- there is a lot of food plants all conveniently grouped up (lush ones usually are very spread out max 10 seeds per planet) - it is op if you also use regrowing crops mod so the fields regrow after you harvest them, but even without the additional mod, you will gain anough food to boost you through further exploration significnatly
- there are tornado weathers that are unique to this mod and offer interesting challenge withoud requiring high tier materials to solve, just creativity
- you can also kidnap the animals with relocator tool from animal farm plots (and harvest them without owning too, if I remember correctly)
this is the most important gameplay differences for me
All information relating to my modding schedule and the current state of my mods can be found there! Thank you for your patience.
I have a question for Omeruin, or anyone else for that matter: do you, your npcs, or mobs/farm animals take damage from the hailstones?
When I was playing this mod a while back, that was the case. I didn't like how the npcs just stood there and very slowly died, instead of running inside...
I messed around with some modding for future projects, but now hailstones do no damage whatsoever... the only figure I changed was the "power" in the hailstones.weather weatherfile, and even if I change it back to "power 1" as it was in vanilla, no damage is done...
Any ideas?
the only things I could ask for so far (I've been on one grassland world so far) is
1) hail not kill npcs? happened once... lol
2) butterflies be catchable!
I don't know much about this game, but it seems abnormal that the weather is 90% destructive ball rain that destroys blocks and throws entities around? Everytime i try to beam down and explore, it turns into that weather within a couple of minutes without fail :(
I started my farm and only discovered too late that the tornadoes toss around animals too..
I've searched for hours on one and never found it, even though it states that there is one on the planet.
Thank you for all the kind comments and suggestions!
I'll have to double-check the values, then.
But decreasing the frequency of the tornadoes? Do you mean weather combos *with*tornadoes, or less weather combos that *have* tornadoes at all?
@Cindy
Thank you!

A mystery only YOU can solve!
It has gotten to the point that I gave up building on the surface and just built a bunker underground or a base on/in an asteroid.
I think the frequency of tornados popping up should be decreased for a bit. Or maybe I'm just that unlucky so big oof. But seriously, if you're in a place heavily fortified by concrete and steel, tornadoes shouldn't affect you. Heck, nothing should happen as long as you got blocks over your head, walls behind and around you.
It isn't for balancing. It was a fun weather idea since flat-lands like these remind me of places that get a lot of tornadoes.
I'm not sure why everyone is having this problem, but there are actually a lot of weather variations that don't include tornadoes at all . There is no value for me to change to make certain weather combinations appear more commonly than others. It's all randomized. But trust me when I say there isn't just tornadoes. I've tested it and added plenty of variation and entirely safe weathers so people can build without tornadoes.
Real-life tornadoes can be powerful enough to strip building and jostle things around. I didn't want the weather to destroy blocks, but I wanted to keep that powerful pulling.
Oh dang, you only visited one planet?
You uh...do know that there are like six variations of weathers the planets can come with, right...? Sometimes weatherless, sometimes hell/extreme, sometimes neutral.
For a planet made for farming, no wonder it has such a sparse population. Still beautiful tho. 6/10.
Then again, I've only landed in one grassland world. Not so sure if some others share the same weather. Maybe tone down the frequency of tornados?
Very much so!
When that happens, it won't be a Grassland planet anymore...it'll be Fireland. Or maybe even...a Wasteland.
@Astro
Fool! We are all already grass.
Everything is grass...
Even you!
Mwhahaha!
I prefer touching grass... in games.
Lmfao
Awwe, thank you so much! I'm glad you like them!
Haha, no worries, and thank you too!
Yes, the tornado doesn't really pick up blocks, but it's still pretty wild!
Again, this planet has many weather variations! You can keep finding and exploring this type of planet and find the perfect weather combo for building!
Also huzzah more varieties and some peaceful planets to have fun in!
Yep! They have a chance to spawn with absolutely no weather at all. Just gotta find one!
