it must be then one of the other tons of mods im playing with as i noticed its not the hardhat but all items that arent being reforged, but when i enabled the free crafting it got unstuck, and now works correctly

@Castillao Hi! Hmm that indicates some kind of crash, I just tried to reforge the tungsten hardhat with all attributes but it worked for all of them. Which attribute did you try to reforge?
Try reforging it, when it does not work send me the last few lines in the server log, this should give me a hint.
Oh good idea, I will add them (in the meantime: "recycled_7", "recycled_8", "recycled_9")
You can also do "c_freecrafting()" to just reforge as often as you want if you want to try things out, the reforging is just a recipe that is crafted.

i tried to reforge the tungsten hardhat from the tungsten mod and the resources were consumed but the item wasnt reforged
could you please add to the "cheating and stuff" post the console ids of the bars so i can spawn them via console commands?

Ah ok the problem with the elding spear should already have existed beforehand, I found a fix, in the meantime you can disable the reticules in the settings to use it properly.
As for the commands, did you take a look here ? These should work properly, if not send me the exact command that is not working.

@Monti I've think I've found 2 problems with the last update.

I can no longer use the charge on Wigfrid's Elden Spear.

The commands to change modifiers on items doesn't seem to be working for me.

No crashes or server startup problems so it's playable now, thanks for your hard work getting it fixed.

@Bungzi Ah ok, now I see it.
Well, the problem is both mods make some changes to the way containers work, compability between both mods is something that I could probably implement, but to be honest I don't see the value of doing that, as it will probably be a lot of work for a small edge case.
I will add the config option to disable the space attribute for backpacks, this way, backpacks can still have some attributes, but visual bugs should appear in that case.

Alright, ran another test, just three mods this one, upgradeable chests, and tmi. Totally default settings except turning on backpack upgrades in UC.

Ran into 3 issues, one is the visual bug. This only happens when the backpack is separated not integrated and not upgraded.

The 2nd is that the upgrading function of UC doesn't seem to always work if there is a space modifier on the backpack.

The 3rd is that the number of spaces in an upgraded backpack with a space modifier on it are completely wrong. Easiest to see if you upgrade a krampus sack and add a space modifier, but at least also messes up with the piggy pack as well.

By default the backpack upgrades are turned off in upgradeable chests, just turning them on for me and having a modifier that adds slots messes with the backpack, and not just visual.

So default settings just with backpack upgrades turned on.

I didn't check if it made a difference but I have my backpack not integrated.

@Bungzi Could you please let me know the settings of upgradeable chest that you are using so that you get the visualbug? If I enable changes to the backpacks, it just overwrites my changes, otherwise I do not get visual bugs.

@Bungzi Thanks for testing that out, could you copy a crash log of one of those instances, where the game can't be created. Even if the game cannot start, there will still be a crash log.
Look here if you don't know where to find the logs.

More testing and I can't create a new game with this mod and mods that add backpack and amulet slots, I've tried 2 different ones.

When trying to start the game I was playing before this updated I got the "server can't start" message. Removing this mod lets it start and run.

I've tried different combinations of mods and starting new games to track down the incompatibility but I think I've got bad results because I haven't been restarting the game after the "server can't start" message and so sometimes I think it will work and then I get a ctd, crash to desktop.

So other than the visual bug from the one time I got both of those mods running at the same time, upgradeable chests and this one, I'm not sure what the problem is. I just can't start my game with this mod turned on.

There seems to be some incompatibility with upgradeable chests dealing with backpacks. And potentionally with just this mod and turning off backpack upgrades.

I do know especially with quest system that the boss fighting can on occasion bug out, to a point that you have the option to fight but it won't teleport you and in other cases the boss doesn't spawn leaving you stranded.

This happened later on when we were playing with multiplayer in mind. But that was the main one I recall from memory but it's nice to see this mod getting love again!

@PrincessProblem I'm working on it again, needed to take some time off for private reasons.
What kind of visual bugs? I tried it quickly with the upgradeable chests mod, but did not notice anything.
The crashes you encounter are related to the treasure hunts?
If not, please let me know where you encounter those and the corresponding logs.
@Jackpot Thanks for fixing some bugs, I will get around to fix them for both mods.

Treasure hunts can hard crash servers when trying to spawn bosses.

Fixed version; with fix for Quest System sometimes messing up boss fight feature.

@FoxKnight64 Yeah that's really strange, probably a combination of different things that cause this.
Do you still have the weapons which caused this? Could you try to replicate if the bug also happens on the new world with these attributes and modifiers?
If yes, can you give me the exact attributes and modifiers of these weapons, then I will try to replicate it.

Also seems to extend to crit and negative crit even on non brightshade, so I assume it's affecting all weapons somehow

@FoxKnight64 Hmm I can't reproduce that, does the brightshade sword have the damage or efficiency modifier?
Perhaps you could try to replicate that yourself with only this mod active and see if it works properly, if it does, then it's a mod conflict and if you find out which mod causes it, I can see if I can fix that :)

unless a mod conflict, what happens for me is if a brightshade sword you make has bonus damage or attack speed, then the brightshade staff will also borrow those bonuses

Because I just tested it with a brightshade sword with a damage attribute and a brightshade smasher with a durability attribute and they had the damage they should have.

not sure if exclusive to brightshade weapons or not, but a damage modifier on one brightshade weapon affects other brightshade weapons

@DLJB Seems like sending the report over BugTracker does not work anymore, I didn't get anything.
You can retrieve the server log from Documents\Klei\DoNotStarveTogether\master_server_log.txt after you started the server.
Then paste the content into pastebin and send the link :)

@Shorky I mean, the initial version of this mod was quite heavily influenced by Terraria, but over time it evolved into its own thing, but nethertheless it was inspired from Terraria

Small fix request:
Non-players holding weapons with the efficiency mod seem to crash the server.
Can a conditional be added so it only affects players?

I had gotten a crash for a pig guard from teh Tropical Adventures mod, presumably holding a halberd with efficiency, and it crashed calling the nil _onexit, so I figured just restricting this function to players would be an easy fix.

@Monti So I recently started a new world intended to be a megabase and only with choice mods, this one and your Quests mod included. I disabled the following mods, which I was using before, and now it seems I don't get the bug where various stats persist after equip/ unequip:

If you can let me know which mods exactly (best would be the workshop link) those two that change item/dropping behavior are, I can see if it may be due to them.
It could be because of the additional item slots, some of them do crazy things :D

I haven't been able to reproduce it reliably (it happens randomly) but just to inform you, the revival at skeleton mod I mentioned was not the culprit as I disabled that for a new world I am playing in and the bug still happens. I don't have any mods that change item/ dropping behavior when dying.

Two mods I can think of that I use that might modify items are one that lets you combine items of the same type to repair them and a mod that adds more equip slots.

Anyhow it isn't a big deal, the tip you mentioned about caves fixes the issue.

If you want to quickly test it out with a leech weapon, you can point your mouse on a weapon and enter c_changemodifier(1, "leech", 1) into the console to change the attribute to leech and to the worst modifier (you can take a look here for a more detailed explanation of the cc)
Or do you have any mod active that you don't unequip your items upon death? Or don't lose your items upon death?

You can't see the action Recycle when holding a gold or better item on the anvil? Which action to you see when holding it over it?
You can give yourself the bars by entering c_give("recycled_7") for gold, replace the 7 with 8 for rainbow and with 9 for glitch :)

@Monti I haven't been able to reproduce the bug as I haven't gotten a Leech weapon yet in my new world. I do have a mod that changes the death mechanic, that one mod that allows you to resurrect through your skeleton. If I ever get a Leech weapon I'll test it and let you know.

I've played with the mod for a while and this thing adds a whole new sense of progression that DST really needed, it is amazing fun, you've done an amazing job.

Is there some kind of console command that I can use to add bars? I can't break down my Gold quality weapon to get a bar, probably another mod incompatibility, so a cc would be nice.

@Giorgio Do you have any mod active that stops you from dropping your equipped items upon death or any other mod that changes something about dying?
This is probably an incompability with another mod as I can't really reproduce it.
You can remove each of these mods that may be it one after the other and test out which one is causing this error.
If you find out which one it is, let me know and I will see if I can fix it :)
P.S: If you encounter something like this, the easiest way to remove this effect is to go to the caves and return, this will reset all effects of the items.

I got a -Leech + -Sanity leech weapon that I didn't notice at first, used it for a few hits and ended up killing myself. Resurrected myself after and it turns out that even after getting rid of the weapon, I have self damage on every and any kind of attack.

Do you happen to have Coloured Percent enabled? I think this mod has been causing huge client log files recently, I haven't encountered anything like this for my mod.
If this is not the case, please add the log to a site like like pastebin and send the link to it in the bug reports section :)

Im pretty sure its this mod or it being used with others but, this mod causes the client_log.txt file to become almost 4gb in size if one plays for a long enough time.

@HARIBO This is just the overall probability of getting a treasure map.
Each day, you have a chance of this probability to get a treasure map, it will drop around you, you will see polly rogers falling to the ground and spawning one.
Additionally, Powder Monkeys and Prime Mates also have a chance of dropping it.
You can also find one when digging a grave.
The chance to find one is all coupled to the "probability of treasure chases" option :)
So the higher you set it, the higher also the probability from all those sources will be.
