Hey ! Cool mod, does it work still with recent updates ? Can I just pick the one that interest me and it will still work ? (as a standalone ?) I guess no according to description but is something like that could be planned ?

@No Name it requires 16 other mods, for a total of 17. You can skip the cityset one but it is a nice improvement.

@XXX_420_Bad_Boy No worries - I misread your initial comment. I maintain this pre-packed group of my own mods, and a collection with all the individual mods. I though the comment was on the collection.

As for hair not showing - try unsubscribing to this mod, then resubscribing. It sounds like Steam didn't get all the files from my update. That happens surprisingly frequently.

@EarthlyKnight27 This mod specifically gathers mods that were originally made by silfae, plus my updated code. I do like the Geth, but that's not something I will add to this mod.

@Kekxsz Hah the Launcher is always up to its tricks. Glad it's working!

Turns out the only fix in all of 3.4.5 was fixing the impose ideology wargoal (looks like for MegaCorps)

@corsairmarks Hey, turns out it was the PDX Launcher being goofy and not detecting the mod, even tho I was subscribed to it, so it just loaded without one of the dependencies.

That said I didn't realize we have a patch 3.4.5 - I'm doing a quick test on my end an verifying the differences in the game versus 3.4.4

@Kekxsz That sounds like a potential UI-related issue. Do you have any UI mods active? Crashes from UI tend to happen right at the end of the loading bar. This mod and its dependencies don't make UI-screen changes, but some of my other mods do (if you sub to those as well).

Hey, I've been having some issues with the bundled mod and the individual mods aswell.
I'm playing on version 3.4.5, and every time the game tries to load right before the home screen the game just crashes. I tried it with individual mods too, some crash, some load, but dont work.

@The Grim Sleeper because only 1 mod can overwrite the relevant species_class file at a time, most mods that add portraits create their own classes. I won't change that in these mods because it's a compatibility concern.

If you want to change things in your local copy, you need to copy the game's species_class files, then add the relevant Silfae's portraits to the desired classes. I recommend creating your own local mod to hold these 2 files. You should then remove the portraits from the species_class files in your local copies of my Revisited mods. Keep the files so you still have the option to use the new citysets

There's no need to adjust the graphical cultures.

I've been (trying to keep) using Silfae portraits for quite some time with mixed success, so first off THANK YOU for doing a proper upgrade of this wonderfull content.

One of the things I've really struggled with are the 'graphical culture' files, merging appropriate species into existing arch-species (like adding the raptors to the reptilian portrait pool) and getting the randomly generated empires to use them. You have succesfully by-passed some of these issues and disabled others. Was there a course or line of thought as to what was enabled/disabled? Can I make the feature request to change some of those? If not, do you know a good guide for hacking those changes into the (local) files?

@Johnnylew No - if you do that, then you will only get the outdated and broken gameplay changes by the original author. To use only the portraits without gameplay change, you would need to download all the original mods bvy Silfae you want to use, then copy the "gfx" folder and "common/species_classes" folders from the original mods into your own, local-only mod. There are some pointers on the Stellaris wiki, or join the Stellaris Modding Den (link above) for more help.

@Shadowrunner 007 - that is usually caused by issues with Steam not downloading it quite correctly. Unsubscribe from the mod, close out of Steam and Stellaris, then ensure this mod's folder is fully deleted (locations vary by operating system; check the Stellaris wiki) and verify the .mod file is also deleted (that lives in a Paradox/Stellaris directory in your My Docs/Home/~ directory; again refer to the wiki). Once all of that is done, resubscribe via Steam and wait for the download to complete before starting the Launcher.

Updated for 3.3 "Libra" - let me know if you hit anything unexpected. Improvements to job overwrites now means that the Holofrixit job overwrites won't fully clobber other mods - although you may have to do a little manual tweaking to get the files to load in the order you want.

@Wilmfe23 You must install all of them, which is why they are listed a dependencies. It's a little unclear. Do you need to install ALL the original portrait mods? Or can you just not install the ones you don't like and still use this one as a cover for all you do want?

@Legend Slayer I play my own mod and I'm not having issues. What other mods do you have enabled?

You can find that information in the crash dump in a file called "%USERPROFILE%/Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/crashes/stellaris_(date)_(time)/meta.yml"

Also, do you have all of the required portrait mods downloaded and active? It will CTD without them.

@Carrnage - no because this mod will crash the game without those art assets.

If you have another mod that add the same assets, you can unsubscribe from the original Animated Asari portraits and see if it works.

@Zooasaurus for these empires, you'll find them in the localisation/replace/<modname>2_l_english.yml files. I believe they start with EMPIRE_

@GARYMAX If you want to run them all, its certainly easiest to grab this one plus all of the original mods from Silfae. This mods was created by literally combining all of the Revisited mods so the code is the same regardless of which way you choose to subscribe. The individual mods exist to make it easy to pick and choose which to include in your games - and a few of them have a higher likelihood of conflicting with other mods (Holofrixit is the guiltiest in this regard).

If you decide to go with all of the individual mods, there's a compatibility patch needed for the Silicoids and Holofrixit if you use both of them together. This combined package already contains the patch.

@Zooasaurus - yes, two ways. 1. "Edit" the empire in the game, then save it. That creates a copy that you can set to force-spawn. 2. Edit the files in the new mod(s) by me, as they override the originals - you'll find them in the prescripted_countries folder.

However, neither method fully guarantees the game will only spawn the empires set to "always" - that's just how the game works.
