Anyhow, good luck in finding a solution, and if you find an answer, maybe you can share it here!
:-)
unfortunately it seems to be this map specifically - the other maps ive tried work fine and ive tinkered with mods to no avail. i was hoping someone might know why this map doesnt spawn ships / trains as someone mentioned having this issue on this map before, but he believes it was fixed by removing a map ive never had in the first place. ill keep an eye on the thread. thanks
With regards to the outside ship traffic and the trains, I am unfortunately clueless as I have not played the map (ever? LOL)... However, it can only be some sort of mod conflict, maybe because some of the required things are deprecated? Maybe some information in the Skyve compatibility report?
Yes, CS2 is still not perfect when it comes to performance, but it's better than at launch. I have a 4080, but my CPU is a few years old (i7 8700k), and it's working fine with that.
Sure, feel free to make a remake for CS2 (I am still waiting to get a new PC before getting into CS2 :-D )
First of all, thank you for this map. It is by far my favorite map in CS1, and I have built at least 4 versions of it. Would it be alright if I try to remake it for CS2? Of course, I will give full credit to you. :)
1) there could be a conflict between the mods used on the map and mods which you might use per default (e.g. "Unlimited Trees Revisited" vs "Tree Anarchy"). To check if this is the case, one could unsubscribe from every mod and subsequently only subscribe to what is required by the map. (so to have a "clean" configuration). If this is the case, it was a mod conflict. I think that there are tools/mods to check for conflicts which could help before using the approach mentioned before. Or you try out some Discord server to get an answer from people who know this kind of stuff (I am not playing CSL since a while)
2) Worst case would be that a mod that is listed required is not compatible with the game after the recent patches. In that case some people on a discord server might have the answer. I don't unfortunately.
However I have used several brushes for different altitudes. Sparse brush with smaller shurbs and small conifers for the upper region, bigger conifer forest for the middle range and a mixed forest (conifers and leavy trees) down in the valley.
81 tiles mod can be replaced and is not strictly needed anyways (but energy and water will not be provided when you start)
Ulimited Trees: Revisited will be an issue if you use Tree Anarchy... And there is nothing that I can do. I would have to re-place all the trees and re-release the map, but I do not have the time for this.
The other mods or rather assets should be fine afaik.
Few trees could signal a problem with Unlimited Trees Revisited. And indeed, the workshop page of this mod says that it is deprecated and another mod should be used.
However I haven't played the game since a while and cannot verify it. But this could be a possible issue.
Thank you for your time! Again kudos on the map, it's awesome!
If not, you might do it, or you mix it yourself in the theme mixer: Use Laviante 2.0 as the baseline theme, use the oil texture from Alps Dolomite (=Snow) and add the ruined texture of the SCT NATURALRESERVE theme (otherwise the transition between the snow and the cliff texture will look very odd)
I hope that this helps you! Thanks for the feedback and have fun!
Great map btw!
It fixed the problem for other players (see comment from the 2.8.2021)
Good luck, unfortunately that are all the information I can give you from afar.
Shame. Can't use the map.
Regarding further releases: it might take a while as I'm not working on anything at the moment. This map drained a lot of time and ultimately this hampers my motivation a bit... but I still have some ideas 😁
Enjoy your build.
In that case I suspect that a mod conflict is causing this. Finding out which mods are conflicting might be cumbersome and involve a lot of unsubscribing/re-subscribing.
So besides the general debugging tricks of unsubscribing to ALL mods and loading to verify that it works, adding one mod, verify, and repeat this until it does not work anymore, I cannot provide any help. Sorry. But I hope you can figure it out.
After hearinf so much good things about this map, I should try it myself :-D
5/5 chirps!
