Does it work right in Rally Trophy Remake?

love the mod and have used it for years. but m'aiq is right. there is definitely an issue where too much sustained downward g-force if causing the physics to do violently unpredictable things. it's not shock loads like jumps. while it is more prevalent on modded cars and/or tracks, i have still noticed this on vanilla tracks with vanilla cars. on the tracks you mentioned, hellride and wrecknado, it happens on the banked turns with wall rides there the car sustains heavy g-force towards the bottom of the car compressing the suspension.

but mostly, if you're going fast down a hill (120+), some cars just jerk into the wall when you reach the bottom. i don't know if the car is making contact with the ground, or if the car is deforming enough to alter the suspension geometry. it feels like the car suddenly toes out a LOT. i don't honestly know. but "something" is happening, and removing this mod fixes the issue.

best of luck and i hope it gets fixed in the future.

Unfortunately these tracks are not ported with wreckfest physics in mind as they have not be smoothed out to compensate for the difference in physics. If you notice any issues with official track releases let me know, but modded tracks are usually of vastly different quality standards that can't be accounted for.
M'aiq the Liar 10 Apr, 2024 @ 11:59pm
M'aiq has noticed it most recently on mod added tracks, like NFS2SE's Outback while driving a B class Speedemon (Supra Mk3). But, this one has had similar issues on various tracks from the vanilla game.
ЯavenStrykeR  [author] 10 Apr, 2024 @ 8:28pm
@M'aiq the Liar This may be possibly, is it on tracks like Hellride, or Wrecknado where there is an extremely large variance in height?
M'aiq the Liar 10 Apr, 2024 @ 8:26pm
M'aiq loves this mod, but this one noticed cars suddenly losing control on high speed tracks with elevation changes. M'aiq assumes it to be caused by the suspension being compressed too far, causing the car to bottom out.

[VS] RavenStryker Can you make another version of this mod without the the stuff that reduces game performance?
< MAJOR IMPACT > 8 Jan, 2024 @ 8:54am
You're doing one hell of a fantastic job with this mod. It's awesome, seriously and my hats off to ya, sir!

I kind'a didn't know you were the creator of this mod. Now I trust it more and I'll use it when I get a chance. @RavenStryker

Absolutely love the gravity overhaul, should be adapted by Bugbear. The original game is like moon gravity, I do not like it at all now after using this mod. :-)

@RavenStryker Nice, Love this mod.
ЯavenStrykeR  [author] 21 Jun, 2023 @ 8:35am
Hi @TheFinnishAce this is absolutely still working and should continue to work indefinitely unless BugBear release some groundbreaking update that massively changes the inner workings of the game. Cheers!
Boxisabox 21 Jun, 2023 @ 7:38am
Still working?

I like most of this except the AI changes, and don't agree with the vehicles being "stronger", except the player vehicle. I DID notice that MY car was stronger. But the damage changes didn't seem to affect AI cars. In fact in my experience, AI cars became weaker. Let me explain...

After testing several races at the hardest damage and AI skill, it was actually easier for me to get to the front, and win, with your mod. (VERY easy actually.) AI drivers were too busy crashing each other, wrecks were everywhere after only a few laps.

When playing vanilla, it's still a challenge to get to the front. And almost everyone is still alive at race end.

I do like your physics, deformation, and particle changes. I hated vanilla when car parts would come off so easily and a completely distorted car is still driving around. I did have to change my particle setting to Low because my fps would suddenly drop down to 5-10 if there was dust in front of me. But you did warn everyone about that.
JZStudios 30 May, 2022 @ 5:24pm
Is there a way to get just the physics changes? With maybe a little less gravity? I did the 3 wheeler demo derby and they refused to flip, when that's basically all they do in actuality. It seems great for races otherwise. The changes to the damage model also aren't particularly realistic, the tiny little car barely got banged up at all even though it was being hit with buses and head on crashes at 40mph.
JZStudios 30 May, 2022 @ 3:28pm
Unfortunately, it seems like everything but the AI improvements works. On the upside, whatever changed in the physics makes the vehicles markedly more intuitive to drive, you can now more easily judge brake zones, corner entry, and grip levels.
CatGirlCarGirl 4 May, 2022 @ 11:12pm
Does this mod effect vehicles added by mods and is it compatible?
bismilleX 18 Apr, 2022 @ 4:21am
Damn, the mod looks and feels stunning! Although it seems like the particle overhaul was bugged somehow in the past, since i didn't notice any frame drops then, but then the mod got updated and in the start of every race my fps dips down to 30 :(
gb_thewise 14 Apr, 2022 @ 5:18am
awsome mod makes it that u take hits more carefully

Mod Updated!
Enoshima-v.ez. 1 Mar, 2022 @ 7:39pm
Just wanna say this is such a good mod, was really sad when Real 2 Life never got any updates but this is the perfect alternative for people who want AI who race a lot cleaner and faster.
Profi L. 28 Feb, 2022 @ 2:33am
Hi Xi! I was looking for a mod that reduces the dirt accumulation on the cars. Now i've seen that your mod includes this feature. Would it be possible to release the dirt accumulation as a seperate mod that is online-friendly? I would appreciate this very much. Thank you.
Picatrix 26 Nov, 2021 @ 11:51pm
I love this mod and am able to run it fine on a old gtx 970 works perfect. If you change the effects please make a new mod instead of changing this one
CSI48 17 Oct, 2021 @ 7:29am
cool cool
ЯavenStrykeR  [author] 16 Oct, 2021 @ 9:12pm
CSI48 - Yes, they do drive more to win, there is still the occasional one that will try to be rough and take you out, but for the most part a majority of the AI will race against you for the dub.
CSI48 16 Oct, 2021 @ 7:46pm
Does this mod make the AI drive to win ?
I mean the vanilla game they're just Agro-Missles without car about winning. I love to beat and bang , but having the AI just blind-side you any and every chance they get is a game killer for me.

Does this mod change that ?
ЯavenStrykeR  [author] 24 Sep, 2021 @ 7:22am
@guska thanks for the update, I'll take a look and see what might have happened. That definitely shouldn't be the case!
guska 24 Sep, 2021 @ 12:46am
I'm noticing that the dirt goes to max accumulation the moment the race starts. Might need an adjustment.
Ba᠌ ⁧⁧lmachim 22 Sep, 2021 @ 2:59pm
hey sir
i read the desc before and the ai try to win races, great since i play on expert and the game before was ez, but there is a question, do they also try to wreck you sometimes, since yknow thats the main point of the game, derby

Any chance you could turn down the dust particles? I'm getting some noticeable performance issues on turns on dirt tracks.
Spleccc 21 Jul, 2021 @ 6:25pm
Can you create a "grip/damage changes only" version that leaves everything else vanilla? I like this mod because it drives me insane how floaty and loose the cars feel, but the strong gravity and visual changes are something I would've preferred stay vanilla.

i wish it was like this in the actual game great mod amazing work you did.
Gonbatfire 3 Jul, 2021 @ 11:50am
Hey! Awesome work, may i ask: is it possible to make a separate mod that only has the adjusted dirt acumulation? Would that allow it to work online? Obviously requesting something like that is A LOT, so i just wanted to know if it would be possible

Yeah it's a known issue right now and the files that are used to adjust the values are locked down currently... Have to wait for BugBear to make them editable again so I can adjust the values... :(
Goffik 1 Jul, 2021 @ 8:30am
There appears to be a bug after the latest patch. With this mod enabled (and only this mod), every car in the race will become instantly caked in mud the moment the race starts. Doesn't matter if it's a mud, gravel or tarmac track. Every car looks like it's been driving off-road for ten laps the moment they start moving.

Hoping this can be fixed as this mod rekindled my interest in the game, but this bug kind of ruins it. Thanks in advance.
K41Z3RR 14 Jun, 2021 @ 5:14pm
very good, tx
ЯavenStrykeR  [author] 14 Jun, 2021 @ 10:26am
Hello, they do not. They may appear in your "personal" standings when a track is loading in and it tells you your best lap for the track, but it will not put your time onto the leaderboards do to how much faster the cars are with this mod on.
