I don't know why it doesn't work for you. it's just one texture. And the path for it hasn't changed.

I've updated the version number so the launcher doesn't complain, but there's nothing else to update.
If you're having issues, move the mod to the bottom of the playset. And don't use it with total conversion mods.

Hi @Agami, the mod no longer works, could you update it?

After the 1.12 version update, there were bugs in the mod. When reducing the line of sight to parchment map mode. Light and shadow cause the text on the map to disappear.

This is perfect! what the vanilla map should have been.

The Fallen Eagle: Paper Map does the same thing, but adds names of the seas/oceans.

Actually forget what I said about not loading a newer map from a later mod because the game obviously is as it blitzes your flatmap no matter what load order I use, so there's something else going on that causes the BMT flatmap.dds to blitz yours.

@agami sorry for the bs

I found the conflict and it's plain as day. I should have known immediately that Better Map Textures is the problem.

I didn't think of it straight away because it's in a collection that a guy advertises in his youtube channel as must have IM mods that all work together and claims he runs ALL THE TIME .

The BMT mod has a flatmap.dds which overwrites yours, and even loading your mod after BMT your flatmap.dds is not used, so I guess once the game loads the map from a mod it doesn't load a newer one from a later mod, which is kind of weird.

No matter what order I loaded BMT and DPS, the only way your dark sea mod colours the sea when zoomed out is if I delete the flatmap.dds from the BMT mod.

So your mod is working perfectly, sorry for my earlier claim that it doesn't.

Sorry forget what I said.

I have just tried loading only your mod and it works perfectly.

So even though I loaded your mod last it seems there is something affecting your mod at the point where I zoom out and the decorations are added to the map which is weird.

I'm about to go through all my mods to find out which it is, but don't really know what to look for even when I isolate which mod is causing the issue. Do you have any idea what to look for a mod that could be causing this behaviour in your mod?
Lost Nomad 19 Jul, 2022 @ 2:50am
Oh and for clarity I have your mod loaded last to ensure nothing is overwriting it.
Lost Nomad 19 Jul, 2022 @ 2:48am
It looks good a bit further zoomed out now but I cannot zoom all the way out as you have in your example without the paper map sea going full white.

The paper map sea switches from your blue to white at the zoomed out point the paper map gains the sea decorations, i.e. the huge Lobster near Sicily, the huge fish near Gibraltar, the huge Serpent near Brittany, etc.
Agami  [author] 18 Jul, 2022 @ 8:49pm
I've darkened the seas a little, to account for the brightness.

@Deschain if you think another mod conflicts with it, put my at the bottom, not the top of the playset.
Lost Nomad 18 Jul, 2022 @ 7:07am
Worth noting that for the briefest moment when you enter the game before the map zooms into your location the sea is actually dark blue, it's after that the white paper sea colour takes over.
Lost Nomad 18 Jul, 2022 @ 4:51am
Same not working.

It's only dark blue when you zoom in past the point of seeing the sea names, anything further out and you just get a white paper sea. Do they use two paper maps for the sea now depending on zoom?
Austriaco 16 Jul, 2022 @ 11:59am
This does not appear to be working for me, either.
Deschain 16 Jun, 2022 @ 2:25pm
For some reason this mod isn't working for me anymore. Even if I put it on top of the load order it doesnt change the color. And I've checked the files and they are all there. Really don't get it...

@Kag It can be done,
but the vanilla screens are at weird angle that is very VERY hard to recreate,
in order to fit it in the border outline (when you choose the ruler).

That why big conversion mods don't have it (outline), they just show the picture with borders.

I would like that to, but..:steamsad:
You also see them like 30 sec, so it's not immersion breaking.
Kag 9 Apr, 2022 @ 10:18am
I'm not sure how you managed this work of art, but would it be possible to have the dark sea for the bookmark screens?
ThanatosGamez 19 Mar, 2022 @ 9:08pm
dosent work for me
Agami  [author] 11 Mar, 2022 @ 1:31am
@Cocaine™ yeah, there's a mod that should restore the brightness

Is it just me, or the blue sea color got a bit washed out in recent versions of the game?
https://i.imgur.com/Y6UhfdW.jpg
Previously the blue was just perfect, now it's kinda bland.

I know the map file in the mod is the correct color but i think the game changed something recently.

Edit : Alright Paradox definitely increased the brightness of the Paper Map making it look worse.
