this one is quite nice, as its kind of a fair way to give each of your colonists a Backpack (with an extra 100-150 approx extra carrying capacity)

@Aha No, this mod cannot increase the mass your pawns can carry. However, there are multiple such mods in the workshop
Aha 19 Jun, 2024 @ 11:37pm
Okay, thank you that worked! Ironically, the pawns are now unable to lift said crates as the crates weigh too much lol. Is there another work around or should I just take my lumps and keep it around 25kg?

Hey, thank you for the mod! How *would* you go about patching the xml to make a crate carry a higher weight?
Any help would really be appreciated!

@鲁迪乌斯·格雷拉特 I guess you can patch the xml to whatever mass you want

Can't I set the maximum weight limit for Crate? 25kg is really too little (machine translation)

Prob a mod conflict, but works only half the time. Have way too many mods so it will prob take a couple weeks (esp with load time) to discern what is causing it. After reloading my save, I can't seem to manually get it to pack specific items. After packing some items, I cannot get the "Pack Crate" job to appear either. The filter list does not save across reloading saves as well. Since I have SOS2/3, going to just build a ton of transporters to store extra items.

To anyone using OgreStack, open the Overrides.xml and add <item defName="Crate" stackLimit="1" /> under the IndividualItemOverrides section, otherwise you will lose the content of your crates as they get stacked, hope this helps.

@Sleepy Dragon If I remember correctly you should be able to just click on the pack button in the ui and choose what to add
Good Dragon 24 Dec, 2021 @ 10:58pm
Some usage guide would be great. I thought that it is just a simple buid/craft and place furniture, but it seems to be not and it's not really clear how to use them

Honestly, it would be great if you could just dump the crate the same way you can make a colonist or storage container dump its contents, but there isn't an option for this.

Not getting an error. But for some reason my pawns have a hard time dealing with this mod. Sometimes I tell them to pack stuff, it says they are packing stuff, but then they just ignore the crate and try to haul other things instead. Even when they do pack the crate, it seems to randomly decide if they want to actually unpack it. I have a crate full of stuff that I cannot unpack. I have done everything I can think of to make it happen, but the command doesn't show up when I tell a colonist to do so.

For general inventory, yeah the micro could get annoying. But for caravan loading? Pretty great. Especially to have a few crates of emergency supplies packed away where your colonists won't mess with them until you need them.

And then if you get a raid you can't beat, grab the emergency crates and GTFO.

This sounds like a good mod, but I'd heartily endorse Pick Up and Haul as an alternative if your main goal is to prevent pawns from making four trips to collect a pistol, two knives and a protein bar.

I may still use it 'cause it seems like a decent way for me to compress the nonsense in my warehouses, but pawns not being able to directly access the contents seems like a deal-breaker for me since I like the idea of micromanaging my crated inventory even more.

The mod works nicely. There is a bit of an oddity on how you pack stuff (you get the impression you can't queue commands but you can), but everything is working fine. What is stored is not seen for bills, as expected.
Mlie  [author] 2 Sep, 2021 @ 2:04am
@BladeofSharpness Thats how I understand it yea
BladeofSharpness 2 Sep, 2021 @ 12:47am
The items are not de-instanced from the world but they are still not 'perceived' by pawns, right?
Mlie  [author] 1 Sep, 2021 @ 9:54pm
@DisKorruptd All items are storable. The crate should not stop any deteriation by itself. I think its like an open shelf in that regard
DisKorruptd 1 Sep, 2021 @ 5:33pm
Question, does food rot pause when items are stored?
or are food items even storable
DisKorruptd 1 Sep, 2021 @ 5:20pm
Even with Pick Up and Haul, this would save time in traveling between items, having done it ahead of time, plus it just saves storage space in general...

*sticks 8 crates in my Deep Storage spaces*
