Have tested this and I am correct. Once you eat anything you can no longer open your helmet outside a pressurized grid. Doesn't make it unplayable but def increases the difficulty.

Ok. O2 high and warm. Try to eat and I start dying and cannot close my helmet because I'm eating. even holding f on survival kit i die before i can close my hood.... On Earth...... With high O2 and warm. I think your mod may be broken.

Ok, I like the balancing of resources and what not....... But dying of a lack of O2 because a friggin snow storm blew in is ridiculous........ The bottle cannot even last through one of the every 30 second storms.

Good job! This Mod is a crazy roll from realism to masochism! I have no doubt that there will be fans of this style of gameplay. However, it must be admitted that this is not a story about an Engineer. This is the endless torment of an uneducated digger who breaks everything he touches.

anyone else taking damage with the visor open, even on earth in broad daylight and clear, warm weather? i have to keep the helmet closed anytime i am in or near a grid.

Divide 60 again, you have minuets. you should get about 5 hours ;) But the max speed is 150 not 100 in the mod pack. thus 3hours and then some ! I have no clue what your reading or doing ... there is not gold on the Earthlike Moon and I didn't update the read me lol

Just for the record. The math = Earth to Europa is 1816km, 100msx60=6000metres per hour. 1816000 / 6000 = 302.6 Hours

I think you missed my point. Don't get me wrong i'm not complaining, I am loving the challenge. I was simply trying to point out that your readme says no gold on the moon, But there is, for which I am glad of due to starting on Earth. Travel from Earth to Moon for gold, Sweet. but travel from Earth or moon to Europa? That's 302 hours of manual travel at 100 m/s.Regardless these numbers are irrelvant as there is gold on the moon. Just trying to provide some Readme feedback :)

Idk about days, Earth to Mars is apparently 0.8647 jumps. So it’s more like 3 hours with the mod pack, maybe 4 with things happening. Plan to build some as you fly, and deal with Reavers and such :D Or you could always start on Mars \O.o/ it’s not supposed to be easy. If I gave you free gold you’d have no reason to travel. Mars has no silicone ores, so your limited on the solar power that you might wish to use on Europa that has much gold, so now you have a reason to go looking for silicone on another planet, that kind of thing. But failing that I’m sure some of the Reavers have gold in them.. somewhere lol. Not sure how many you’d need to take out but some even have jump drives. From earth or moon, I’d pack plenty of bullets and head to Europa with some processing, mining and defensive abilities. Reavers can hit hard and fast! IIRC?

I was fully prepared for that, My question was more aimed toward the concern of no gold = no jump drive construction. Manual travel to planets other than the moon is unfeasible, would literally take days if not weeks. I have a suspicion your in-depth readme may be incorrect though since my last comment.I believe I took a look at the Oremappings section for the moon and IIRC i seen gold listed there, although your readme says none.

OK, one last question from me and I will stop pestering you xD. I'm planning a new start on on earth and a long playthrough, however I have one concern. The readme says no gold on the moon or Mars. Are we meant to manually travel to a gold planet? (would take forever) Or is the intention trade

You should be able to simply just add the mod on this page alone (that appears as “CAT - Hard Mode Difficulty Mod v1” in game).
All the other required mod files should automatically be installed. So you only see one thing in your mod list.
This tricked me at first as well lol.

You should not need to add the dependencies, and you do not need to add TOOM as that is built in. Just one thing. =)

I'm trying it again now, I suspect I may of missed the TOOM mod. May I suggest a list of what mods should be included for this in the description? I think I'd just started previously with the required mods that steam told me this mod needed. the problem may of been that steam didn't list Toom as a dependancy so I wasn't aware.

Did you try to add other mods? If so what =) Can you give me the load order/links then I can take a look?
Anything that overrides the planet files will change ore mapping, this shouldn’t include lightning damage mods, but can do depending on if they tried to remove the weather completely.
I should also note that ‘lightning damage’ mods probably won’t fully work, as I added custom weathers lol. I guess that’s on the todo list now =)

An ore detector mod for testing should not conflict with anything but I do not advise anything over 5km detection range and only use 1 at a time or it bugs the game lol.

I have also seen mention of an uncommon bug on other mods where it just doesn’t install correctly, I believe the fix is to unsubscribe, re-subscribe then try remaking the game if this is the case. Let me know how you get on.

I may have to try this again, The first deposit i came across was gold and silver on Earth, not sure if that was intentional or not, I was expecting to have to head into space for the valuable resources.

The lightning is not terrible once you get a little set up. A large decoy and a welder fed with steel plates will more or less solve the problem. And its far less annoying for the player now. Small grid depending on planet, you can get away with just a few decoys on top if concerned. Or you may have to welder it on Pertam. The idea is to avoid bad weather with small grids. The very destructive weathers are uncommon.

If enough people dislike the weathers I may make a no lightning damage patch. Some love it, some hate it.. I tried to find a balance. I feels it’s certainly an improvement of vanilla tho.

As to load order the mod pack should install everything in its dependency list automatically.
If you’re adding mods then what ever is in the top of the list will override anything below it for single play or local host games.

The mod can be hard to begin but shines best once you have a small set up and still slightly limited resources. More feedback is always welcome.

Just throwing a comment in here as I consider it a crime for it to not have any. Looking forward to trying this later tonight. From reading thoroughly it seems exactly what I've been looking for/attempting to create myself. The only concern I have is grid weather dmg, I usually mod that out.
