@Nhovah
Almost certainly, but it's absolutely not achievement-compatible.
Nhovah 29 May @ 11:12am
Is this mod Ironman compatible?
cybrxkhan  [author] 27 May @ 7:10pm
@captain403 Thanks for confirming and helping with figuring this out!
captain403 27 May @ 6:45pm
Aye, that appears to have fixed it. Cheers.
cybrxkhan  [author] 27 May @ 6:39pm
@captain403 Just occurred to me that the devs have been releasing a crapton of hotfixes and updates recently, so I just checked and turns out they changed a few lines of the code in the only file I touch lol. I've just updated that file to account for their changes, which appears to have done something related to robot pops.

Hopefully the fix I just uploaded works. Try unsubscribing and resubscribing from the mod to make sure it updates properly, and hopefully that will take care of the issue. Thanks for your patience and help!

Discussion about it here, leading me to discover the problem. https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/app/281990/discussions/0/596276031230344266/

Tried to run a spiritualist Empire. The materialist attraction was strong enough to completely suppress ant spiritualist attraction. If I did everything I could to suppress the mats, the supposed attraction between the 2 ethics equalised, but the mats ignored that and continued to grow.
captain403 27 May @ 6:03pm
Yes, it happens when it's just this mod. No mods at all, it doesn't happen. Active just this again, it happens.
cybrxkhan  [author] 27 May @ 5:55pm
@captain403 Does the issue happen when you're running only this mod and no other mods? i.e., have you tried testing with this mod and disabling all other mods, even "minor" or cosmetic mods, to be safe?
captain403 27 May @ 2:51am
Ok, really odd bug to report. It seems this mod is forcing materialist attraction in the player empire. Process of new games with/without this mod points to this mod.
cybrxkhan  [author] 23 May @ 10:48pm
@Exodus You're welcome!

@Nyx I suspect it might cause issues.
Nyx (She/Her) 23 May @ 4:43pm
Will this still work for 3.14?
Exodus 21 May @ 11:27pm
Works in 4.0 Biogenesis.

Thanks for the update!
cybrxkhan  [author] 8 May @ 8:55pm
@MaiaOfMorgoth Thanks for the heads up! I've removed mentions of them per your request.
MaiaOfMorgoth 8 May @ 1:44pm
My (LittleIsaac) compatch for the older versions are olde and moldy and now hidden so you may want to remove those from your description. may or may not publish another in the future but I did those years ago and I don't rly keep up with this game anymore. love your mod as always
cybrxkhan  [author] 7 May @ 2:21pm
@Hawk No prob!
Hawk 6 May @ 9:29pm
Thank you for all the work. I looked at the code you mentioned in the mod description and couldn't figure out how to mess with it, so as with your other work, the mod is greatly appreciated.
cybrxkhan  [author] 6 May @ 9:21pm
Mod has been updated to 4.0. Thanks all for your patience!
Commander Silver Shield 6 May @ 2:59am
@cybrxkhan I was just letting you know about specific issues that need fixed.
Hawk 6 May @ 2:47am
Hope this gets updated soon. I started a game as the United Nations to try out features and sure enough every single one of my neighbors were dickheads making any federation style gameplay virtually impossible. Either it's still there or I got exceptionally unlucky.
cybrxkhan  [author] 5 May @ 6:27pm
@Commander Silver Shield: This mod has not been updated to the newest patch yet.
Commander Silver Shield 5 May @ 10:14am
This mod is removing all but one of the preset empires in the start screen and preventing the selection of most ethics in the empire creation menu.
cybrxkhan  [author] 12 Mar @ 4:27am
@theDehumanized This mod doesn't make any changes related to the rate of Hive Minds spawning. Sounds like really bad RNG on your part if I had to guess
theDehumanized 11 Mar @ 1:02pm
I don't know if this is the cause of me surrounded by hive empires , anyone?
cybrxkhan  [author] 13 Nov, 2024 @ 9:49pm
@Blackouto000 Probably would still need a compatch, yeah. Compatches for this mod are maintained by other people so I don't know if there's any up to date compatches.
Blackouto000 13 Nov, 2024 @ 6:37pm
Does this mod still need a compatch for Ethics and Civics Classic? Because it hasn't been updated in a while.
Celador 13 Nov, 2024 @ 12:17am
@cybrxkhan I see, thanks. Had to give up to a least hostile empire, didn't lose anything, now they are giving me resources, and cheaper tech, and I owe them nothing. God bless paradox and their weird game mechanics.
cybrxkhan  [author] 13 Nov, 2024 @ 12:10am
@Celador In vanilla, if you are a certain ethics, you are neither likelier nor less likelier to be next to certain personalities or ethics. It's just that in vanilla, Militaristic ethos is likelier overall for AI (regardless of what you yourself are), and Xenophile and Pacifist are less likely for AI (regardless of what you yourself are). My mod makes it so Militaristic, Xenophile, and Pacifist appears at the same rate as other ethoses. If you happen to be stuck with a lot of militarist xenophobes when using my mod, that's just bad luck of the draw.
Celador 12 Nov, 2024 @ 1:11am
Just to clarify - if my empire is xenophobe and militarist, is it normal that I am surrounded by militarist and xenophobes as well? I only have more ai personalities and no ethics spawn bias. I was thinking I'd get less hostile empires if I am hostile?
cybrxkhan  [author] 29 Oct, 2024 @ 9:40pm
Mod has been updated to 3.14!
sleepy 7 Oct, 2024 @ 8:59am
Great mod!
cybrxkhan  [author] 12 Sep, 2024 @ 11:06pm
Mod has been updated to 3.13/Vela! No major changes were needed to update thankfully. Let me know if there are any issues with the new version.

Thanks all for your patience and continued support!
cybrxkhan  [author] 11 Sep, 2024 @ 12:49am
Hello all, I am aware of the new update but have been busy this week. I'll try to get an update for my Stellaris mods out within the next couple days. I cannot guarantee if the mods still work with the new vanilla patch without any update needed, but feel free to try at your own risk. Thanks all for your understanding!
cybrxkhan  [author] 13 Jul, 2024 @ 1:21pm
Minor update is now up, it just forwards some tiny changes in the 00_ethics.txt file in the recent vanilla patch
cybrxkhan  [author] 16 Jun, 2024 @ 8:46pm
@ifti The two mods don't directly interact with each other, but because this mod makes the ethoses more even, it may slightly reduce or increase the chances various personalities appear - it shouldn't really be a noticeable difference in my opinion. For load order with these two, I don't think it matters.
ifti 16 Jun, 2024 @ 8:11pm
How does this interact with your mod "More AI Personalities"? Do those new ones just maintain equal weighting with the vanilla ones? Which one should be first in the load order?
cybrxkhan  [author] 10 May, 2024 @ 1:27am
@Kurisu gaming: I don't maintain the other patches so it'll be up to the other modders if they're still active and interested in maintaining that.
Kurisu gaming 10 May, 2024 @ 12:08am
sorry if this has been mentioned before, but when used with ethics and civics bug branch it for some reason caused the gestalt ethic to cost 3 points which breaks how bug branch does its gestalt ethics, I was wondering if there is a possible patch for this as the only patches listed aren't for bug branch
cybrxkhan  [author] 9 May, 2024 @ 1:57am
Mod has been updated to 3.12.

Also, while this is a routine update, today is the 8th anniversary of Stellaris, and only a few days away from the 8th anniversary of the release of my first Stellaris mod. Thus, although I don't mod Stellaris much these days, I want to thank you all the Stellaris mod users who've supported me over these past 8 years since I first modded Stellaris. Thank you all!
cybrxkhan  [author] 7 May, 2024 @ 11:37pm
Hello all, just as a heads up, I'm a bit busy this evening so I will put out an official update hopefully tomorrow evening. To be safe, I don't recommend running the mod until I have done some testing and put out the official update tomorrow to be safe.
cybrxkhan  [author] 13 Mar, 2024 @ 7:27pm
@RedShocktrooper Probably wouldn't be hard to do but I don't personally have any interest in doing something like that. You'd just need to modify a file named "00_ethics.txt" that has the code for all the ethoses, and change the random weight value for them.
RedShocktrooper 13 Mar, 2024 @ 4:07am
I'm curious, is there an option for an inverse - that is, a STRONGER bias for hostile AI?
cybrxkhan  [author] 28 Feb, 2024 @ 11:57pm
Mod has been updated to 3.11.
Salv 11 Feb, 2024 @ 2:25am
Ah ok, ty for the response.
cybrxkhan  [author] 11 Feb, 2024 @ 1:18am
@Salv In the code, the ethos file that I modify only affects Gestalt Consciousnesses overall, whether machine or hive minds. Authority is determined by a different file in Stellaris/common/governments/authorities/00_authorities.txt

I am not familiar with the code here, but a quick glance suggests the weighting for Hive Minds vs. Machine empires is exactly the same at 2. Actually, it looks like the weighting for most authorities is 2.
Salv 11 Feb, 2024 @ 12:40am
Hello, this is a random question, but it seems like a better place to ask then most considering the mod subject. I play only on 30 max empire galaxies, and machine empires are by far the rarest type I see even with maximum chances. Gestalts are usually uncommon, maybe only like 3 spawning at most. And it seems to be overwhelming slanted towards hive minds when they do spawn. Often, my games will have like 1 or 0 AI machine empires around, Do you know if there is anything in the code that would explain this, or am I just cosmically unlucky?
cybrxkhan  [author] 31 Dec, 2023 @ 10:05am
@Chad di Urbino: No problem!
Chad di Urbino 31 Dec, 2023 @ 7:27am
Thank you for your continued updates.

Mod has been updated to 3.10!
Juicebox 3 Nov, 2023 @ 11:25pm
I just tested it, it is indeed NOT compatible with achievements. Damn.
