Oh! Forgot to mention. The F7 command is not working here with me. Not with this workshop version and neither with the Nexus version.

Maaaannn... What the hell is the problem with the AI, whe controling a Grasshopper? EVEN WHEN I set the sniper behavior preset and equip only long range weapons, the AI will still run like a madman towards the enemies. They are always the first to die because of this.

A lot of strange confusion here, so some clarity, from first-hand experience:

1.the mod works, at least the nexus release. it's amazing.

2. F7 works, but will break with some hud mods and mechwarriorVR that hijack the command's menu. Even then mod will still work, only the advanced f7 commands won't.

3. infiltration does seem to work also, just it's made a bit more interesting than vanilla, based more on the actual LoS / radar detection

4. Using voice attack with this is next level fun.

From reading the comments and playing a little, is this mod broken right now or working fine? Can it also be the reason why urbanmechs can take an incredible amount of punishment (torso wisting/spreading damage logic)?

Not trying to be sarcastic or negative here, genuinely wondering!

Unfortunately that happens in the base game too. It's frustrating going into a 100 difficulty arena fight and having things blast your arm off before you get to move. Blame the devs for these mods even existing.

This breaks infiltration missions really badly. Enemy mechs can detect, follow & shoot at you without you actually being detected. Of course if you shoot back it's immediate detection + alarm. Makes most of the infiltration missions straight up impossible, especially when they all just sit on the pickup targets, or they even already walk up to you when you wait in the waiting zone at mission start.

this mod wouldve been great if it didnt force missile boats and snipers into LITERAL MELEE RANGE when you order them to focus fire. its hilariously stupid that focus fire makes LONG RANGE "AI" settings to run up the player controller character. I want my snipers and LRM boats to shoot a target i tell them to, not RUN UP TO IT POINT BLANK and not be able to shoot their LRM's at all! such a terrible mod

This mod makes Arena missions unwinnable because AI refuses to attack each other, forcing the player to kill all of them. I suggest you add a warning to the top of the description so the mod's reputation is not affected.

Just wondering, do you need all the DLC for the AImod2 to work? currently i only have the vanila and heros of innersphere DLC, and i cannot access the "F7" key function.

Do i need to install another seperate mod (the lancemateorder mod?) I dont have any other mods installed. Thanks

it's way better then the vanilla AI, but far away from beeing really good. what i dont like:

- lancemates often run around like idiots pulling more and more enemies
- lancemates often run directly into the players fire
- lamcemates often hold position directly in front of the playermech, so the player cant shot
- lancemates often run into zero-distance to their target (an so pulling more enemies), instead of using the range of their weapons
- lancemates sometimes stand there doing nothing while player fights a group of mechs

Yeah, with the mod enemy mechs will be on either your main weapon location or whichever torso you're closest to death in like white on rice. Urbanmechs are genuinely terrifying because of their ability to yoink any segment remotely close to crit the instant they see you, and many missions put you against TONS of them.

I REALLY LOVE how my long range assault and heavy mechs now use their range to the fullest and actively backpedal and maintain distance from their targets! Before, they will shoot their PPC once and then waddle into brawling range with the lighter mechs and then try to shoot PPCs in a circle... duh... AWESOME MOD! I actually could just hang back and watch my lancemate do an amazing job each to their roles now! This mod does seem to cause quite a bit of lag on my aged system but its WORTH IT!

@Kosher Do you have any short-range "backup" weapon on them? Unfortunately the game is hardcoded to engage ALL weapons. So this means that for a true sniper AI you can't let them have things like Small/Medium Lasers.

I guarantee you that both Featherfield and DIGI are experiencing user errors. When you set up the formation/roles correctly, it is a brilliant mod. Git gud.

worst AI ever, lance gets stuck behind, or runs ahead. getting ganked and shanked - if this was of any value, it should have a firing line and a static spread, being able to hold choke points rather than run in and die. when I tell a lance mater to goto, they should stay there. flawed in everyway

Hello is there any other way to see the rolesetup from lancemate in mechlab ? whit out any other addon i try YAML and MercTech but they come whit realy other things that i dont want i just need the menu in mechlab is there any way?

my pilots will still do some dumb shit, but you made them survive 70 to 80% more often.

Hi, everyone here i am again, so after my last post 1st april i just started a new career with this mod installed, i test the mod in this 2 months playing a couple of hours per day, now my point is, what are u waiting for? Grab the stuff, it is another experience completely and for sure one of my favorite mods to play with. Keep in mind i don't use YAML or other mods that influence AI or enemy spawn. With that in mind, have a nice day folks.

Most recent comment from the creator on the Nexus page for anyone like me curious what's going on with the mod: "Between DLC, a health issue and then a family emergency I haven't been able to work on the mod in about 4 weeks. I have now downloaded the DLC and updated the editor. I may have to see if there is a solaris issue. I was in the middle of overhauling the lancemates behaviors so it may be awhile until I can actually release a bugfix and the lancemate updates but hopefully in the next 3-4 weeks. If the current version is not running you can fall back to the v8 copy that ran before I started the current overhauls."
