Yeah, responded to that in the comments a couple times now. ill add it to the description as you suggested
@SeanMungo, I get that you aren't playing anymore and maybe don't want to update the code and test, but a small note in the mod description that this kind of error is expected will probably save multiple people some troubleshooting time.
In the meantime, I made a thread in the discussions about it, so hopefully it'll be noticeable enough.
With no other mods, just the Core + DLCs loaded, when I add this mod, I get XML parsing errors:
XML error: <baseRecruitDifficulty>0.90</baseRecruitDifficulty> doesn't correspond to any field in type PawnKindDef. Context: <PawnKindDef ParentName="RoyalBase"><race>Human</race><defaultFactionType>Empire</defaultFactionType><maxGenerationAge>80</maxGenerationAge><backstoryCryptosleepCommonality>0.08</backstoryCryptosleepCommonality>
I know @SeqanMungo mentioned being on hiatus from the game, so maybe it's not up to date with the latest game changes?
(PART 2)
Truth be told, its again more on the fact that its more that im not playing the game myself atm to why im not making the compatibility patch myself.
but with that being said, should you need any help understanding code / figuring out how to do stuff etc. plz let me know. I would have no issues helping you via discord/screen share or just what files and how. coding does sort of get me excited, as well as sharing that knowledge, but it is really super simple once you get into it!
best of luck my friend, plz let me know how it goes.
(PART 1)
Truthfully having looked back on it, it probably wouldn't actually be that difficult to make these two mods compatible... well the permits part would be annoying as all hell but the titles part would just be simply tedious, not difficult.
You absolutely have my permission to try to make a compatibility patch if you up for that challenge :). I like many others use so very many mods that the community have made, that there really should be no reason for me to stop you from wanting to contribute, and I think that its amazing you want to do that! of course, credits are always appreciated both on my behalf and for the people who made vfe :P
I took a break from Rimworld for a while and I've played a long time with your mod. Like enigman I found out about the VEF - Empire mod and first thought was, if it's possible to play with both.
If you say, you don't play Rimworld or mod, would you mind if i tried to make a compatibility patch? No promises that it will happen or that it will be optimal... but I really like the title system you've made and, to be honest, VE tends to overdo things/ make them unpleasantly hard for casual gamer.
Happy easter!
I don't really play the game anymore, or rather am not currently, however taking a quick look, I think it is very much more worth to play with their mod rather then mine :O. They outclass me in everyway and their mod looks absolutely beautiful.
It would take quite a bit to make a compatibility btwn mine and theirs. Permits are really annoying to mod in, as everything is in a grid system for the UI. So every premit would have to be painstakingly re-adjusted.
That and their mod also adds a bunch of new titles as well. So it would be a give and take situation there on how to put them all together.
Perhaps sometime in the future if I come back to this game, I could look at making a patch to it, but im very very inept at mod making :o / with that being said I wish your the very best of luck and much fun in your games. I am so proud that they made something so amazing though, it really looks so awesome and pretty much what I envisioned when I made my mod years ago :P
Hmm.. idk if that would be fixable on my end, if I had to assume, the way they allocate their psycast points is probably based on their title in the mod itself. I would have to take a look to be sure, but my mod doesn't touch any psycasting stuff, any of the abilities etc, so I wouldn't even know where to begin to make a patch for that :o
This, psycasts expanded and maybe the factions to empires + rimarian empire mods combine so perfectly for an amazing royalty experience.
x) lol
Im very glad it worked out :P, please have fun! <3
I can only hope you possess the charisma and administrative capabilities necessary to both inspire and discipline these soldiers into understanding that there's more to war than combat.
Good days to you and may the Empire's glory be eternal.
any errors coming off the mod should be 100% ignored.

If you are missing any titles or permits are messed up, then it could be another mod overwriting mine that does the same thing.
If this is just about the errors it throws off, then its a non issue.
Im aware, but it has 0 effect on gameplay and can otherwise be ignored.
Yeah, the way permits are added to the game there in a grid system. So anything adding permits would break unless a patch was made.
Noted
Yeah, no doubt some situations like that could occur, they are really over powered if you can get them for free x)! Sorry im unable to properly balance that sort of situation, I honestly wasn't thinking about that when I made the mod.
Im sort of a psychopath and just went for the "I want more titles, and I want it to feel earned" when I did it :P
but ofc, rimworld among other games are RPGs where you yourself decide your story and build it up and play how you want which is just amazing :P
Potentially out of my skillset to add something like that :S
Oh No! xD!! I was so afraid reading that first part of the comment I thought something bigger was broken, will fix that super fast right now!! and tyvm for the very kind words :) I appreciate it and it means alot to me!
Good luck to your colony! ~salute
Love the mod though!
This will work with both 1.3 and 1.4
Ah I see :o, I was unaware of that, as back when I played it did seem to work, the recruitment difficulty I mean. where higher ranked nobles were much more difficult to recruit.
When I get a chance i'll yoink that part of the code :). ty for insight!
I have a rather long mid list but in 1.3 it worked fine with your mod. I got a log with the "baseRecruitementDifficulty" thing and from HAR I know taht this stat was removed:
"PawnKindDefs no longer have a baseRecruitDifficulty field. On closer inspection, this value was required but not actually used by any live code in 1.3. It can safely be deleted."
https://gist.github.com/73f882b42549683442d7f499ec13c693
went ahead and fixed it so it doesn't show up as incompatible :P.
I just did a fresh test, with just base game DLCs and this mod, and it worked fine. You must have a mod that conflicts with it. Everything is working as intended. It does throw a few errors about base recruitment difficulty but other than that it completely functions...
I see, thanks for testing it out. I will try to get an update out to fix it :)
Actually, I think this mod would work with the new update no problem O.O
I would have to check, but it was written in a way that it sort of future proofed itself. Unless there were very specific changes made to the royalty DLC, it honestly should work just fine!
@SeanMungo Thank you for the quick response.
They should require all their own stuff with this mod
Thanks very much for the input :D! Yeah same, I really didn't feel the immersion of nobility since it was just so easy to obtain, especially with the descriptions of nobility titles in vanilla.
At the end of the day, this was mostly made in the thought of RPG and Immersion more than anything else :D!
I totally agree that as the quests get harder you should receive more honor for them. Unfortunately I’m not that good at modding :P.
But as for the gold, I think that’s fair for the rank/title. Since immersively it shouldn’t be easy at all to obtain.
Now gameplay wise, well yeah. Practicality is often taken over immersion, but for myself this was the way I wanted it :). Ofc I did make a less cost version for those who actually want things attainable !! XD
(Side note I have like 400 mods and a bunch of mining stuff available, so focusing on getting gold to pay isn’t impossible for me in my playthrough, but ofc I know most people prolly dont have op games or op mods, and some even try to stick closely to vanilla which I totally respect.)
