RIP old ship, you were fun to play with!
Wilson  [author] 2 Feb, 2015 @ 12:58am
and that haha well i could release it but im still not happy with the pistons since they always break
DarkExcalibur42 1 Feb, 2015 @ 6:49am
No worries. I figured real life problems had gotten to ya!
Wilson  [author] 31 Jan, 2015 @ 10:08pm
I have it ready to go sorry good friend, im currently waiting for a piston update cause its still buddy with my design for a lower hanger :(

Where's your new concepts?! I waited like 3 months. That's patience, right? XD

But seriously. Your Icarus was excellent. You should give it a face-lift and resubmit it. Or publish some of these new designs you mentioned ^_^
Wilson  [author] 4 Nov, 2014 @ 2:38am
This was made soo long ago I should upload some of my new concepts

Very functional, which is something I like in a ship. There is no wasted space, nor wasted blocks. It's compact and it does what it's supposed to do. Given the blocks we have access to now, I'm sure it could benefit from a few upgrades, but this is my kind of ship building.
Braus 22 Jun, 2014 @ 9:40am
Really, really cool design. The hangar doors are just brilliant. Love that it's nice and compact, does a lot in a fairly small space. Love it.
Alphanerd4 18 Jun, 2014 @ 6:55pm
Stellar design, I have a feeling that this must dominate any server it's on. Or at least put up a hell of a fight
Wilson  [author] 28 May, 2014 @ 8:01am
there is have a look at the bottom two options
ARANBABA 28 May, 2014 @ 7:13am
no, i know how to slow them down and stop them, i was wondering if theres some easy way to get them both back to the zero degree mark without playing around with the slow down and speed up buttons for like, 5 minutes.
Wilson  [author] 28 May, 2014 @ 6:59am
reverses the rotor? search in the control panel for the individual rotors i think i labled them as hanger door "left" and "right" and check its settings and play around with them you will figure it out its not that hard.
ARANBABA 28 May, 2014 @ 5:46am
oh ok thanks, i was able to figure it out, but ive encountered a new problem: How do you get the hangar doors to stop and return to the 0 degree mark?
Wilson  [author] 27 May, 2014 @ 8:15pm
evan.wells98 that is part of the rotor there is no mods what so ever, for some reason when you remove a rotor there is two parts one hidden and the other not.
ARANBABA 27 May, 2014 @ 7:36pm
btw necromonger FTL drive stands for faster than light drive.
ARANBABA 27 May, 2014 @ 7:35pm
hey, im trying to make some hangar doors for my HUGE mothership, and since i didnt know how to do that i went to your ship for inspiration. On inspection of the hangar doors i noticed that there was a part that came off the rotor called HIDDENROTORPART. as far as i can tell that part is what connected the rotor to the hangor door. is there a way i can make that part so i can use your design for my hangar doors, or is that some sort of mod thing?
thanks!

Dear talented ship designers;
Irish Space Command would like to use Icarus as a destroyer. We offer you some of our ships and an alliance with us if we can use one of our ships in Deep Space Colonization. We await your response with baited breath.

Go raibh an Réaltaí tú a threorú chun sonas.
May the Stars guide you to happiness.

what do you mean by FTL drive? Have you by chance... discovered the mass effect?
Wilson  [author] 26 May, 2014 @ 12:08am
Hogle its a destroyer class not a cruiesr or frigate its not meant to take alot of hits.
Dodgy Asian Tobacconist 25 May, 2014 @ 11:33pm
i noticed, it seems like your hanger doors fit snugly like the ones on my ship, its really cool for looks when you/me/anyone manage to get it to fit that snug :D

P.S great ship mate
Weird Chap 25 May, 2014 @ 10:43pm
Nevermind, it's a slightly deconstructed wheel
Weird Chap 25 May, 2014 @ 10:41pm
What block are those tubes in the middle-bottom of the ship?
Овальски 25 May, 2014 @ 5:51pm
внутренний дизайн просто потрясающий
Metalwrench 25 May, 2014 @ 3:23pm
Love It!!

I love your ship !
It's well-designed, looks cool (I dislike green but a paintjob is purely a matter of taste).
Really like how manouverable this beast is, it can spearhead into enemy capital ships with its front launcher.

Fighters in the hangar (oh btw you have it spelled wrong, it says hangar in the terminal) handle very well.
The frontal reactor room and medical room look uber cool thanks to the light settings.

That said, I really dislike that you put the launcher in such a way that you can't fire them while ship is manouvering, which should be possible.
I also not really like the ship's airlocks. There are basically 2 holes in the ground as you enter the ship, and it's easy to fall into them if you're not careful, instead of getting to the bridge.

Overall I give it 4.5/5 stars it's one of my favorite ships.
Hogle 25 May, 2014 @ 10:52am
I just wanna say I love the ship's design and layout. It's a nice little hit and run sorta ship. That said, it's a glass cannon. It can't take hits. A missle volley that gets through to the bridge, rear engines, or underneath the front is enough to gut it. I would recommend either reinforcing those areas somehow or simply making the hull out of light armor to increase manueverability since the gatling turrets are very effective at stoping the missles. I also love the hangers by the way, I had to actually open them to find them!
Slim Jim 25 May, 2014 @ 10:45am
Hey, I love the ship! It would be great if you made a YouTube video or something along those lines to show us how to operate the ship! (Sorry if theres already a video out there and I didn't look)
Hyfrith 25 May, 2014 @ 10:10am
My new favourite ship on the Workshop! A fantastic build. Extremely solid and the various features work fantastically. The FTL drive in particular is genius, it'd take that ship a while to speed up to max velocity otherwise! Had some great times flying about, although I turned on inertial dampners accidentally whilst using FTL at one point which caused a huge explosion as a ship in the hanger proceeded to rip a massive hole in my hull.......
PS: what you said about not turning whilst going FTL reminds me of a quote from Star Trek Voyager: "Faster than light, no left or right".
shaddywoohooman 25 May, 2014 @ 8:42am
A very well made ship, Nice job on the hanger doors. And great job on the ftl drive, i cant ever make those work for some reason.
Wilson  [author] 24 May, 2014 @ 11:01pm
thanks for the support guys, thinking of another concept for my next project.

This is probably the best ship i have seen so far! It could stand its own in a fight, and easily run away should things get hairy. The "FTL" drive concept is pretty intresting. Its very fuel efficent and has extreamly fast acceleration. I love this ship, and it is my personal choise when playing multiplayer.

This ships's amazing.
WhiteDream 24 May, 2014 @ 4:59am
How do I download this? I've subscribed as steam told me, but I don't know how this works xD

@[D2Kf] Autumn once the map has loaded once, save it and exit. Then go to the load map screen and edit the settings of the map. This works for any map, including ones you've previously made that are local copies only.
Wilson  [author] 22 May, 2014 @ 5:49pm
this ship is fairly small for its weight and what is in it, also i might make a small gamemode out of this ship.
BaconOnARock 22 May, 2014 @ 5:46pm
amazing. i have a computer without a graphix card (ill be getting that soon) and its a large ship with a hanger and guese what? it runs as good as having no ships in a world
1NQU1S1T10N 22 May, 2014 @ 4:22pm
THIS IS AWESOME, I can phase throught asteroids with FTL on even if i loose the back half of the ship, nice work
[C4Ke] Autumn 🍰 22 May, 2014 @ 3:30pm
Make this with co-op enabled<3
Wilson  [author] 21 May, 2014 @ 8:46am
yea i know i dont have much room left to work with and the dropout is just to dramtically slow you down, im waiting on a new updated to add a new system in though
Friend 21 May, 2014 @ 5:55am
The FTL dropout need revision. It pulls the ship downwards. A player should not be forced to turn off deck gravity in order to stop or start the FTL. Instead you could group the FTL gravity gen., and in order to stop just revers the gravity field. Same effect without the side effects. Oh and btw. very nice design! I like it!
Wilson  [author] 21 May, 2014 @ 1:07am
of course, until they realse something a bit more effective.
Panteradactyl 20 May, 2014 @ 3:40pm
FTL is gravitic propulsion, no?
