Hey, yeah I’m very happy for you to build on my code. If you look in the code you’ll notice the code I actually use to duplicate leaders for resurrection is itself the work of another modder, walshicus#7684, so they deserve credit too!

Hello! I'm a fellow mod developer looking for code to make a trait that makes Leaders completely immortal. I'd like permission to use your code to help me develop said trait.

There's no cost to each resurrection, although the megastructure itself has monthly food cost that reaches 125 once its reached it's final upgrade.

As for side effects, I'll put them in spoilers in case people want to discover them by themselves:

Each time a leader resurrects, there is a 90% chance nothing further happens.
There is a 4% chance they will become Reckless, which reduces their lifespan.
There is a 4% chance they will elect to retire (0% if gestalt). Authoritarian empires can simply decline their request to resign their post.
There is a 2% chance they will become erratic, and be randomly assigned any of substance abuser, stubborn and arrested development.

That feeling, when the idea is so good and feels so "right" that you don't understand why you never though of that yourself before. (I mean feels right as a part of the game obviously, not actually looking forward to that kind of tech being anywhere near reality.)

What are the side effects and what are the chances of them happening?
Is there any kind of cost per resurrection?

Thanks for the feedback. I've gone over the code in the mods you mentioned, and can't spot any reasons for incompatibility. I've also run some tests with modded species using those mods and I can't replicate the issue.

That could be because I'm missing something, or because resolving the leader pool bug I mentioned earlier has fixed everything. Either way, I'm adding even more safeguards to make sure brand new leaders don't get caught in some kind of cycle. Hopefully this resolves the issues.

The trouble started once the final stage of the megastructure had been completed. It creates leaders with all sorts of possible names and for each "reborn" leader a notification pops up.

I don't know how leaders are generated in the game, but I think the mod triggers something and gets stuck in a loop? Could it happen because of a modded species? I was using the "Animated Cecaelia Species", "Trait Diversity", "Free trait points (3.1)" and "Expanded Stellaris Traditions" at that time.

I've now found and removed a bug where leaders who died while in the leader pool would be resurrected. I've also added more safeguards. I don't think this is necessarily the root cause of all the issues that have been happening, so I'm still very much interested in detailed feedback and bug reports.

Really sorry to hear this mod is causing issues for some of you. I've updated the mod twice now to add more safeguards when resurrecting leaders, but I've still not been able to replicate the issue in my own games, which makes troubleshooting hard.

It would be really helpful if you could tell me when you started experiencing issues, if there seemed to be a trigger that started it, of if you were using any other mods that might be causing interference. Anything you can tell me would be super helpful.

This mod is unplayable and completely ruined my game by THOUSANDS of notification of leaders being resurrected, leveling up, reaching max potential etc etc. DO NOT USE THIS MOD, it will completely ruin a save file.

Why are there so many messages popping up? Litterely hundreds of messages where plaguing me for hours and my leaders screen was spammed with leaders that have never been born in the first place to the point where the game started lagging.

I’m actually working on another mod that includes some of the same ideas as this one, but as an origin, so watch this space.
For balance reasons though, it won’t be as powerful as the megastructure in this mod.
