can you add lu hong as he has 800 units of political influence that mid/late game does nothing but give you 2 public order and nothing else. an idea for a change is the more pi he has lets say he get 5 satisfaction, 2% additional replenishment and 20% income from family estate in addition to +2 public order per 100 pi. every 200 pi he get 5 satisfaction 5% army upkeep reduction and 10% income from all sources. As he is taken more seriously as rightful emperor of china he starts to snowball. to prevent becoming overpowered pi gains are lowered and lu hong get only get the bonuses when above 300 and lu hong has a pi drain of 1 (0-100) 3(101-200) 5 (201-300) and a 2 drain every level above 300 to represent the struggle of gaining and maintaining power to over throw the eunuchs.

@imkool0316 Because Yuan Shu's currency is legitimacy, if you are recognized as "legitimate" it naturally means that people love you as they would accept that you are legitimate. High legitimacy naturally implies that people accept you as legitimate, hence the slight diplomatic relationship bonus. In the lore Yuan Shu was betrayed by everyone because he has low legitimacy just as the AI Yuan Shu has it in the game for the most of the runs.
imkool0316 15 Mar, 2024 @ 6:15am
why are you making people love Yuan Shu?
If you care about lore, then it obviously wrong. Who didnt betray Yuan Shu once he pro claimed Emperor in the novel? Although he plays a important role during 190 till his death

Cao Cao looks scary but I'll just focus on a food build by mid game

@Fried Noodles Are you talking from a perspective of Lore or balance? Because this is not a balance mod and I only care about the relevance to the lore.
Mopei_ECO200Y  [author] 14 Jul, 2021 @ 11:34am
@Fried Noodles As far as the lore is concerned Yuan Shu declared himself emperor while he had ZERO legitimacy at all, NOBODY around him acknowledged his legitimacy at all so he was TOTALLY not even trying to appear as a nice, supporter of the Han as far as the lore is concerned. In the lore, Yuan Shu didn't even bother to bribe his neighbors or other warlords to acknowledge his legitimacy, therefore his legitimacy stayed low, he lost imperial favor due to low legitimacy and was ultimately deemed as an enemy of the Han. Given that this is a sandbox game, Yuan Shu keeping his legitimacy high would mean that other factions, including the crumbling Han empire would acknowledge his legitimacy as Yuan Shu speaks from a position of diplomatic strength.

High Legitimacy grants Yuan Shu Public Order and income bonuses. This is balanced against the low Public Order malus of having low Imperial Favor.
Yuan Shu is relying less on the opinions of a failing Han rule and leaning more on his own infrastructure.

Not every faction needs to play the same.
Yuan Shu was a (dim-witted) villain and his goal in-game should not be to masterfully the Han into believing that he is their best friend.

The Legitimacy/support that Yuan Shu receives from his neighbors come from bribes. They are likely not made in earnest.
Opportunistic warlords will take coin and say what Yuan Shu wants them to say until later.
Fried Noodles 14 Jul, 2021 @ 10:53am
Dong Zhuo was a brute. He had the emperor and his infrastructure within his grasp and murdered anyone who disobeyed and disagreed with him. He kept control by Intimidating everyone to stay in line.
Cao Cao was a manipulator. Liu Xie went willingly to Cao Cao's capital where he would later find himself stuck.
Cao Cao maneuvered himself into the Prime Minister position and used it to make decrees on the Emperor's behalf.

Low Legitimacy could be interpreted as Yuan Shu appearing as a nice, loyal supporter of the Han.
As his Legitimacy grows, so too does his brazenness and impudence.

@Fried Noodles Previously without this mod you would GAIN imperial favor for having LOW legitimacy. I'll remind you that in the novels, Yuan Shu was deemed as "enemy of the Han" as nobody recognized his legitimacy, a case in which the default game GIVES him imperial favor for having low legitimacy which is backwards, so I fixed it. How about you explain to me why Yuan Shu should GAIN imperial favor when his legitimacy is low as nobody acknowledges it? In the novels Yuan Shu had very low legitimacy as he was diplomatically isolated and deemed as an enemy of the Han, so how is Yuan Shu supposed to GAIN imperial favor (default game) in this situation?
Mopei_ECO200Y  [author] 14 Jul, 2021 @ 9:43am
@Fried Noodles How Cao Cao's credibility and Dong Zhuo's intimidation also grants imperial favor debunks your entire theory. Liu Xie's personal opinion was irrelevant as he was nothing more than a tool, all that mattered was the political situation. The higher Yuan Shu's legitimacy, the more Liu Xie would have to submit as Liu Xie held no power as whoever controlled Liu Xie held control of the crumbling Han. Note that in the game, Legitimacy is something that you must get other factions to recognize, Legitimacy is how much Yuan Shu is acknowledged by other warlords. The entire reason Yuan Shu failed so hard was because nobody acknowledged his legitimacy, meaning that his legitimacy is low.
Fried Noodles 13 Jul, 2021 @ 6:51pm
'Imperial Favor' is Liu Xie's personal opinion.
Why would the actual Han Emperor have more favor for someone who's threatening to challenge his role as the Son of Heaven?
Most Warlords during this period had imperial ambitions of their own to varying degrees. Why would their opinion of Yuan Shu improve as his 'Legitimacy' increases and threatens to dash all their hopes and dreams?
It was correct the way it was in the game, in my opinion.
This mod is completely backwards as far as Yuan Shu is concerned.
Fried Noodles 13 Jul, 2021 @ 6:48pm
The Han would never recognize Yuan Shu's legitimacy. Yuan Shu had no claim to the throne and especially while the current Han Emperor was still alive, the idea that someone else would claim to be emperor is pure sacrilege.
In the context of the game 'Legitimacy' could be interchanged with 'Delusion'.
This was Yuan Shu's own self-perceived Legitimacy.
As he started gaining ground; as the Imperial Seal fell into his hands, his advisors kept feeding his delusion by suggesting he has an 'Imperial Destiny'.
Cao Cao was easily the cleverest of all the early Three Kingdoms warlords and he laughed out loud about how utterly stupid Yuan Shu turned out to be when he founded the Zhong Dynasty.
There's a reason why even at the height of their power that Dong Zhuo and Cao Cao refused to ascend the throne.
Even Cao Pi would not make his move until he made a show of refusing to accept Liu Xie's abdication three times in a row before finally accepting.

I knew there would be a mod that makes the Liu Biao campaign easier.
Mopei_ECO200Y  [author] 11 Jul, 2021 @ 3:11am
@Long It definitely should, because lore wise the sole reason he got ganked and was hated by everyone was because he had low imperial favor and nobody acknowledged his legitimacy, meaning that on the contrary having high legitimacy means that the crumbling Han government also recognizes hislegitimacy. By default if Yuan Shu has low imperial favor from legitimacy this means that Yuan Shu could be holding the Han emperor but still suffer from losing imperial favor with high legitimacy, which in turn makes no sense. Since legitimacy measures how other factions see you as legitimate, this should include the crumbling Han government as well, therefore he will have high imperial favor as long as he could keep his legitimacy up high.
Long 10 Jul, 2021 @ 8:31pm
Not sure if Yuan Shu's legitimacy should give him imperial favor lore wise lol.
