You can change visibility of this mod to Unlisted if you don't want for more people to subscribe to this istead of CaesarV5's, all who has it already will remain it until they unsubscribe.

Finally!Thank you so much.

Thanks for sharing your experiences. I've just noticed there is a visibility setting 'hidden' and 'unlisted'. I guess I'll just use one of those and leave it at that. This way I don't have to delete it and I don't risk people losing it accidentally.

When I forked the mods I changed most of the time the package id to 'scherub.modName', as when I didn't do this they would collide with the old one. This allows me to have both mods at the same time so I can see in-game when the old one is being updated. I'm not entirely sure it was a good idea, though.

I've only left the same package name with the 'interaction bubbles' as another mod 'SpeakUp' was referencing this and there was no up-to-date version at the time.

Also thanks you for sharing your mods when we also needed.

Actually I'm experience in a lot of case where my subscribe mods vanish recently on Rimworld.
When you remove this mods, my mods list still show this subscribed mods and the local file is still there. If I subscribe to the original mods and forgot to delete the local file of this mods, there will be a "duplicate" error where I have to manually dig into Steam Workshop file to find this mods and guess which is the original and which is the re-upload (quite hard since they just show number).
You should warn people first which the description then the in game update note.
Leave it 1 or 2 weeks for people to unsubscribe the mods so Steam could delete it automatically.

IIRC if you delete your mod, the people who are subscribed will be unsubscribed and the mod will be deleted from their devices. Learned that one in a painful lesson when the Unofficial Patch for Skyrim left the workshop since it became too large. Didn't notice it until I played several hours more and broke a few quests.

Not sure how to do that, but some mods show a "changelog" window when you load a game after they updated. Maybe you could do that, warn people that your fork of the mod is going to be deleted soon, and only delete your version a few weeks later?

Did you mean the read 'info' image that I found on several other re-uploaded mods?

Also does anyone know what happens when I delete this mod? Will any of the already installed versions be affected by this?
Scherub  [author] 23 Jul, 2021 @ 12:55pm
Hmm, did I miss something? The 'description' is one short sentence. The rest of the text refers to the previous mod owners including a statement that I'm new to modding. I've also kinda copied and extended the text from the previous mod owner who didn't state his intentions when making/sharing a duplicant mod.

I also cannot find the small red panel that informs about the 're-upload' that you're talking about. But if you tell me how to do it or point me to an example I'll add it.

I could also just delete this mod since the previous mod has been updated. As I said, my intention was not to copy everything, just to provide a working version, as I wanted to play the game myself.

Your intention should be included in the Description instead of copy and paste the Original Description. That way if anyone every wonder why there are so many version with the same support for v1.3, they could at least know the creator/publisher purpose.
Like those "reupload" you see, they always included a small red pannel to inform about their intention when making/sharing a duplicant mods.

Because CaesarV5 has also updated his mod, now. :)

I've only released this version, because there was no 1.3 version of this mod at the time and I wanted to play RimWorld with the newly released DLC. So I thought why not share it with others.
