NEW UPDATE!
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2034226393
You said all instances of "value = " alone right?
"category_value =" doesn't count right?
God dammit! Thanks for your help! I will update it as soon as I can and give credits ;)
I will need your help on updating this mod for 3.3
Please post that on Updates and Bugs thread. Thank you!
Because I hate complaints without resolution, I decided to solve it myself by looking at the vanilla files:
1. Open the file "00_ethics.txt" for this mod
2. Replace all instances of 'value = ' with 'base = ' (Can be done in Notepad in like 15 seconds)
3. Save file
4. Enjoy proper empire generation
You go ahead make Super Edition if you want, no need for credits or anything.
Btw, if you upload your version I can make the thumbnail and banner pics like mine, make a name for your's (like HYPER or UBER or SUPER Edition) and share the link here on my descrition as an another official edition of this mod, crediting your work of course.
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\281990\2618645360\common\defines
Then open 00_defines2 and do this:
GOVERNMENT_CIVIC_POINTS_BASE = 99 # Number of civics you can choose.
ETHOS_MAX_POINTS = 99 # Number of points which you can spend on ethics.
And go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\281990\2618645360\common\species_archetypes
Then open 00_species_archetypes and do this:
@robot_trait_points = 99
@robot_max_traits = 99 #Number of traits a robot can have
@machine_trait_points = 99 #Points available for machine species trait picks
@machine_max_traits = 99 #Number of traits a machine species can have/pick
@species_trait_points = 99 #Points available for biological species trait picks
@species_max_traits = 99 #Number of traits a biological species can have/pick
This isn't a cheat mod, it's more like a realism or diversification mod.
Sorry for just answering now. I didn't make a version like that because I thought it could crash the game on some way, by exagerating the numbers.
Answering your last comment: If you read the description I've written, yes, they do influence the AI as well. It was how this mod was intended for, and, even if I wanted to help you, I don't think there is a way around :/ sorry.
I was hoping to do the same thing, can you remember where the location was to add more slots/points?
Ahahah same for me. I tend to overload it with realistic and functional mods. I think I stabilized a little bit for now.
Your welcome! Is it working well for you?
Try to verify integrity files, unsubscribe and subscribe again.
Anyways give Lite Edition a try
In this edition (STANDARD) I still paid some attention to the gameplay balance, but I don't think that the addition of traits to the Synthetic ones was so decisive that a non-synthetic biological being or a non-hive mind could not conquer the galaxy completely for their own. This is still possible, although the gameplay of the these species involves a bit more challenge, better economy and strategic intelligence, more attention to military, political and technological decisions.
Again, that's what the mod is looking for. Replicate the challenges that nature provides. Nature is cold, cruel and unforgiving. It's up to you to choose the species and row for or against nature ;)
This mod was not made to be balanced. It was meant for stellaris to be a little more realistic, at the price of balancing gameplay.
The question I asked in the ideological point of view of this mod is: "Is the creation of synthetic creatures realistic? Would it be that limited? Couldn't those creatures on reality have more traits? Both positive and negative?" - The answer is that, yes it could be more realistic, in fact, on a planet far away from us, a synthetic being could have far more traits, and this is precisely what this mod aims to accomplish. Freedom in creation and in the possibilities that exist to create a being with the different characteristics that are physically possible.
Yes, that's very odd. It's not common for species to mess with final resource and population calculations.
Yes, your help was great, thank you! I couldn't do it then, as I've been busy with my academic life. Fortunately, I found some time to fix this, gather your info in the discussion section, and upload the mods.
The next step is to test it. If you find errors, please mention it in the new discussion section above.
