still works great . 2024.1.4

Just wanna thank you for making this. I couldn't understand the complicated math or meanings on how this shiz worked, and other places didn't explain it well enough. So having this tell me "You have x number of cycles left before it's active again" was a godsend. Thank you again.

It's nice to see that this mod is still relevant after the Hot Shots update. The calculated average the devs put in is nice, but this mod gives much more fine detail that is very useful.

Very nice! Thank you.

Awesome mod, thank you! What does the buffer value mean? Is that "the total mass of output"?

Understood, thanks for the quick response!

The turbine values are hardcoded, but those are unlikely to change. If they do, updating it is a simple matter. The values relating to the geyser are adaptive, so it should work even with custom steam geysers. I put all the vent thresholds in, even though stock geysers only use 5 or 2.

This is a cool mod, thanks! For the Steam Turbine calculations, does it use performance values read dynamically for the ST or are the values statically defined? In other words, if Klei were to change the performance values of the ST in a future patch, would this mod automatically compensate?

This is an awesome time-saver. I've needed this for a very long time. Hated alt-tabbing to-fro Excel and Oni. And I've been holding back from colonising planetoids with metal volcanoes because I was too lazy to do basic calculations repeatedly. Thank you thank you thank you!

That mod only shows the "total average" output. This mod includes a lot more information.

Thanks :). I am not. However i can be considered a mathematician.

Brilliant work! Are u mathmanician himself?

There are actually tricks you can do to get the energy out of even a cool steam vent, and they do take advantage of the heat energy down to 95°C. For example mathmanician's Clown Hat [forums.kleientertainment.com] tamer.

I did also consider giving the energy relative to 125°, but it fell into the "too much info" box to have both, and i didn't want to obscure the underlying data.

With an aquatuner you do actually get energy relative to the 95°, it's just that using water as coolant the aquatuner costs more than you receive. When you use supercoolant the aquatuner becomes approximately power-neutral and you get energy relative to 95°C.

Ideally the target temperature would be selectable, but for it all to be automatic i had to choose something, and 95°C is the fundamental limit.

Really like this mod, saves a lot of time! My only thought is that the thermal energy output calculation should only go down to 125°C, because below 125°C the turbine will stop running. So the thermal energy between 95°C and 125°C is impossible to get without aqautuners, and if you are using aquatuners you can cool lower than 95°C.
