Found a crazy bug in the Mod. All my cities, despite the population, only have one field worker in the city screen. so, of course my city is starving at anything over a population of 4.

Didn't notice this until after my horseman brought back a citizen from a barbarian kill. Not sure if that is related. Hope this helps you recreate the bug on your side.
