Ah, I figured it out actually. Every torp has a maintenance cooldown value in the datasheets, it's set to 2100 seconds. It's very easy to change.

@Reiman & @Thinkflight there was a few pre-heat mod out there, it sucks they are not there anymore. They shouldn't of remove them from workshop.

I honestly do not remember what numbers to tweak that deal with pre-heat, I'm sure it isn't hard. The thing is, I have not done these mods in a long while, I do not remember what Uboat number relate to in real world times, I have to figure that out again. The numbers the Devs use for their times are very strange, I do not remember if they are in seconds or something else.

One question, would it be possible to also make a mod that increases how long torpedos stay pre-heated? There used to be a mod that increased it to 4 hours, but I can't seem to find it anymore.

Would that be easy to mod?

Realistic time is ~15 minutes per tube. One full set of tubes takes 40 to 60 minutes for the front four, so 10-15 minutes is realistic. Good mod though, 2.2 minutes is wayyyy too fast.

Ok, that is someth I was also looking for, hardcoded, understand. I have seen your MOD "longer pre-heating", probably you have changed it for torpedoes in Entities/Items, have seen that tag in XLSX

Yeah I changed Mounting and Greasing. Pre-heating is something I want to change, the duration it takes to do that action. Salamander told me it is hard-coded and I would have to write a script for it. Since I do not know how to code, I can not.

I do like use the mods that keep the torpedoes pre-heated longer, but want some a mod that allows the duration to be longer. Like something like my time in my mod.

Load Torpedo - Greasing Phase Duration 360

just checked it in 2022.1 Patch 13 and found that "pre-heating" is another part of this procedure, not affected with time increasing, so far good

9 Minute Reload is a very simple mod that adjust a few numbers in the General - Data Sheet, which means it is pretty much compatible with most mods.

@hellrider Yeah it works fine with Device Energy Management and Device Maintenance. I use to use both of those mods in my mod collection, but since removed them, because they have not been update with 2022.1. There has been some major changes in that patch that might affect both those mods. I am friends with the mod author Alligator, but have not seen him in a long while.

nice idea - is this compatible with energy MOD Device Energy management? there is a nice amout of energy depleted during torpedo warming, did you test it? I will ;)

@TumblrGoose A mod I want to do later on, is something that deals with the Mechanic time he charges up Torpedoes. If you watch the officer go over and maintain a torpedo, he seems to charge those T2 pretty fast. In my mind it would take a little longer to charge them up, like the physical action.

@TumblrGoose Yeah I was aware of the realistic times, but I was going for something more than the quick vanilla times. I tried some mods that would add in 20mins, even with 1 Officer and 2 Sailors. I felt like that never gave me time in a convoy.

I tested the 9min and watched the guys do it in game, and it felt right for me. From a semi-realistic view and fun gamepley. And that is with 1 Officer and 2 Sailors.

Now someone said with 1 lonely guy it would take 45mins to do it all, and honestly that sounded about right to me. If stressed and rushed, 1 guy in my mind could load it at 45mins. I could see myself doing all that in 45mins. Which is a long time. I just hope no one gets in that situation but it can happen when bad things happen at sea.

And yeah what you said it would take 40 mins, and that still can happen with one guy. This is still a game and I like to have fun, so I like to find balance with fun and better realism.

Hi Raven, I really love this mod as it add more realism in the game so I have to pick my target in convey attack!
From my 5 min google search, "Loading torpedoes was very laborious and generally took 40 min to an hour to reload a full set of tubes - it depends on the training of the crew, and of course the type of sub (and number of tubes!)." So 9 minutes per tube is actually pretty accurate lol!

@Dufti Thanks. I wanted a time that felt better than the 2.2 minutes vanilla game has. I did not want to go high with something like 30 minutes. I wanted a nice feel.

Well why not 10 minutes? I liked how the 4 minute mounting phase and 5 minute greasing phase came out in testing. 10 minutes I either did 4 minutes mounting and 6 minute greasing. I found the greasing felt way too long. So I settled on 9 minutes in testing in game.

@NzO I do not think anyone uses the mechanic without 2 sailors. He is the one that will always have 2 sailors.

Most, if not all torpedo loading time mods are built around the officer having 2 sailors. I think Torpedo Los! mod has a 10 min loading time and another has 20 min loading time and that is with officer and 2 max sailor.
