@Technical Difficulties I agree with Dragon32. Iridar's Hand to Hand mod is more what you are looking for. This mod cannot be changed to what you want from config edits, you would have to custom build a version for yourself.

I'm not really experienced in file editing for X2, but would it be possible to edit this so that rather than only targeting low health enemies and simply one-shotting them, it instead can target anyone but deals flat damage? I've been looking for something like the universal melee attack from Chimera Squad, and this is the only mod I've found that tries something even remotely similar to that.

Hello author, your mod is very good and interesting. But is there any way to set the value of MAX.HEALTH_SUBDUE to 30% of the enemy's maximum health? I have no idea about this, please ask me for your advice.

If you want to exclude Faceless you can add them. We don't want to do major restrictions because you can stun mutons and vipers.

Faceless isn't listed. Is it a simple case of adding it to the blacklist? - on a side note the skirmisher pull&slash can only target humanoids, could a similar condition be added/

@pogoman Unconscious units are considered neutralized for missions purposes, but they are not dead which means no body. The goal of this tooling is to give another option in the toolbox.

i knocked a unit unconscious and completed a non evac neutralise all enemies, and the soldier wasnt available for autotopsy? so theres no point to knocking unconscious might as well kill?

Yep, I want the interrogation and capture mod to work, so I only make things unconscious when I want them to be. Besides most of my LWOTC ModJam list needs No Unconscious AI as well so i just want it all to work together.

Also don't have to do it if you don't have these problems :).

Not sure if anyone has posted about this before but you can make No Unconscious AI and this mod compatible.

If you go to No Unconscious AI's XcomGame.ini and add the following line to it, it will allow this mod's ability to knock things unconscious:

+ExcludedAbilities="FTB_StayDown"

@8bit shadow I was doing an update for some config flexibility and added experimental support for cleansing Mind Control with Stay Down to try and stop the situation you reported.

hmm...not sure if it'd work but as a workaround;
If a unit is mind controlled then apply stasis, remove it then apply the stun normally.

As stasis removes MC and (iirc) stun AND (at least I'm pretty sure) no other effects; it should be a 'safe' way to remove the MC effect so that the stun effect can be applied safely (though it'll override other stun effects).
(iirc removing MC directly, either through mod or console, has similar issues too)

@8bit shadow I think that is actually a bug with the base game Stunned status effect. I seem to recall hearing somewhere that stunning MC units does bad things to the Firaxis code behind the scenes.

mod seems to entirely break for stunning friendlies (e.g. mind controlled) if you have a mod that adds free-cost non-turn ending actions like the "LOS Preview Ability" mod.

The friendly will be permanently stunned (but still able to move around) until the unit that stunned it is killed.

@Lux Manifestus I have not tested it recently, but technically there is an auto-capture mechanic built into MOCX. If combat ends while a MOCX unit is unconscious and Spec-Op Durability triggered for that unit, auto-capture should be attempted. That is part of the reason why I upgraded Stay Down to purge the Dark Evac when used, so that this scenario theoretically may now be doable.

Extracting the MOCX soldiers is a real pain in the ass. Are there any configuration settings that will make end-of-mission unconscious unit capturing possible?

Hmmm, no, I'm not running LWOTC. I looked through my entire mod list and found nothing that should add it. A quandary within a mystery. Thanks for letting me know. :)

@Lux Manifestus I do not know where that second ability came from, but it is most definitely not this mod. A quick search of the core game shows Knockout is the internal name for the dark VIP subdue ability. Are you playing LWOTC? It may be something they added to the game.

When I'm able to knock out a stunned unit, I'm seeing two abilities on the ability bar that can knock out a unit. One is the 'Stay Down' ability from this mod and the other is 'Knockout' with a blue fist icon (same as subdue) that says it can knock out a stunned, panicked or mind controlled unit. Does anyone know where this ability is coming from? Is it vanilla? If it is vanilla (or from this mod), do we need the 'Stay Down' ability as well?

I think I may have figured out why this mod and LWOTC arent working right.
You see "Recruitable aliens for LWOTC", a mod that most folks would want this mod to go along with, has "No Unconscious AI" set as a requirement for some reason.
that mod is most likely what's causing 'Stay down' to only add onto the Stun timer since that is what "no unconscious AI" says it does on its page;
"I decided to create a fix which makes abilities apply a 4 AP Stun to AI-controlled targets instead (the value is configurable, player-controlled units still become Unconscious)".
so yeah that's what seems to be the problem, i dont know if "Recuitable aliens LWOTC" works without it yet but I'll get back to Y'all on that after testing.

@SatanicSerpent As well, if using Alternate Mod Launcher, if you select this mod you will see tabs at the bottom. Click on the Config tab and then select the config you want to see/edit in the drop-down and after editing the config there, click Save to finalize it.

i cant seem to find where i can edit the config for this mod, i even tried searching Xcomgamedata in my files and the only three i found were the default game stats, not this mod :( can someone help me

Hello. I'm sorry to trouble you. But I still didn’t fully understand how the mod worked. All requirements are met, In front of me is an Operative with minimal HP. stunned and everything is perfect! My fighter is right next to him. in fact, just cut it out and that's it, take the warm one. But the feature never showed up. As a result, I had to eliminate the entire detachment of the enemy and disrupt my plans.

@EM try cutting the folder from the default mods folder into the Mods directory of your WOTC (usually looking like \steamapps\common\XCOM 2\XCom2-WarOfTheChosen\XComGame\Mods" if the Mods folder doesnt exist make one. Then use AML to enable this newly moved mod. I tried this for several other mods to good results

This mod was working for quite some time for me but recently came back to the game and I am also having an issue where stay down doesn't seem to be working properly. I am using lwotc. Seems to just add to the knockout timer.
