Being a new player, but finding undead really interesting, makes me wonder how to heal as a skeleton main character. Just dealing damage to enemies does not do it, and the initial skills you can unlock as a scholar/scout heal so deal damage to you I assume.

How to unlock ruin abilites for healing?

I found a couple of these guys and they look great. Somehow one got ribs colored off by 1 skin color, it's not bad with some colors

They make terrible sailors though, their HP is always dented and starts lower in naval battle, I think the effects of general party healing must be life based and hurt them. They're probably better suited as main party members.

It's more like when you miss school or work from being sick. The phrasing is technically correct but you're not actually missing it. They've made a conscious choice. They've literally got nothing to hide.

I mean, it's never done if someone want something else. Hireables of both types will now spawn in Ahlvarza and Eyrerock as well, so you can get a full team of either type if you like and do a bit of travelling. And i found a rogue pixel so hopefully it's the right/only one.

Now just nitpicking, since Midos and Wraele can yeah 1 of each type each, the final result will always be 2-3 or 3-2 for ribs vs class. I wanted to use the ribs for a monk punchy type and have 4 class ones to help diferenciate them. I can do that with heads and this isn't a big deal. and if you call this mod done I will agree it is, but if you ever revisit. that'd be my only nitpick :P

(Also I think of of the heads have a peach/brown pixel thatis on a lower left portion of the head)

Ok, it's all fixed up, i've tested and confirmed that at least one of each type of skeleton will spawn at both Port Midos and Wraele. Let me know if there's anything else i can do!

Ok, the new update should allow them to spawn in Wraele and should hopefully let more than one spawn of each kind spawn in each cafe. I'll need to do more testing to know for sure but it shouldn't cause any problems and you should be able to get a full crew. Not sure if these changes will work on an existing save...

Maybe adding them to another port like Wraele might help since I do rounds from Midos to Wraele to reset Cafes, If I can only get 1 of each from cafes,I'd get 2 from Midos, 2 from Wraele and 1 from main character

some feedback from further testing, almost an hour in, got 1 skel of each kind from midos quite early,now can't seem to find another one from Midos anymore. also it seems I do get empty cafes now and again now that I have 1 of each. I might also be unlucky '^^

Also I should be clear it's not that the Trinura mod is a problem, it's that we only have two options, completely replace a ports spawns which some players may be annoyed with, or just add to the bottom of the spawn list, but the spawn list seems to have a higher probability the higher up in the list it is (in the default some ports have the same species in the first two ranks which seems to make them spawn most of the time), so when you get to fourth (where the clothed skeleton is) it's fairly unlikely and i think fifth place just doesn't spawn or is super rare.

So most mods just add to the list, with most ports already having two or three records. It's a bit of a mess honestly. That's why i'll just have to start making my own locations. I kind of want to see if i can make you sacrifice a crew member - like they're dead and gone and reanimate them as a skeleton. Embrace the necromancy.

Honestly this mod user is awesome! I've just been walking around with my new skeleton with his glorious ribs and his wooden shield and sword strapped to his back and it's pretty dang great. I'm loving no costumes and costumes without green hands. Might tidy up some of the animations here and there in a bit.

BUT. You motivated me to upgrade and fix this. Which also motivated me to fix my other mod so now i'm getting their spawning working and am super stoked about that. Anyway, I only worked on my mods because there was GLORIOUS FEEDBACK. So. Thanks yo.

successfuly recruited one by removing mods I wasn't using anymore (all races recruitable in inside sea, Trinura and Myconid) probably Triruna was the problematic one. have recruited a ribby one, I'll continue to see if I get a class chested one

Hmmm. Ok. So from looking at save games it is adding the hiring lines to the port, after the existing lines, in order of whichever mod is top of the list. If you move my mod above the Trinura one it should spawn - tested it myself. Also, i agree, green hands have got to go on the class ones, doing that now.

Hmmm, yeah, i have a ton of mods too, including the Trinura (three eyed frogs). Let me play around a bit, I was running from my local mod so let me try with the steam downloaded version. Also from previous testing i suspect only new games will reflect the hiring changes.

Also, sorry, you're saying there's green hands on the without class outfit ones?

After quite a bit of testing, Port Midos never yielded Skeletons of any kind. what worries me is that there were days without anyone in the cafe which I never remember happening before.

Important to know that I run many mods (45 roughly) including somes that adds potential recruit in ports including Midos, such as the frog thingie (truim something) and other base races

Also When I tested Green hand was still a thing on the class overwrite ones, which I don't know was suposed to be fixed or not

First thing that came to mind was Skull and Crossbones - the pirate flag, but that's too long so I'm kinda digging Crossbones - which then made me decide to start a new game and make a crew of skeleton pirates probably using a lot of crossbows.

Ok, sailed into port midos and hired myself a second skeleton, so this should be good to go.

Well, it's a good thing i test, i did a sloppy job creating the second file and accidentally replaced the image file names, so the without version was just all big white boxes. Fixed that, testing the hireable part now.

Yeah, i saw the paldrons (at first i thought it was the clasps of a cape since you can't see the back) but figured i'd figure out how to remove them if someone disliked them :D but yeah, at least you can differentiate between your guys if we get you that full team

I think greenhand is fixed, there should be a new version available right now to download which corrects that.

Working on with and without both being available as well as setting them up as hirable in Port Midos (for now). That's usually the first port you end up at so seems like a good default. Both with and without versions should be available as crew and starter character, and the ones with should hopefully have a default class and therefore visible outfit so you know which one you're hiring :D - Just testing all of that right now, if it works i'll upload shortly.

Long term i'd like to make a location mod where you can find spooky bois.

tested it just now, it doesn't overwrite the chest area and we get the ribs, but it does replace shoulder to elbow and so you can colorize a very small part and they get pauldrons if knight etc, this is weird, but actually kinda cool !

Well first of all, awesome, thanks for the support especially since this is a mod and not official content.

I like the idea for both WITH and WITHOUT class priority, your design for the ribcage is great as mentionned by Mafe, class priority might help diferenciate them in a team of 5 skeletons so I remeber which is a skeleton soldier and which is a caster XD

But honnestly they are both great Ideas especialy if green hand can be fixed :D

Ok, i figured this out. I just needed to add a line of partSpritesThatTakePriorityOverClass for each body part, now no class outfits load over top of that super sweet skeleton sprite i worked so hard on.

If someone wants a version that does apply class outfits let me know and i'll... put both in this mod. Now that i've got this figured out I'll play around with a color customizable version as well.

let me know if there's anything else i can do (or try to figure out how to do anyway)...

About port, I can't think of one that would really fit. any would do, but none seems to fit "theme wise"

About the hands, if you could let us change their skin same you change it for other race and have white and brown skin, it would fix it for me. No idea how hard/easy it'd be to implement, but I could see that as a fix ^^

Hello. Unfortunately these guys don't spawn in cafe's... although i guess i could add that. suggestions on vaguely appropriate ports?

also the green hands on creation is the class outfit applying, agreed, doesn't look great but I don't think there's a way to stop that from happening... that i'm aware of anyway. Sorry!

Ok, tested quickly on a new game, didn't to check about them spawning in cafes, but once you choose them as a main character, they get green arms (like those of Buralks) which really make them look weird (not in a good way) If I could at least make them White (bone) or brown (gloves) it would be a workaround I guess, but green is a bit too... out there.

Haven't tested it yet as I'm at work. will they appear both as choice for main characters AND in some Cafe's along the way ? I'd like to get a full team of these bad boys.

Also while they get damaged from healing, can they still be revived through Items or Spells ?
