The wraith trap room is small, but there is another invisible teleporter in that small space.

I am struggling with the wraith trap. I found a button across where the orcs were, but it did not do anything to help. I've gone through the hidden door with dragon key but still cannot see how to get a player out of the trap. I'd appreciate any guidance :-)

This was a 50x50 map submission for competition last year, it is not a campaign. Just me seeing what the DM could do back then.

Complicted starting positions in the battles that made them hard, but I found it short and lacking in backstory and roleplaing encounters.

It's so good I feel orphan now that I have finished it. Started with fresh lv 6 characters and some extra difficulty modifiers. Each step in this is a huge challenge, very outnumbered, strategic and extremely fun. An aoe spellcaster would have helped some but without it was very fun and had to retry most fights 2 to 3 times.

Yes, Camarth, that is working properly. Dirty Tricks! Glad you are enjoying this, and I am working, slowly but surely, on the entire Dragonstone Saga campaign (1-12). This module (Legend of Dragonstone) is part 3 of the adventure.

Hey EricWisdom,

Thank you for making this adventure, I just started playing and I'm enjoying it greatly. I wanted to ask about something specific to see if there's clues I'm missing or if it's expected.

After the phantom fight (Where approaching the chest teleports you to another room) I finished the combat and figured out how to get out, but I am unable to loot the chest because I get teleported instantly. Is this expected and I should ignore not looting it or is there something left to figure out?

Yes, I am fond of Silverquick's work as well. I am honestly surprised that Tomb of Horrors hasn't been done yet, as it's the perfect module for a max level party.

Well that's Silverquick's lane for sure! But I appreciate the suggestion just the same.

This module in the Dragonstone campaign was my attempt to see what the Dungeon Maker could do at the time, and now with the expanded DM and all the work on the CE, it is quite the tool... and nowhere near what it will end up becoming, I believe.

Just started this module, and I am enjoying it so far. I'm actually playing it on a custom level (essentially between Scavenger and Cataclysm) and although I find it challenging it's certainly far from unplayable at this difficulty level. Instead of just overpowering your enemies (which I normally can) I have to employ tactics to win battles (which is how it should be).

Thanks, Lninefingers, but in your defense, this module was created when it was possible to get sneak attack on every encounter... with the new surprise rules, I imagine this is significantly harder than it already was to begin with. I will be adjusting balance during the Campaign creation process.

So a friend of mine (sheesh, some friend huh?) rec'd this to me with the prerequisite warning: It's um.. hard. Well, I thought to myself, I'm an old scar-face vet; I can handle hard.

So I fired it up. At one point, I was cursing your name. At another, I believe I was tearing at my hair. I may have (emphasis on MAY) whimpered at one point. But seeing as there was no one around to verify the whimper, I'll deny it until forthcoming evidence is produced.

But yeah, spot on, tight atmosphere. As good as any I've seen since dare I say.. my own. Which I will not shamelessly self-promote at this time. All-in-all you're one of the few I'm interested in seeing make a full campaign.

Keep in mind as you update, that's there a big difference between a single player controlling all 4 toons can defeat and what a group of four different individuals all with different ideas on how to face a fight can defeat. Also, no space bar for pause in multiplayer.

You mean the trap... no you are not bugged, you just didn't look around. Some things (like teleporters) are invisible. If you are bugged, you are the first to be bugged in the few months that Dragonstone has been available.

Bugged. I'd really looked forward to this, but I ran into unsolvable issues. :/ My characters ended up stuck in parts of the map they could not leave, and that was after an hour or so of combat.

Thank you, daniele! That is really nice to hear.

As soon as the new build for the Dungeon Maker is released, I will get back to making an entire campaign. Probably multiple campaigns, provided I can get over how publicly the contest creator slagged my work.

This was my first attempt at creating content with the (Alpha) DM toolset, which was a challenge for us all, but if I am ever provided the opportunity to work in 3D fully, I will make it a full-time hobby.

I saw what he could do a few months ago, and I was blown away. His atmosphere, design, combat mechanics, lore, are all blueprints, guideposts for what we are all trying to do with Solasta DM.

The aforementioned "late side-quest area" was over-tuned.

In the next update (coming soon) There will be balance adjustments, mostly downgrades, and an end room overhaul. As it stands, this adventure can be punishing during a couple of late-game encounters, and I want to avoid that. The full Dragonstone Saga will be more in line with level-appropriate CR. Still tough though, and tactics heavy throughout.

End room exit, lore positioning, stuck Sorak, and a few other QoL improvements, coming very soon. DM me anything critical you find in the next few days prior to update, if you could.

My thanks to LJ, BgR, Cervando, vel, and many others for invaluable playtesting.

If anyone can run this on Cataclysm, let me know!

Bravo, it was nice to play something truly designed for the hardcore crowd. Lots of surprising encounters than run differently than most adventures, so it keeps you on your toes throughout. Lots of good writing in there too. I'd recommend playing it at LV 7 with a cleric in your party on Authentic with Deadly AI. Or if you really want a "Prepare to Die" experience and don't mind a few TPKs, try LV 6 with no cleric or paladin.

Just finished this epic adventure. It is brutal, you will feel that you are entering into something horrendous. You will fight and weep for your fallen heroes. Great lore, even greater design and aesthetics. Run it in authentic difficulty without somatic component and loaded many times. If you feel frustrated, adjust difficulty and enjoy!
