The submarine is cool of course BUT the npc are awfully stupid on this submarine and it is VERY annoying!

anyway to move the latter that is sitting infront of the reactor? Also in the gunnery, is there any room to include some shelves for ammo and rail basitics? leaving the gunnery to get ammo in the thick of battle is not ideal

@AethylliA 1: The ballast level thing is intentional. As you noticed the ballast is comprised of 2 large hulls on the bottom and 2 small hulls on the top, the way i built it makes it so while navigating, only the bottom hulls will be flooded for ascending and descending, and the top hulls stay dry, however, if the ballast tanks are breached, the top hulls will flood aswell, and they have water detectors that trigger the flood alarm in the navigation area. TL;DR it's intentional so the flood alarms work in ballast.

2: Looking at the ladders again, i do agree with your criticism and i will change that along with some of the waypoints, however i am gonna be busy in this and the following week so i currently don't have the patience or motivation to make the changes and then do rounds of testing to see if it didn't make the bots worse.

Overall, a balanced ship that sacrifices speed for quality of life. Blind spot in the front, being slightly vulnerable at the 0900 and 1200, and large ship design makes for longer engagements and requires careful maneuvering. Left plenty of opportunity for engineers/mechanics to spice things up too; automatic doors, for example. I'm enjoying the ship greatly.

PS: Those large empty hallways could do well with glass window backgrounds. Would add a lot of atmosphere to otherwise boring rooms while not cluttering it in case people want to put things there.

Three, definite waypoint issues with how some of the bots are pathing. Not that they've ever been very good at it, but I found out quickly that just right of medical bots will run into the wall in order to reach the ammunition storage room, have trouble finding diving suits when the ship starts flooding, and get stuck walking back and forth in-between ammunition storage and gunnerycompartment.

I care more about points one and two. Hard to find enough people to man a ship this large without three, however.

Second, ladders extending to the ceiling looks awkward and can actually get in the way in cases like walking up the stairs to medical from subcenterright. I get caught climbing the ladder instead of the stairs every time. I recommend having them extend to just four "ticks" above the floor/hatch/platform.

Beautiful ship. I appreciate the "free space" as growing plants tends to clutter any room it's in, so it's nice having some empty space for just that.

Some points of improvement:
First, I felt the way the sub rises or sinks felt lopsided/unusual, so I looked into the ballasts and while the optimal neutral ballast level is at a great 0.5044, the navigation terminal has the neutral ballast level at 0.5733. Was this intentional?

And it is not something i really plan on changing, if i turn it into a shuttle i'd have to make it bigger, move things on the sub around so that the shuttle fits nicely, find a new use for the drone control room, among other things. And if i turn it into a normal turret, i'd probbably end up upsetting the people that use the drone for their own different purposes. So it will stay as it is unless some changes to the game makes me reconsider it.

4: This is a bit big since it's in regards to the drone, but when i was building the sub, the drone was the very first thing that i built in order to understand how the sub editor works, i used it on the kastrull for testing until i learned enough to build the rest of the sub, so when i was building the submarine i thought to myself that it would be cool if i put the drone, the very first thing that i built, into the sub, and then later i thought to myself it would be cool if it had a burst laser and some crates on the outside, and that's how it ended up like it is now.

2: Having a door between reactor and electrical/medbay and security is something that i considered, but i didn't add one because it just felt "wrong" to me, i can't really explain it or why, but i just get an itch in my mind if there are doors there instead of walls., but cutting the walls down like you did seems to be a solution for those that choose to do that.

@Dan Cooper I'm glad that you enjoyed the submarine, it means a lot to me! i'll address some of your criticism here.

1: The wires on the reactor were locked to avoid them being disconnected since some of the components are inside of walls, but hearing that it prevented your friend from making an auto-reactor, i have unlocked all of the wires on the sub. And as for the light junction boxes, this is my first sub so when making the electrical stuff i did not yet know of some of the tricks i could use to reduce the number of junction boxes i needed for the lights, so i might change stuff around if i ever decide that there are too many junction boxes, and i also properly wired the oxygen tank shelf on the captain's room so it refills them now.

As Engineer: My engineer friend said to say "the captains oxygen wasnt wired up", she disliked that the battery cables were locked (wanted to make an auto reactor mid campaign), and that "lights dont need junction boxes" although I'm not supposed to tell you that, because it gave her more junction boxes to play with. Also, it would be nice if the wall between the electrical room and armory and medbays were just doors, we cut them away since it makes traversability much better.

As Captain: I really enjoyed the ship overall, it didnt feel overpowered in any respective way, and how slow it was felt like it compensated for having full gun coverage. I have one major critique though, the drone was entirely useless. Just like the Remora's drone, nobody really has a use for something only controlled by WIFI. It cant fit in caves, it cant shuttle people, it really feels like a waste of space... and a trap for people to have to repair. Which brings me to the idea my crew had, either replace the drone with a full shuttle... or turn it into a really cool turret, maybe "ball turret" style! The triple lasers was really fun. And later on in the campaign became difficult to stock with ammo, which helped it feel balanced.

Hi, I recently used your ship on a public campaign! I thought it was a pretty great ship you did a FANTASTIC job with the aesthetic, and it was much more balanced than it looked like at first glance. I have a few critiques, maybe it'll help maybe it wont!

@NeoArmstrong That is incredibly strange, i checked the submarine and "Use Transducers" was enabled. I have absolutely no idea what could have caused the Transducer option to be disabled for you, but either way, i'm glad that you were able to find the cause of the issue.

@Toon_link2 I found a problem about a shutter. It's just a missing check on "Use Transducers" in shutter terminal.

Can you check a shutter? When I use terminal it show me the main sub instead of shutter itself and can't be dock back to the main sub. Thank you.

@Cody thank you for your kind words. and the reasons why there is no door between reactor and electrical is in order to minimize flooding between the 2 rooms, and also to avoid having the layout potentially be too confusing for people.

Really enjoying the ship!, seems to need alot of upgrades to get the most out of it when using it on campaign. otherwise sold ship, even though I wish there was a door between the reactor and electrical.
