It might be worth putting the link to the update in the description, since over time it's gonna be pushed down and then peeps'll beg for an update again (itself pushing link further down).

I have the same error as StoveHound below. It either doesn't work or it's some mod conflict.

Why are there so many separate mods that do the same thing? In addition to this mod, there's also the "All Specialists Can Work" mod, the "X - Really Useful Ideological Roles" mod, and the "Capable Specialists" mod (though, that last one also removes the weapon restrictions from specialists).

Hey there, I get this red error every time I start the game. Wondering if it means anything or if it can be safely ignored.

Running into an issue where "Nurse" role (Medical specialist) still has work disabled. Not seeing it on any others. Did that role get missed perhaps? Thanks for this mod!

Could we possibly get a version of this that allows children to work? It's hard to maintain a child army when only 2-3 people can do smithing work.

If I remember correctly, I tried looking into it, but it was hardcoded into the roles and wasn't an XML parameter. I didn't want to make this more than an XML patch.

Don't suppose I could convince you to also remove the weapon restrictions on melee and shooting specialists? Would be nice alongside mods that allow pawns to carry more than one weapon like CE or Simple Sidearms.

Thanks for the report anyway. Much kudos to the trouble shooting on your end. I do wonder how they ended up patching the removal of the XML parameters anyhow... I tried doing that and was met with errors :P - that's why I simply replace the list.

I found the issue... the mod author of one of the mods I use decided to ditch his original mod and make one megapatch with all his changes, and among them he removed the /roleDisabledWorkTags xpath node, that's why your operations were not finding them.

Must be a mod conflict then, I tried reinstalling all the DLCs, but nothing. There doesn`t seem to be any errors with your patches either. The other mod you linked did not give any errors though

Tried out mod error checker, still no errors. Maybe try validating your game files? Perhaps somehow your ideology defs got corrupted...?

I'm still unable to replicate the errors. I believe it might have something to do with the Vanilla Expanded mods... I'm not really sure. I don't play with those so I wouldn't know. Why would it still be needing of being maintained when the change is specifically for the ideology dlc? Unless such a core feature as this gets drastically changed somehow. I doubt you have need for worry.

This mod is perfect. I never use Specialist roles, because i need every pawn to do most of the jobs

A possible balance improvement/different mod idea would be to be able to pick and choose the jobs that a specialist can do. Like, why can my shooting specialist make art, be a doctor, and do research but can't utilize their double passion for cooking? I think, if it were to be made, have it so that your colonist still becomes incapable of most other work just because they are focusing all their efforts towards this specialized role, but still allow them to do the things they have passions for. And if that's still too much, let us choose just one job that the specialist can do that they would normally be incapable of.

@Cattroll0 - Some of the specialist roles increase the expectations of the pawn, which means they require more varied recreation in order for them to actually do any recreation.
