this character could be so much more with just a tiny bit of touch up, her fair could be like pomme's fair, and some changes to nspecial and sfx on hit could make her so satisfying to play
I am also interested in doing a character patch for her, and would like to ask if you would be fine with updating the character. The patch would mainly consist of a few bug fixes and some attack buffs and/or nerfs that I believe would improve her gameplay more.
Again, I think she's really cool, and I would like to help out with making her game feel even better. I look forward to your response!
For the most part I'm happy with how this character is now. Any future patches I make are likely to target Down Special. While it would be cool to replace it with a new move, I'd like to not waste the art assets I've already made, so it's unlikely I'll do that. Instead, if I have time I'll look into reworking how the move works to see if it can be made more useful.
While I don't find myself utilizing her Up Special a lot, I do find the reduction quite nice.
I was a bit mixed on you removing the air dash cancel from her Side Special, I do find more utility with it now that I'm not at threat of free fall if I miss. Doesn't make it more spammable though since I can easily get punished for missing, but it still does a mighty fine job either way.
Down B, I'll be honest, I have not found many situations where I can utilize it at all (Both before and after the update). Not sure if it's the hit box, the arc, or the overall damage of the mushrooms, but I can't find a way to use it in most combos I make.
Overall, I really do like these changes a whole lot.
I didn't think there was still interest for updates, but seeing as there is, I'll try to focus on some more basic improvements I can make to make the character's gameplay better in general.
Thanks for dropping this comment, I'm surprised people are still thinking about this mod.
The airdash cancel for FSpecial is especially good since I keep accidentally using it and falling to my death
Solid fighter with a unique moveset, but it lacks that zing that makes her feel like Marisa (save for her neutral attack) and instead makes her feel like a normal magician (ironic? yeah)
Also, a surprising lack of star projectiles despite being one of her more famous projectiels in hisouten.
despite that, this is a good resprite of Marisa that actually matches well with the other Touhou characters on workshop
