@reticuli to add onto this 1. Causes sensory overload, soldiers already have an enormous amount of information they have to process quickly and shoving it into their eyeballs via screen doesn’t help. 2. It’s even more weight on your helmet, all that weight saving from the IHIPs is gone 3. Have information right in front of your face is extremely distracting when your trying to focus, let alone get shot at and try and focus

@reticuli then how come every soldier I’ve talked to bitched about them and they practically did an entire redesign of them for the V2??? If they were so loved they would have taken the computing parts and put them in the back and drastically reduced how much of your vision it covers.

This is supposed to have an attachment to the rifle to show the barrel viewpoint. Also, this really needs an animation to aim out of cover with just the barrel being exposed. Also, where is the automated ballistic calculator an pixel tracker? The Jets already have a camera that can "imitate" pixel tracking.

Check out A3TI mod and hit them up. IVAS fuses central square of the virtual retinal display, not the whole thing, with a larger portion of the image on the sides being only the low-light NV stuff.

As a stop-gap, Rad's goggles, especially his Pilot Helmet Integrated Vision uses all the available Thermal Imaging (TI) modes Arma 3 has stock. So, prior to even getting A3TI fusion type of capabilities, just mimicking what Rad did with his would likely go a long way, as some colors work better for certain situations.

TPW uses a HUD. You may be able to borrow his HUD from him, or talk him into adding your IVAS goggles into his mod:

To me that was all nonsense, I know nothing about making mods, hence why development is extremely slow and almost lacking entirely at the moment.

Even if you can't pull off A3TI fusion, it might be worth giving us multiple thermal color modes to choose from like Rad's Pilot Helmet (Integrated Vision) and making those a limited FOV compared to the NV mode, like using the GPNVG18 screen mask for the TI modes. If a fusion capability is eventually added, then 16:9 NV with a center square (9:9 aspect) of fusion overlayed in the middle would be best, with the further periphery on ultra-wide screens being transparent with no NV, TI, or fusion. The TPW HUD should work fine, and he might even be willing to either let you add his HUD to this or be talked into adding your IVAS to his TPW.

Also, IVAS, because it's just sending laser light from a Microvision virtual-retinal-display-through-waveguide off the front of the unit into your eyes, does not cause optical effects when you try to look through a scope while wearing it. You just can't put your face as close to the scope. So, the ACE thing where your NODs have to come off when you look through a scope shouldn't happen with IVAS, though it would be interesting if the scopes became slightly smaller and narrower FOV... not sure how you'd do that. However, look into hooking up with the peeps doing this:

because most of the time when using the XM157 and IVAS people do not bother bringing the rifle up to the face and will do PiP instead. If you turn on the Arma 3 crosshairs, obviously you can already spoof the 'floating reticle' mode to just carry it around John Wayne-style. MCC+TPW do pretty well for HUD.

I think you'll be in business. Obviously, the A3 stuff would be cool, too, but long term improvements, I would think. TPW already has a HUD you can easily integrate into this, or just use instead.

By the way, IVAS worked so well in the early phases that the Army told Congress it wanted no more ENVG-B and only wanted IVAS, much to the chagrin of L3/Harris and L3/Harris' shill members of Congress who are pushing for more money for the older, inferior, more expensive system.

Server administrators need both the bisign files (with the pbo files) and the public bikey. When they have both, they can enable the pbo signature verification which prevents people from connecting with altered versions of mods. Never disclosse the biprivatekey, its used for signing files when you make updates. People usually put the public key in a "keys" directory next to the "addons" directory.

This is fantastic!!! OPTRE HUD should make a great substitute until your HUD is ready. The recommended course of treatment option would be a real godsend for those of us who are ACE challenged.

Back in like September I was debating working on making a mod like this when I found a model for sale. Glad to see it got done in the end!
