@Hekateras, cool, I’ll give it a whirl. Thanks!

@D8alus : Should be fixed now on the CBF side. (The mod conflict was likely also affecting Lily from Into the Breach Agents.)

Thanks. Makes sense unfortunately, we'll fix that (look out for an update to CBF or Wilson or both). P.S., for the future, it's more efficient to troubleshoot this by removing mods one half at a time rather than one mod at a time. Just a tip you hopefully won't actually need :)

Guard was not in sight, (starter room), used wilson to peek. No guards in sight, no shadows appear. Guard walks in from other door and stops in starter room.

Removed all mods except this one and it worked as expected. I will be re-adding them one by one, I'll let you know when I find the culprit

(Continued) If Wilson can see the guard, then peeking will not spawn a shadow for him and this is intentional behaviour. I thought his ability would be a little too powerful if it allowed him to effectively replace Observe, especially since it works on multiple guards at once. Although I might change my mind about that, who knows... But if this still doesn't explain the issue you're having, it sounds like a mod conflict and I'll need to look into that.

@D8alus It's always possible that there's some kind of mod conflict, which I would want to know about it. But are you sure that there's a bug? Have you read the Gameplay guide thread? The most obvious thing might be, can Wilson currently see the guard who is about to patrol in? (such as by peeking through a door)
D8alus 22 Jan, 2024 @ 1:03pm
Ok, I'm an idiot for not thinking of that.

However, I am not seeing those in game. No shadow in room, guard walks in from other room and stops

The rest of Wilson's stuff seems to work fine. I guess I'll just deal, as this game does not play well with itself when disabling\re-enabling mods to troubleshoot. Thanks

@D8alus : Both the video and the fifth screenshot show you what the shadows should look like.

What do the shadows look like? I'm not seeing anything before a patrolling guard is visible, just like in vanilla This is after using peek.

Version 2.0 update:
I've made changes to Onfile Wilson - specifically, I've removed the direct short-range scan on peeking, so that his ability is now just the prediction of patrols via shadow detection. I've also amended tooltips to make the shadow mechanic clearer. The reason for this is that the shadow mechanic was always intended to be the main "gimmick" of the character, but the direct scan ability had a misleading effect about what his actual real power is. The only reason I didn't do this to begin with was because I was reluctant to throw away working code, but a cleaner design is worth it.

Oh cool, didn't realise that was possible, thank you for the great mod

I have no plans to add this as a feature, but it's very easy to edit the mod files yourself if all you want to customise it. In scripts.zip there is an agentdefs.lua file, it can be edited with a text editor and re-added to the scripts.zip. The 'kanim' line specifies which visual model is used. Of course, you'll need to re-do this edit if the mod is updated and the changes reverted. Glad you're having fun with it ^^

Not sure if this is the right place to ask but would there be an option to have the OF and AR Wilson look the same? Or have a toggle able option at least? All good if not, was just wondering if this would be considered maybe (mainly cause i'm having fun using drill augment return and putting AR Wilson aug onto the OF Wilson)

I've added a gameplay guide discussion thread that should help understand the more complex mechanics of Wilson's loadouts:

@Vrisskers Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you're happy with the balance.

Thanks for the heads-up regarding the Small Charge Pack. I hadn't considered it but I suppose I might just leave it as-is, since it does take a fair bit of resources to take advantage of...

I was being sceptical at first about this character - in my experience, characters crossovered from other games tend to be rather unbalanced - but Wilson here is charmingly pleasant to play, and is not overpowered at all! Even his Archived counterpart's ability to craft charge packs into items is fairly timid, considering it 1) always makes a random item, 2) doesn't, on average, create value and 3) takes all his AP for the turn to commence. While it can certainly produce some awesome results, it's not OP at all. I really love this concept!

Still, I've only played 'im for a few in-game days. It remains to be seen how well his balance fares in Endless. :3

One more thing I've noticed, though - he can craft a Small charge pack (added by a mod, can't tell which one for atm though) into a cheap item, and then that item into a Regular charge pack. Not really cheaty, given how problematic and unreliable this process turns out to be, but I'd better bring it to author's attention. :3
