oh god i love your settings with the "ghost templates" very easy to change the weapons to loot only items with this. So much less work for me

Any possibility of those visual attachments for the Thor and Machine Gun? Suppressors at least? Love your mod, absolutely excellent.

@Inerael You may have to scroll around in your loadouts to potentially see the next tier version of the weapons. Make sure you have those two mod requirements too on the right side of this page.

Usually, whatever gun your soldiers had equipped, it auto-upgrades to tier 2 or tier 3 (where ever you may be in the game right now) too.

Where can I get these schematics? Base versions are obviously added already, but upgraded version aren't in either the Proving Grounds or Engineering.

@Empusae it isn't my mod so I'm not familiar with how to fix it, sorry. My guess would be to check that mod's .ini configuration files and see if there's an easy means to change its range table. Hope that helps.

May I ask what mod lets you actually put attachments on your secondary weapon like that, while its in the secondary slot?

@Empusae the issue should be fixed, thanks for pointing it out. Weapon stats can also be manually changed via this mod's configuration files (separated by weapon).

Be sure to make back-ups of your config changes, as updates to the mod will reset the config changes. Apologies if this has negatively impacted anyone. :InkRibbon:

i was wondering why these weren't upgrading with magnetics, then i read this in "Iridar's Five Tier Weapon Overhaul - Vanilla Balance" : "Q: How does this weapon tier overhaul work with mods that add three tiers of their weapons?
A: It does a bit of trickery: the Tier 3 "coil" research and schematics are actually magnetic ones behind the scenes, so mod-added weapons that require magnetic research/schematics will become available when you get to coil weapons with this mod."

i guess i have to wait for coil weapons. do you have any idea if this is the issue?

Thank you for the answer. As it was a new campaign, I could scrap it, do some cleanup (I had a missing class with Lwotc shadow ops due to a typo) and reset the ini file as it was (and as it should be).
bCreate_AR_Dragoon_Templates=true
bCreate_AR_Dragoon_GhostTemplates=true
Now it is back to normal (with Xskins). The weapons appear only as skins, as intended.

@Jestimac i'm unsure why they started showing up again for you on a separate campaign, but you'll always want to set bCreate_AR_Dragoon_Templates=true, otherwise the dragoon assault rifle weapon will not exist at all in your campaign (for regular use or for use as ghost templates). Hope that clarifies it somewhat. ^^

Hello. I use LWOTC. I did set the weapons to be ghost templates. I have been using them without problems with the following set up.
bCreate_AR_Dragoon_Templates=true
bCreate_AR_Dragoon_GhostTemplates=true

I recently restarted a LWOTC campaign after adding different class mods (nothing to do with weapons therefore).
Now the weapons appear directly in the weapon selection screen. I tried changing the setup to :
bCreate_AR_Dragoon_Templates=false
bCreate_AR_Dragoon_GhostTemplates=true

As expected, the weapons do not appear at all, not even as ghost templates.
This is quite strange and I don't really understand what could have happened ?

@kenruof As stand-alone weapons, no they will not work because LWOTC changes how weapons are upgraded/built. But you can use mods like XSkin by Iridar to cosmetically change your weapons to the ones in this mod.

I've not tested it with CI but you will likely not be able to buy these weapons individually, though you could always use them as ghost templates. They are cosmetically (visuals, sounds, etc.) identical across weapon tiers.

Thanks. In the Covert Infiltration mod you don't buy schematics, you build individually that's why I'm confused. Do the sounds, target reticle, and projectiles change when u upgrade?

@SilentSam7 No - each weapon follows the same stat line as the base game's weapon counterparts, but you can edit each of their stats in this mod's .ini files.

Does this mod unbalance the campaign?
Thinking of trying it with Covert Infiltration mod, but from the description it seems you can't buy each rifle, rather you buy a "schematic" and the upgrade is universal?

@benyamun Yes, LWOTC counts. it makes you build weapons individually as opposed to upgrading your entire squad's arsenal with a single engineering purchase. That's why you're missing the upgraded weapon tiers.

I'm almost done with a run through and although I've researched and upgraded almost everything, I still haven't seen the Squad Upgrade pop up in Engineering. Only Tier 1 items are there. Still love the Tier 1's though.

@PuddleOfMudd you purchased the associated squad upgrade for the weapon type in engineering? Does the weapon name have "(Beam)" or "(Magnetic)" at the end?

Perhaps another mod is overwriting weapon stats, cause it works on my end.

Even though the weapon has changed to include *beam and plasma* but the weapon damage is still at base. So yeah...

Possibly a very dumb question that may be asked and answered or simply answered in the description but is it possible to use these as just an aesthetic replacement for the default weapons? And would it work with LWOTC?

The option of Squad Upgade for Magnetic AR doesn't show up for me. I'll try the console approach. If that doesn't work - I'll restart campaign, and then let you know via here. Thanks!

@benyamun To clarify, you're purchasing the Magnetic Assault Rifles (Squad Upgrade) in engineering?

The upgrades work on my end. If that doesn't work for you, you could try just adding them to your inventory via console command. Can check the config files for each weapon's template name.
