1) Navigate to *:\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\294100\2611116560\1.4\Patches\Alpha Animals\AlphaAnimals.xml
2) Search for "ClutchMother". You should get three results, Dunalisk, Feralisk, and Blizzarlisk.
3) Notice the Blizzarlisk says "/lifeStages/li[1]</xpath>" and the others say "/lifeStages/li[3]</xpath>"?
4) Change the [3]s to [1]. You need to do both, Feralisk is bugged too.
5) Tadah. Bug fixed.
Please fix, I get that red error log when I open the game, the one for the ClutchMothers, I think Alpha updated their graphic or something.
Verse.PatchOperationAdd(xpath="Defs/PawnKindDef [defName="AA_DunealiskClutchMother"]/lifeStages/li[3]"): Failed to find a node with the given xpath

The top operation is the one that failed, the ones below it are the parents

The reason I mentioned the 1.3 vs 1.4 is the patches. The VAE mod was only combined for 1.4, so anyone using 1.3 would require the original mods and patches.
@Thundercraft @Vertigo I hear both points and I think a good compromise moving forward would be for me to include a github with older iterations, just in case for legacy reasons etc.
I'm a bit busy today, but I'll try to get a github repository sorted soon™
Also, I will get onto those VAE patches! Strange that they combined them (less choice), but I'll take a quick look now
"You also should consider if you want to support both 1.3 and 1.4 or simply just keep up with the most recent version of the game."
I'm curious: Why do you say that? Consider how the author's mods already have 1.3 support & then consider how - since 1.0 - modding for RimWorld has built-in support for multiple game versions (unlike modding for a lot of other games).
If patches like this already works in RimWorld 1.3 and 1.4 (etc.), then what advantage is there in dropping support for previous version(s)? RimWorld mods have separate folders for each game version and RimWorld auto-selects the mod folder with with right version. And it's not like Tynan is going to make further changes to RimWorld 1.3 (or any other previous version) since his focus is now on 1.4.
If nothing else, a mod author could just put "Legacy" or "Abandoned" in the title and start a new version of a mod for the newest RimWorld. But I don't see many advantages to do so.
Merry Christmas/Yuletide peeps! 🎄
Has anyone tested that?
Deleting the xml files that contain the recipes (such as Witcher_HideRecipes) seems to fix the issue, and I can now use the hides from modded animals again.
Cause I just noticed it now that VFE Insectoids aren't in the above compatibility list.
P.S.
Thanks for patching so many mods with this!
Thanks for positivity btw @Kaeh, it's appreciated 😊
Thanks for the mod and have a nice day !
Lala's let me know that there's an older version of MO posted on their server if people are still having issues and want to rollback until there's a fix
