Fantastic, I was just in the process of trying it and you have confirmed that I was about to do it correctly. I have unhidden the 3 tiers and am just getting the template names.

Thanks for your help @Iridar
Iridar  [author] 7 Jun @ 3:30pm
You can add it back with a console command, just make sure to unhide in Item Hider first.
Lebowskichild 7 Jun @ 3:40am
Hi @Iridar, I wonder, could you tell me. If I started a campaign and hid the LW2 Gauntlet, but now I wish to add a new soldier class mid-game, that uses the Gauntlet, is there a way to get it back?

For instance, if I were to console command in the Gauntlet would that cause a big issue?
lety4ayavoropaeva 13 Apr @ 1:01pm
Sorry, translator =(
I meant save\load.
What if I try to add hidden weapons through the console without loading the save?
It doesn't work, as I understand it?
Iridar  [author] 12 Apr @ 12:21pm
I don't know what you mean by upload/download save. The list of items you have in your campaign is stored in your save file. Hiding items physically delets them from your campaign inventory. So if you hide some items, then make a save, then the items will be permanently removed from that save, even if you unhide them later, so to restore the items, you will have to load a save that was made before you hid the items.
lety4ayavoropaeva 12 Apr @ 11:52am
Removed items can be restored ONLY by loading a previous save.

It's possible to permanently break your campaign if this mod is used carelessly. Use at your own risk.

Does this mean that I will need to replay the game from the moment of this save? Or I will need to:
1. Upload a save before edits
2. Hide unnecessary but not problematic weapons
3. Download the latest save

Any advice pls. When I hide weapons in the mcm, resistance pack, the guns that I leave not hidden loses its T2 and T3 entries in the mcm list and in the game I only get 1 weapon as to unlimited. After I restart the game, the mcm list is fine, but when I start a new game the problem presists.

So console commands don't block the stuff! Also did the reset. This is a really good mod especially with stuff like the lwotc modjam which forces some uncraftable items unless you also get the associated mod.
Iridar  [author] 23 Jan @ 3:59am
There should be a reset option in MCM, though it will not affect any existing campaigns.
Icarus IV 23 Jan @ 3:57am
Oh crapballs. Welp, it's just one item. I'll just see if console commands can give it to me.

Is there no way to reset it other than maybe removing it in the modset for a new campaign?
Iridar  [author] 23 Jan @ 3:41am
Yes, everything in Mod Config Menu is always cross campaign, that's kinda the point.
Icarus IV 23 Jan @ 3:31am
Does the hidden stuff cross over to new campaigns? I hid the mec shotgun for lwotc since I wasn't using assault mechs but that was for the previous game. I hid nothing in this new game and I'm worried since I'm not seeing the gun.

I don't understand what you're asking, but for your purposes it might be easier to just Weapon Skin Replacer instead.
Makk 17 Sep, 2024 @ 7:43am
Hi, I use this with XSkin, because I sub lots of CoD's weapons by ∑3245.
Here's my question: I want to replace all my vanilla weapons with the CoD's, but don't want to change their attribute, so I use XSkin to replace the skin only. Now I want to hide these CoD's weapons from soldier's "load" menu, because so many items make me hard to choose the basic weapon type (such as rifle, smg, sniper...). But after hiding those, XSkin can't show them when I switch "category filter" to on (because I just want to replace skin with the same type and same tier), I need to switch "owned filter" to on to show them, which howerver show every tier of the same type... So what can I do to hide the mod weapons from "load", but show them as usual on "reskin weapons"? Thanks!

Man you have a mod for just about everything I could ever ask for, absolute insane genious work.
Thank you so much. I have something in mind, I type iridar and I get an answer with a working solution every freaking time. Bless you.
Noname 27 Feb, 2024 @ 9:41am
cant hide Traditional handgtun and sword from TLE, strange..
Iridar  [author] 4 Feb, 2024 @ 5:11am
@Tide Pod Connoisseur
What are you trying to do, exactly?
Tide Pod Connoisseur 4 Feb, 2024 @ 2:20am
doesn't seem to be working for me using LWOTC nothing else that might conflict comes to mind
Iridar  [author] 24 Jun, 2023 @ 3:11am
No, the buttons are "show the items in the list of items that can be hidden by this mod". They're not for making visible things that have already been hidden by something else.
RS5-DiDi 23 Jun, 2023 @ 6:30pm
I see the button "show xxxxxx" in the picture, so this mod can make T2 T3 weapon show up? which weapon mod can't work on LWotC.
d_valroth 23 Apr, 2023 @ 6:42am
Query for anyone who has run RPGO, Proving Grounds Overhaul, and True Primary Secondaries: is it safe to hide all of the "_paired" and "_utility" versions of secondary weapons? The game considers all of them seperate items built individually, but TPS seems to correctly make the "main" items equippable in all slots. Just don't want to break an ongoing campaign as there's no unhide.
zin 21 Mar, 2023 @ 11:13pm
@Stranger Resistance Firearms?
Iridar  [author] 25 Dec, 2022 @ 7:39am
It is safe, do it myself.
Daedalus 25 Dec, 2022 @ 7:33am
Is it safe to use this mod to hide TLP armor and weapons? Or will these break my game? Anyone try this?
modifieda4 12 Dec, 2022 @ 5:10pm
echo the thank you, there are a ton of cosmetic mods which add things like swords which clutter the item list, your mod is a life saver.
Moisesjns 12 Dec, 2022 @ 10:24am
THANK YOU!
Stranger 29 Aug, 2022 @ 9:02pm
Thank you for this. Spent the past three hours putzing with .inis trying to get a VERY large weapon pack pruned to show for skins only, and none of the 'included' measures were working.

Whether that's due to the functions themselves, or their interactions with my many, many other mods; this fixed it up in the mere few minutes it took to click all of the damned [X]'s. Savior.
Iridar  [author] 26 Aug, 2022 @ 12:34am
@Beat
I wouldn't recommend doing that.
Beat 25 Aug, 2022 @ 8:01pm
Could I hide lower tier weapons as I progress and not break the game. For example, If I have beam weapons unlocked could I hide the kinetic and magnetic weapons?
Fawx 31 Jul, 2022 @ 6:06pm
Disregard. I had to turn "Owned" and "Skinsets" to off. Thank you for this mod!
Fawx 31 Jul, 2022 @ 5:48pm
All of the weapons I hide with this don't show up as skins in XSkin. Any idea why that would be?
Krakenous 22 Jul, 2022 @ 5:52am
Absolutely baller. Was needing something like this that would get rid of some of the "special" stuff like from The Program and other mods and ofc it's Iridar to the rescue :D. Thanks so much, this has been wildly helpful!
Hatsune Marineku 18 Apr, 2022 @ 12:10am
Ok thanks for the heads up
Iridar  [author] 17 Apr, 2022 @ 10:06pm
It can, but that's not what the mod is for and it shouldn't be done this way.
Hatsune Marineku 17 Apr, 2022 @ 9:22pm
Does this mod make it possible to hide squad wide weapons and armor of lower tiers? Like if I get mag weapons can I set it up to hide conventional?
Iridar  [author] 29 Dec, 2021 @ 6:13am
@Tyler Chambers
You would break the game.
Vegeta002 29 Dec, 2021 @ 6:09am
Out of curiosity; if I were to hide a vanilla weapon with this when I have a mod weapon of the same type, would it break the game or simply default to the mod weapon?
Iridar  [author] 18 Dec, 2021 @ 10:49am
@Roseo
Not really, this is expected behavior. You don't neet to turn off all filters, just the OWNED filter. NPC stuff can be permanently removed from appearing by blacklisting them in config. You can also search for specific skins using the search button.
Roseo 18 Dec, 2021 @ 10:09am
Hi, trying to use XSkin with this, problem is if i hide an added modded weapon - it also removes it from the skins list, unless i put it to show ALL the skins without restrictions.
Is it possible to set it up so i just have the skins available without it being in the inventory/loadout screen without putting it to show all skins cuz then the list is too bloated with upgraded tier ones and npc stuff?
TROCH22 5 Oct, 2021 @ 1:35pm
@Iridar
Ahh.. ok I gotcha.. my bad,, Got my mods mixed up. I totaly forgot about XSkin and thought this one handled that.
Iridar  [author] 5 Oct, 2021 @ 1:26pm
@TROCH22
If you're talking about XSkin, it has a configurable weapon exclusion list.
TROCH22 5 Oct, 2021 @ 1:23pm
Question... Lets say I only wanted to use a T1 conventional skin for all 3 tiers of a weapon (ex. 1911). Is their a way to restrict/hide/remove the T2 and T3 (1911) skin from the "replace skin" selection list ? Just trying to remove some bloat, as some weapons have identical looks, sound & FX.
Iridar  [author] 25 Sep, 2021 @ 10:04pm
@Tilting Cat
Shouldn't be necessary
FAT WANZER 25 Sep, 2021 @ 9:13pm
Do i change it to read only later after pasting item to hide in the ini? cause it seems after i save in the .ini with notepad the setting is not loaded?
Alecthelm 12 Sep, 2021 @ 3:11am
I think you misunderstood what mcm options do. The three checkboxes at the top just determine what items you can see in the list below. You can hide only specific items one by one.

fukfukfuk. ill did take it further, i deinstalled it bcs nothing happened, and i thought looking for debug with my 300 mods...nah..ill try it again:) thx- im an dum......s
Vegeta002 3 Sep, 2021 @ 11:11am
Makes sense not seeing vanilla weapons if that's how it works.

I suppose I could use reskin for that, would probably only set my game progress back a bit. Menu might get a bit crowded, but I can deal with that.
Iridar  [author] 3 Sep, 2021 @ 11:00am
Sounds like what you should do is hide halo weapons and reskin vanilla weapons into them.
Iridar  [author] 3 Sep, 2021 @ 10:58am
@Tyler Chambers
I think you misunderstood what mcm options do. The three checkboxes at the top just determine what items you can see in the list below. You can hide only specific items one by one.

That said, I wouldn't recommend hiding vanilla weapons, as that could break your campaign.
Vegeta002 3 Sep, 2021 @ 10:57am
By "vanilla XCOM weapons", I mean the organization. I still want the Hero Faction weapons to stay, since they can't use Halo weapons.
Vegeta002 3 Sep, 2021 @ 10:55am
This is a very nice mod, but what would I need to do if I just wanted to disable vanilla XCOM weapons?

The MCM options is just a broad sweep that erases everything in the game, with only mod weapons available to select.
