@Gregarius So an odd thing about wormholes is that they are mono directional until you enter them. The other three marked sectors were most likely the "exit" ends for other wormholes and until you find and go through the "entrance" end the other end simply doesn't spawn.

This seems to be marking wormholes that aren't really there. Avorion 2.5.2. Four wormhole sectors visited, as noted by my scout, and only one of those four had a wormhole in it.

Wow :) scouts return more than just a vague hint, can you imagine? ha ha I'm giddy... hours spent on Operation Exodus and then with the mod was able to wrap it up in short order. THANKS

It works, just be sure to update the modinfo.lua yourself so the game won't yell at you about version mismatch.

@Gregarius I did find a small work around, peek into 3k+ asteroid belts discovered for a slightly more reliable return rate. Not perfect, not reliable, but something while we wait and hope Nyrin add's this or confirms it cant be done. :HappyMask:

If possible, a scout with a mass sensor marking claimable asteroids would be lovely.

Adding icons on everything would be a cluttered mess. You can just search for keywords in map view, the content of the notes counts. Search for "smuggler" for example and all the smugglers outpost will be highlighted, even if you never visited them and it's just a note left by a captain.

yes, it would suit the way I play (putting icons by hand and taking them out when visited)
but most users would probably find it too much when map filters could be used on captains messages

Could be to add more toggles then just a plain 'captain leave notes'
but that implies to touch the in game menu which might be harder

or have your own popup to offer options on what to iconized: none, cultists, wreck, beacons, over 1000 astero...

I am wandering on how much the scout process is optimized? If I issue a scout command a second time on the same area, does it bypass the already scouted sectors? If no them we could give us an nice immersive tool: captain could reset icon to blank by default and mark what I want to deal with tonight

this would leave filtering for friends satisffied with it and gives the 'at glance' result to others

That's a great idea and I was thinking of that too. It'll need to have some options, though, because stuff gets REALLY cluttered if you aren't careful! Doing one small set of them by hand to see what it would be looks something like this: https://i.imgur.com/g2c342M.png

Do you have ideas on how to manage that without things becoming "whoa" with too much scouting? Could likely add more filter options to the map itself.

improvement proposal: as the scouting explorer leaves notes, would it be possible to leave an icon as well?
ie: cultis: astro, beacon:flag, hostile:fighter, wreck:repair, some astero:(none) ...
rarest taking priority (ie cultis>wreck, beacon>hostile...)

this would give an at glance result

Alright, you got it! The special sector with abandoned ships you can repair now have unique lines--they'll stand out, but a keyword that will hit them all is "repair."

@RolfMao - there's a mission (The Hermit) that specifically marks the location of the gate after you found the 4 artifacts. Waaaay better than scouting.

Barring that, the mod is still great, escepcially for those that want a fresh start, but don't want the pain of visiting a million scetors for MAD satellites and Exodus.

So, this might actually save me a lot of headache. I got all the artifacts, and I am looking for the "gate" through the barrier by having scouts map the whole outside, so fat to no avail. I guess I'll have to re-map the whole region again, but that is way better than doing it by hand, still.
