@Ichinin sorry it took me awhile, been very busy with other things. So I checked out a house in Muldraugh near the Cortman Medical that has windows all around, a brick house in fenced community. I had no problem, if you can't see into the house either via curtains then you can't assess if there is an alarm in that house. The idea is that you can see inside and see the alarm system in some form or fashion.

Anywhere where there is a windows on the "northern" or "western" sides of the houses. On the sides i could see, i could check for alarms.

@Ichinin weird, i know it works pretty well. might be the way the viewing window is presented in the game. where were you experiencing this issue?

Working, but some apartment windows doesn't seem to be working (Looking North East or isometric "North", and North West or isometric "West"), you don't get the "This window has no alarm" notification or anything. Cars works though.

Tested using Build 41.78 + Multiplayer.

@rientelfon , I've only disabled as soon as I reached Electrical lv. 5 in non burglar characters, SO that would answer me why they fail XD

@Rey pollo what is your electrical skill? are you a burglar? there is still a chance of failure, it is mainly based on electrical skill + 25% for non-burglars and 50% for burglars. so you would have at best with electrical 10 a 75% chance of success.

@rientelfon nope, playing solo, alarm detected, disable with knife and scissors, get the motion sensor, door or window opened and the alarm goes on atm I put a foot inside.

I've been disabling alarms but they still go on sound, this works for detecting but not for disabling :c

@Ofdex i am not sure, that might be tricky to right-click inside a building on a controller. If you are able to achieve such a feat then it should be feasible.

The issue reported by Dizcordia still holds for MP. It seems that SP is the only way to enjoy this mod. I believe I had removed the MP tag because of that.

@UnRaCkS FisTs i just tested this, seems to still work. you must right-click on a tile inside the house/building, it can be tricky sometimes.

Great idea for a mod. I just can't quite tell whether it is working as intended now after reading the comments.
Is the issue Dizcordia mentioned only on MP servers?

Hey ! @rientelfon : you can forget my former report : I was using pillows random sce.ario "prison challenge" and it actually as a parameter to trigger alarm in the buildings you're in at random intervals. So ot's none of yojr business, it's pillow's ! ^^

@Dizcordia out of curiosity i used the cheat menu provided by PZ to enable/disable alarms for a house and it appears that doesn't work. so something wonky is going on within their internal code. i did see 1 more failure, after 4 successes in my test run in West Point

yeah, all updated. Even unsubbed the mod and resubbed it to ensure it update properly (even though Steam always auto updates mods anyways on game start).

Sort of at a loss at this point. May well just be a matter of waiting now to see if anyone else reports issues, as having results from just on person testing is not a very good sample size :)

@Dizcordia it should have worked with the new update. interesting, so more failures despite 100%. that is very interesting. ensure you have the latest version, i think PZ and Steam have worked together on being better about updates.

Hey no problem, I just wish I could bring better news. Test results on new update:

Burglar (50% success expected) = 2 Success and 8 fails.
Burglar + Electrical 10 (100% success expected) = 2 success and 3 fails.

In regards to the server sync functionality, is this something I need to enable/set somewhere or should it have just worked automatically as part of the mod?

@Dizcordia thank you for your patience and help troubleshooting. i started seeing failures when there should have been successes. i have implemented a server sync functionality and i noticed that this corrected the issue to where it worked for me every time. I used West Point as my test point because of the cluster of buildings. i did both houses and non-residential buildings.

Alarm frequency = very often
Zombie population = none.

Interesting, I don’t seem to be getting those results. Mine succeeds every time now that I have 100%. What settings are you using on your sandbox?

Cheers - test info for you since updating - all done on MP server.

Burglar (50% success expected) = 3 Success and 17 fails.
Burglar + Electrical 10 (100% success expected) = 1 success and 4 fails.

Ah okay, that would make sense. Felt like the fail chance was higher than just 25% but RNG can be that way. Give a shout when updated and I'll give it another test.

Ok, there is an error in the calculation, Burglars should have a higher chance. I will update, I think I saw last night it was 75

Unsubscribed all other mods, started fresh server with Burglar and bumped Electrical to 10, so that should be 100% disarm chance (so no chance to fail)? Disarmed alarm, forced open window, went inside and alarm still triggered. If it's just me that's having the issue don't worry too much about it, just thought I'd report back :)

Cheers for testing it and posting back the results. I shall try disabling all my other mods today and give it another go, see if it is indeed a mod conflict.

@Dizcordia scratch that, the base chance is accurate for burglars. so all in all, i found no issues. i suspect this may be a mod conflict from what i have done

@Dizcordia with 10 Electrical and as a Burglar with only the Disarm Alarm Mod with "Very Often" House Alarms, i was able to disable an alarm successfully. i was also able to trigger an alarm by breaking a window of a house that i detected an alarm. the only perplexing issue is my own "Alarmed" houses don't seem to work on MP servers, my theory is that this is not synced with the server so even though the client thinks it is alarmed, the server does not. i did not that the base chance for Burglars with 10 Electrical is incorrectly calculating the base chance.

Tried this out on multiplayer tonight but despite having Burglar and Electricity 10, disabling alarms was failing every time. Not quite sure if a bug or something I'm doing wrong?

@Golden Dragon i see... yeah, i am not sure then. i mean logically i can see a house alarm being bypassed if quick enough, but i don't know if there is any real-world capability of disabling a car alarm without simply removing the battery. if the game doesn't allow it because you need to have access to the hood probably, then i don't know if there is a real world way to disable a burglar alarm. watching a YT video it seem that disabling car alarms are pretty complex, much different than a house alarm.

@FoxHound / Xiang Lin also, when you say you see nothing, do you mean "No Alarm Detected"? or nothing appears? if nothing indicating "No Alarm Detected" then you are clicking in a spot that is probably not recognized as inside a building. you should at least see "No Alarm Detected" at a minimum when it is working properly

Hey there ! Thank you for that mod, it's excellent ! Especially for me, I love to escape prison as an incarcerated Burglar ! :P
However I was wondering, in multiple instances, an alarm went off even after I checked ALL windows and didn't see an alarm. Could it be a bug ? Or am I doing it wrong ? :'(
