Argon, I would suggest to work and make better interior cockpit light, and engine, that is on a back, to improve it's form. For the rest, it's impressive ship, with so far detailed interior.
I really like it!

Sorry friend, i'm not playing these days Space Engine. I'm busy with another things (and games of course) But i return to Space Engine always, so in the future perhaps i will do updates of the ships in my workshop. Nice travels!

Argon I have to tell you I think I found out the problem. I am using the Watcher of the Skies Vanguard more now because it flies much more stably on planets as an airship just a few hundred meters above the ground with the settings of Main engines 0 Retro engines 0 Hover engines 30 and Autopilot Orientation set to Horizon using the <End> key. The problem with the USCSS Prometheus, which is an equally lovely ship which also has 8 camera angles, is that it won't let me fly on the surface without constantly crashing. I used these same settings but changed Hover engines to 32 and the ship still keeps crashing into the surface every minute or so after attaining an altitude of 2.4 km on the same planet (I tested both on the same planet to make results comparable.) It then corrects the Horizon orientation again and tries to fly again and reaches that same altitude of 2.4 km and then crashes again and this happens repeatedly over and over in an endless cycle.

Sorry, your question in this case exceeds my knowledge.I remember long ago watching tutorials on how to orbit a planet with a ship in Space Engine. If you search on youtube you will find them for sure. Perhaps, this may do what you need.

The reason being that I do 12 hour videos for Youtube of air journeys over planets and I use OBS for recording videos and set its timer for 12 hours and then go to sleep so I would like to keep both ships in the air over a planet for that length of time without crashing or flying off into space without adjusting the engines or touching the console at all. I wonder if it's possible? I was able to do it with another ship, the RX-1 Star Wars fighter (which has 12.2 g engines) but I dont use that ship because it is barebones; it only has two cameras, one cockpit camera and one exterior camera.

Thank you, I guess it depends on the planet one is flying over. This time I was on a planet with a heavier atmosphere! The ship crashed after 2 hours of flight anyway. I am trying to get it to keep flying for 12 hours before it either flies off into space or crashes without having to keep adjusting the main engines and the hover engines. I was able to get the Watcher ship in the skies for 6 hours and Prometheus in the skies for 2 hours before they crashed. I was wondering if you could adjust the engines on both these ships so they could be in the air for 12 hours without either the main engines or hover engines needing to be changed.

I will investigate more about the Asimov's ship, sounds very interesting... I know the Foundation's saga but i only have read some short tales of him. Perhaps i will do more ships in the future, if i find good models to import. Because i'm not a 3d designer. I only know some things about texturing and editing models created by 3d designers. I think is not possible to design dynamic instrument panels: Space Engine doesn't support yet animations inside objects (with the exception of the animated thrusters....) If in the future Space Engine gives support to this feature, perhaps i will can do something better about instrument panels. Nothing changed in the Prometheus. I think you do something different to better fly in that ship!

If you are designing new ships, that would also be welcomed! I love the immersive interiors and cockpits! One thing I hope you will look to recreate is the AI ship that plays a prominent role in Isaac Asimov's Foundation's Edge and Foundation and Earth. It was way ahead of its time. I also think you could design the instrument panels in your ships to reflect the data present in the HUD of the program as well as a map of the stellar system and a satellite map of the planet that the ship is exploring-- have you thought about creating a dynamic instrument panel like that that shows actual instrument data from the world being explored?

Thanks, I will experiment with it, although I like the Prometheus warp effect already, I just want to make it happen with the Watcher ship too! Did you fix the Promethus capabilities when flying in the atmosphere of a planet? It already seems better (ship goes up when it is about to hit the ground and goes down when it seems like it might escape the atmosphere!) It would be nice to see such stable flight in the Watcher ship too!

In the case of the Prometheus, you must decrease the size from 3500 to 1500 (this is the only difference between the two .sss files inside models folder). You can try to use 1500 (also for other ships, to have bluewarp). Almost all the ships in my workshop are very up scaled, but is the only solution i found to avoid the ship disappear when you use the interior cameras, This happens when you setup the ships under 500 or 1000 (the ships with bigger file sizes like the Prometheus, have more probabilities to experiment this bug) . When you put more than 500 or 1000 you can experiment different warp effects (warning: some of these effects are very strange haha). I can setup Prometheus with 1000 but doesn't like me the warp color, so i increase the size to 3500 (because in this point i can see the warp effect i like more).
moody1515 25 Oct, 2021 @ 12:39am
Oh and if I change the size I will increase it, so should I just increase it by a little amount or a lot for a more noticeable effect?
moody1515 25 Oct, 2021 @ 12:26am
Thanks, I also see the blue warp color in the Argon Courier ship even though it doesn't have the blue warp file, it has a .sm file though can you look into that? Is the Argon Courier spaceship folder supposed to have 4 files in it and the Prometheus spaceship folder supposed to have 5 files in it (including the PromethusBlueWarp.rar file along with the .sm file) and would renaming the files and copying them to the other ships work or should I resize the ships?
argontraveller  [author] 24 Oct, 2021 @ 1:33am
To change the warp colour you need to experiment with the ship size value in the .sss file. I don't know exactly why but the two things are related: if you compare the default .sss file and the blue warp .sss (of the Prometheus) the only value that change is the ship size... Try increasing or decreasing this value and again restart the game, spawn the ship and see what happens. I will try to do something about the navigation for the Prometheus...
moody1515 24 Oct, 2021 @ 12:19am
I am rather nervous about trying it since changing the aero model of the Prometheus to shuttle didn't seem to work, there must be something else I need to edit to make it work, although the other .sss settings seem to be identical to all the other ships. I'm wondering if there is a setting in some other file to edit and if the same might be the case for the blue warp file and merely copying and pasting the file into the other ship folders wont be enough to see the blue shift warp effect on the other ships like I can see it with the Prometheus and the Argon Courier. (part 3 of 3)
moody1515 24 Oct, 2021 @ 12:19am
I meant to ask you.....I found a blue warp file in the folder for Prometheus, and it does indeed blue shift the colors when the ship is in warp drive, a very useful feature. How come this file and feature isn't in the Watcher ship (or any of the other ships for that matter, except for Argon Courier which also has this blue shift feature in warp mode) and can I create this blueshift of colors for warp mode by merely copying and pasting this blue warp file into the folder for the other ships? (part 2 of 3).

There is something really interesting here, I downloaded all 6 of your ships (I am guessing thats how many you made since that is what I have), and 5 of the 6 have aero model set to shuttle. Prometheus is the only one where it is set to none. So I tried flying both Prometheus and Watcher in the air of Kepler-442 b and even with the Prometheus set to shuttle for aero model it still either crashed into the planet or flies off into space. Watcher has a much gentler slope of flight and I have been able to keep it in the air over the planet for an hour now with no adjustments needed to either main or hover engines, while Prometheus required constant adjustment, even though the strength of the engines in both are exactly the same! (part 1 of 2)
argontraveller  [author] 21 Oct, 2021 @ 9:13am
Sincerely, i don't know and don't put too much attention to that , is true. I suppose that you say is correct, try to experiment and setup the Prometheus as shuttle, as you say... I must to experiment more with that setting too, i have no clear what is different when you change "AeroModel" line. Prometheus is not configured as shuttle cause probably i only copy and paste sss. files from other ships and only change the values i need to spawn without problems the object. So, probably i copy paste (as a template) one sss. file of other ship that doesn't have the "shuttle" setting in the Prometheus...
moody1515 21 Oct, 2021 @ 8:43am
Thanks I got them all! I found there are two ships with all 8 camera positions (and 6 cock pit cameras each), one is the Vanguard Watcher like you said and the other is the Prometheus! I love both those ships but also many of the other ones like the Argon 2 and the Plutinus! Lots of amazing views from multiple angles inside the ships! One other question I had for you is that all of the ships have Aero Model set to "Shuttle" but the Prometheus has it set to "No" does that mean it cant be flown properly as an air ship (in the atmosphere?) If I edit the sss file to set that to "Shuttle" like the others does that mean I can make it fly like an air ship (through the atmosphere) just like I can with the others?

Hello! Glad to read you like the ships in my workshop. I can't answer with enough precision your questions. I remember perhaps the Vanguard-Watcher of the skies have more cameras than the others. But you can setup new cameras with the spaceship setup tool inside the game (you can open it with SHIFT F2) and experiment. Warp range is unlimited for all the ships if this are setup with warp by default (the ones i upload have all warp abilities), but i don't have specific numbers for each ship. (i really don't know if it is possible to make a more specific warp setup., i only put a line in the sss. file to allow warp, but i don't know well if exist another warp settings...) Of course you can use the ships on interstellar and planetary locations, all of this is possible thanks to the Space engine software itself. There a lot of ways to have fun with Space Engine. I recommend you to experiment with the game and to read the manuals posted in the Space Engine official website.

Hey question, I downloaded all your ships, but I want to know which is the best for large window cockpit views and multiple ones of them, also what is the maximum number of cameras you can have on a ship, is it 8? and which of your ships have the maximum number, and can all of these be used as air ships on a planet as well as interstellar and intergalactic ships and which has the maximum warp and what is that number? Thanks!
