Oh yeah, he also has a bug where his hurtbox gets misaligned when doing a star-powered neutral special after hitting neutral air. Thought I should also point that out.

- His star mechanic is unique and I love it, though I feel like the timing of inputting both attack and special at the same time to use a star is too strict being frame perfect, so maybe increasing the input window to be 3-5 frames would help that a whole lot.

Overall an amazing character that needs some minor tweaks, but he's really good and I thank you for making him playable in rivals. :)

After playing him a bit, here's my overall opinion on what can be changed about it (I know it hasn't been updated since 2023 but hey, a man can dream):

- With his buffed up aerials giving him access to some insanely good combo game, it makes sense for him to no longer have armor and still have a bad recovery, so people complaining about that are probably people who mash smash attacks in smash bros
- Down special is a good idea in theory, but pretty awful and situational in practice. Maybe giving him additional invincibility frames on a successful spotdodge so multihit's and lingering hitboxes don't hit him even if it was technically dodge. The extra invincibility frames would also let him be able to do his flurry of punches counterattack much easier, since it feels near impossible to do mid-match.

I wish when little mac had the stars, and you did the button combo to use the stars for down Special, you would turn into giga mac. that would be a fun easter egg imo

I wish his tech from smash was in this game. On the surface he looks like a near perfect copy other than his grabs being gone (they’re good for the occasional mixup but not too sad about it being gone) and the change from meter to the stars but playing him just felt so off. Why’d they take the super armor away from the smash attacks? Why can’t I slide cancel into ftilt? Why’d they give him a dodge instead of keeping his counter? Why can’t I air stall with dtilt and then use up special for the special added height it brings? It just feels like they nerfed him just for the sake of it without actually knowing what made him great in the first place

USpecial is busted because of the sympathy between both Uair and USpecial. But I do love using a 2 star punch to have that insane air mobility to kill my offstage opponent from the other side of the stage.

For anyone confused by the star mechanic: When you have stars, press Attack + Special at the same time to do a KO Punch, burning all the stars you've built up in the process.

Down B is basically a nerf for a character that doesn't need it.
The stars... The stars are not great either. True to his roots in the Wii game, but doesn't work for him at all in a fighter like this.

Kinda bit sad he doesn't have Super Armor on his Smash Attacks, I mean ofc I'm happy that he's good now and finally viable, but I wanted a VIABLE Mac that was also true to his Smash gameplay :(, oh well and oh that aside his aerials' landing lags feel a bit way too clunky but other than that he's great and oh like zarafiq said I think he's way too small lol, it feels off, obviously making him bigger would require to adjust his hitboxes accordingly and balance the character again a bit but in case you'll change him (ideally post a new version so that people who like this can still play him 👍) well there u have it.
So again great char man.
Oh and no matter how hard I try his Down-B doesn't work, I've also tried pressing B again after getting hit but I always get hit anyway. :(

I noticed that once you successfully dodge something with down-b you're able to like, weave out of the opponents attack. I'm not 100% sure how it works in full but it's useful to get out of a tough spot. Sometimes-

Not being able to use normal specials when you have stars is really frustrating

I think that this character is dope, the only things i dont like is the star punch up-b, with all due respect u did a great job but tht move sucks, and the star punch neutral-b messes me up a lot, because it sends lil mac off stage where u cant recover

Easily one of the best characters in the whole workshop, the only problem is the Uspecial with the stars, I understand that it's a better recovery but it loses its kill power, as one that usually use Uspecial as a kill confirm that's a bit frustrating. Maybe you can make a way to choose if use the star or normal version?

I've already commented, but I just want to say again this character is dope. He's much more fun and has more depth than his Smash iteration which is already my favorite character in the franchise. Only issue I have is some of the sprites look sort of wonky with how Mac's proportions deform, but it's not a huge issue. Also, is downward angled forward Smash supposed to pop opponents up rather than sending them at an angle that forces them into a tech chase situation?

just a suggestion, i think his up-special should have a slight forward angle to make landing on stage easier, as it's not very good without a ledge.
