a bug. But some heretic people might want to add the second Super Highway.
