@WAKER I see only 4 screenshots, none of them shows map. But to not get your hopes up, this is probably a suggestion for CDT not ns2+ or me. I am too lame for it, it's not in scope of NS2+, but should be probably part of the game/engine - universally scaling gui. Vindaloo since you dropped support for this can you make a mod that allows minimap to scale to 4k screens? Everything from minimap to HUD to team stats stays the same size if not smaller than before. You can't see anything on the mini map when you play at 4K. Also names (voice chat names) and kills start to stack on top of each other for some odd reason.

if only one thing got fixed for 4k it needs to be minimap (C key) because its impossible to play without the stinking map especially as an alien.

I am not gonna work on this anymore BECAUSE NS2+ has under HUD options choice of minimap player colors, it's a bit more agressive, not so subtle, but does a good enough job not to work on this. If you are playing on non NS2+ servers, I am sorry, but you shouldn't, it's awesome.
I don't know how long it's in NS2+, Mendasp told me year ago or so that he doesn't think it's a good fit when we can do it with the sprites, oh well. I should check the options more often. :)

This took longer than expected, anyway, new version. I might tune the colors after couple of maps. On high brightnes there seems little contrast, but have to check in game.

Hey Vindaloo, I cant post any pictures at the comments, I can add you and upload some screenshots at my profile but I´m not sure if you will see the same colors as I see when I take screenshots since you are still using your monitor. I´m using a Samsung SyncMaster T260HD (TN-Panel).

7: Can you post pictures how it looks on your monitor, with your phone/camera or at least screenshot and what monitor you use? I find, it changes a lot across different screens. But I hear you, coloring was one of my concerns. However I am not making the graphics for gorge tunnel, just changing some coloring. i could look into that thou.

Good mod but the blue for rines is just too dark and the symbol for gorge tunnels is too small.

@WAKER: That's not possible without code change and that would only bring incompatibility and consistency check problems, similar to what i already wrote around here. Sorry mate.

I also decided that colors are probably right, not gonna do any changes for now, if you think the colors arent different enough, let me know, possibly with picture taken by your camera/phone and monitor type. Thanks.

different color lines for each gorage tunnel would be awesome! not sure if NS2 has that functionality though

WAKER: don't worry about it, it's just on some monitors maybe there is not huge difference between the marine blue and marine buildings blue, same for aliens. I still have to play with it a bit more, it looks good on my gaming benq.

What the hell, I checked the image on my other (shitty) monitor and those aliens seem very similar in color tho their structures. Also kinda marines. :/ I will deal with it later tonight. gotta see how it plays first.

I think this is final version for now. The picture up there is almost it, need to find good game to take screenshot from, I tuned the green highlights a bit since.

Hmm, I am done for tonight, that additive coloring is messing my shit up, gotta repair those gorge tunnels and hydras and yellow centers that turned out green. Who would have thought that blue and yellow makes green. Too stupid tonight.

It works only if server has it allowed in consistency checking. All competitive servers do and most of publics I played on also allow this.

Just started working on second iteration, playing with colors, including yours and others sugestions.

Agreed, I was also talking with medasp and how this relates to ns+ mod and comp mod, changes incoming, but it's gonna take me about 2 days, can't work on it now.

also i am not sure if green is the best color for amrines because of the green cyst color. them being purple might look ugle but the contrast from all other colors migh make things easier to follow

you should make all gorge things pink or some other color like the hydra so:
Red=Aliens
Pink=Gorge buildings
Orange=team stuff

for marines it might be cool to have something for various buildings that are crucial targets to target like phases or arms labs...not sure on that part.

Definately adding this thanks!!! With those other changes this is will a god send since people can't place tunnels worth a damn -_-
