Nvm, it took me a bit of random clicking, but I found it. So would the command line look like this?:

+RESKIN=(EnemyName=Sectoid, SkinName="CXSectoid_RustyBlack.Archetypes.ARC_Sectoid_RustyBlack", OverwriteSkins=true)

How would I find the ini for this mod to do that?
RustyDios  [author] 12 Oct, 2024 @ 3:55am
To use the black&red abductorm2 skin I created in this on normal sectoids, you need to edit the XComEnemyReskinner.ini ... copy the m2 line and add the "sectoid" templatename in the correct spot
Praesentia Innominatam 11 Oct, 2024 @ 5:42pm
That's more than I think I'd be able to do, lol, how would I just use the default M2?
RustyDios  [author] 11 Oct, 2024 @ 4:47pm
Short Answer: There is not a way to do that.

Long Answer: There is a way to do that by opening the .upks, editing the textures and animations, rebuilding the mod/making a new version, getting permission to do that from Hulk & ObelixDK (the original texture/animation modders), and then using the new model/mesh as you want to use it with the reskinner.

I wanted to use the abductor m2, but I was also curious if there was a way to change the glow color to be cyan or violet
RustyDios  [author] 11 Oct, 2024 @ 12:20pm
Yes. The mod works without the extra modded enemies and is all driven by the configs for the EnemyReskinner. You can see examples in that file for what to do and you can place practacally any template name in there, or comment them out if you wish.

Is there a way to recolor just the base game sectoids?
RustyDios  [author] 28 Sep, 2024 @ 9:56am
IN the 3rd paragraph I mention the skins were designed for an Elite Abductor and Sectoid Medic for teamCX. I have no idea what those units were going to be able to do, other than the names provided, but they seems pretty self explanatory ?

However, I was able to find a use for all the skins I made as visual diversity for already existing Sectoid enemies.

What would the new enemies have been had you been able to make them? I'm dabbling in updating some mods I have to WotC and thought I'd add these to my to-do list if you had any plans for them?
RustyDios  [author] 26 Feb, 2024 @ 9:28am
What you could do.. is have this mod and the enemy skin replacer mod as dependencies of your mod... and use the ESR configs to replace your MP units model.. I guess.

The usage restriction applies to copying/cloning/moving the .upk assets into a new projects .upk's, it does not apply to using this mod alongside yours with the correct ESR setup.

Normally that would be perfectly fine.. BUT .. I got the base of the model from teamCX from thier Sectoid Abductor mod with the permission to use it for my mod project only, without passing it along further.

I appreciate seeking permission first as would teamCX, but I have to deny and defer your request back to the source. Many thanks for your understanding.

Hello! I'm working on a large multiplayer mod that adds new units to MP. I would like to ask your permission to use the Sectoid Abdductor model in it. I will be very grateful to you.
RustyDios  [author] 10 May, 2023 @ 5:03pm
yes
Kinsect 10 May, 2023 @ 4:59pm
So the Sectoid skin's will replace the 2022 sectoid skins right?
RustyDios  [author] 10 May, 2023 @ 4:34pm
It shouldn't hard crash, but I set a flag in the config of this to make these full replacement for the units affected, instead of 'additional skins'
Kinsect 10 May, 2023 @ 2:58pm
Will this conflict with Deadput's Alien Reskinner 2022 mod if I also have it installed?

xxPYROxxJONESxx 1 May, 2023 @ 11:23am
is this cooked?
RustyDios  [author] 8 Dec, 2022 @ 11:21am
Yes, you need the enemy pack to reskin that enemy.. you don't need all the enemy packs, the mod works fine if you only have some of them
Eleanoire 8 Dec, 2022 @ 11:20am
This is a dumb question, but will this work if one only has some of the enemy packs installed? I read the description but was still kinda confused on the matter.

Just finished a campaign with about 685 mods, this one included, and had no major issues! Thanks for putting this up.
RustyDios  [author] 18 Jun, 2022 @ 6:19pm
Super late reply @TrooperCoon , sorry;
The skins from this mod will either override that mod, or add to the list of possible skins the units can use
