One thing to note: The blueprints can only be changed around with whatever styles are currently available to your primary ideoligion. So, if your primary ideoligion changes for whatever reason then you will be limited to what styles that new ideoligion has. Meanwhile, when you change an already built object you can swap it to ANY style, even ones that are not available to the primary ideoligion. The former is great for immersion, whereas the latter is great for QOL and freedom of choice by the player. Do with that what you will.

For those looking for an alternative until this is updated (or it's picked up by someone else), there is Style Change Anytime and Change Style Anytime. They do very similar things but in different ways. While the second one, "Change Style," allows you to change the style of items already built like furniture and weapons/clothing, the first one, "Style Change," only changes blueprints. Furthermore, the blueprints can only be changed so long as no material has been added to the object in question. Both work in tandem so if you want you could use both, one to alter the blueprints before they are built and the other to alter objects that have already been built/manufactured.

+1 for an update to this fine mod please, if time allows.

RW sometimes pushes the randomization non-sense too far, and it's (very) frustrating for any player paying attention/roleplaying.

Any chance of an update?

I would also like an update if possible. This made it easier to manage what ideo style was built and prevented different ideo pawns from building something when I don't want them to. This is such a useful mod.

Just to clarify, while the 1.4 update added a similar functionality, that functionality is only possible when you own the Ideology expansion AND play a game with Ideoligion Styles inactive. It's a setting that must be activated during game creation, but doesn't help if you actually want to play with ideoligions active.

@Kevin i suppose it's from dub's bad hygiene

I reckon you should change how you select the style of build for the walls, and such structure.

Because I have to change each wall tile, this is a big turn down for the mod to me.

thank god. no more getting a "work for free" guest in and needing to convert them so they don't put hieroglyphs on my walls

Which floor is used in the kitchen in the screenshot? :)

Thank you for making this! I think it is useful for enhancing the immersive feeling and decorating the colony.

But would you add an "Any Style" option?
Sometimes I don't need to enforce a certain style, but a ideological colonist with a style to the building cannot build "None-Style" blueprint.

With this mod installed, pawns are unable to build non-styled furniture if the colony's default ideo has a style set for that furniture. For example, pawns are unable to build default 1x2 tables if the default style set is Techist.

It would be great if this mod would allow pawns to construct a different ideoligions' styles. Both to avoid needing multiple builders in multi-ideoligion colonies as well as to allow modded pawns (robots, etc) that lack an ideoligion to craft styled furniture.

Luneyl, that's exactly what i expect :)
Luneyl 16 Mar, 2022 @ 12:36pm
can we have an option to allow any pawn build in any ideo style?
Fantasy System 28 Jan, 2022 @ 3:38pm
It appears i am unable to change style when i select multiple walls or whatever at once, can you please fix?
rsty9 5 Dec, 2021 @ 1:49am
Thanks for the handy mod. Works with no issue.

One question, can you consider adding a function(or a mod) unlocks the style restriction? I always wanted a mod that enables us to construct with any style i want. Unfortunately, Vanilla only allows up-to 3 styles and multi-cultural colony for more various style is quite cumbersome.

thanks for this great mod saved me a lot of micromanagement headaches

I wasn't sure how it worked when I subscribed so I'll write it here for anyone else curious: There's a little dropdown button while you're placing the blueprint (just like there's a button to cancel) where you set what style you want. Works perfectly.

Thanks for making this, mate! I'll drop a silly steam medal.

@RoyalFox the function that sets the style when a frame is completed is really big and I don't want to replace it because that would probably cause incompatibilities, but you can get someone in an ideoligion without a table style or someone who isn't in an ideoligion at all (like a T1 or T2 android from Android Tiers) to build a table in the "None" style.
RoyalFox 24 Oct, 2021 @ 6:15am
Can you enable it so pawns are able to build furniture without a style set? Depending on places you build like in corners and next to walls some furniture like the Techist style Tables look pretty bad. I don't seem to be able to force build in that situation.
