Put in and tested the trigger today for a roof area warning, but I realized when I went to upload it that some things are missing due to a computer failure this week. On a backup machine, but I will need to recreate some things for the uploads. For both this and the KFO. I may find some backups of what I had also.

I'll see what I can do. Sign post might work best since the trader is a trigger thing from the last kill. Good idea!

You're right, the only other maps that also have a trader where it comes down from above is Temple of the Gods and DeathPit-Revamped(that I remember of, not sure if there are any other maps with traders that come down from above and also have other traders like yours) but they're single trader so it works fine for them.

Hmmm.....I suppose while you find those out, maybe add a message or sign post saying don't stand in this area when you kill the last zed or you will be trapped during trader time, but will be freed afterwards though you will need to live off of whatever you had last wave?

I've even asked at the TWI website where they have a map makers forum.. no luck I am afraid. Other maps that have "open" traders like Temple of the Gods only have the one trader, so it isn't an issue. Other maps have trader areas that you can go to during the wave don't really want to do that either... if you know of anyone that has a solution let me know.

The boot is a Monty Python inspired thing... at the end of the KFO after you defeet all the Patriarchs a giant boot drops in the yard.. but ya would be cruel up there. He he

I will look into this map as well, not sure what trader is using Volume 1 so I'm not sure what the issue might me until I check it. Might be the roof one since players enter the trader zone when it is closed, but I will need to see to be sure.

The first one may be the teleporters on the map, the devs avoid using them, this may be one of the reasons why, but I will look into it.

Well I camped at the top of the stairs and zeds pushed me back to where the trader would be at and then I killed the last zed and then this forcefield came over me and I got trapped. hahaha

Oh ok, fair enough, perhaps message other map makers who have done something liek this before for assistance?

Hm, I've also checked my log and it seems to be spamming this line quite a bit:

The only two real solutions would be to close the roof off with a door and only let people in during the trader time.. or remove the trader.

I didn't like either of those two options so I did what I could to make it work. I don't know how to code or make custom trader thing from scratch that could stay off or have the trader zone move or something.. I just don't even know if that would be possible to be honest.

I suppose I could change it to the giant boot that would crush players after a short warning, but that might be too cruel... the reapers are bad enough lol

If you are camping to the front, don't see much for camping in the back, I made it so you can jump onto the "I love Earth" sign and step down off the end of that in a nice drop off. You can not stay on the sign however since a glass mover comes out and will knock you off it.
The best thing to do in KF in general though is to get to the next trader before you kill all the zeds, this would get you away from the blocker when it is not the trader zone.

The blocker has an angled side to push you away but it isn't perfect.

Ah I see.... I thought it was some sort of hidden trap you laid for those roof campers and then when trader comes, they are trapped there inside and can't move until trader time is up and then the force field goes away and then they will have to live with whatever they have before getting trapped.....

Wouldn't the blocker disappear as soon as the trader comes down? Which means you'll fall on the ground before jumping onto the ship/trader thingy...?

Ok so the trap wasn't intentional, but maybe let us walk through it if we are camping there and the trader isnt the roof one and we killed the last zed whislt on the roof...whilst still keeping the trader up there?

Ha ha ha ... that is a mover to block the roof trader when it is not the roof trader....

To explain - I could not turn off the ability to trade there.. by the game code every trader becomes active during a trader time, but the player is kept out of all but one area due to locked doors.

In order to have Zims ship come down with the trader bot into an "open" area I had to find a way to block it during other trader times.. it is tricky but you can actually jump on top of it and fly up with it when the trader time ends.

Not the most elegant solution but the only way I could get the trader up there without players always being able to use that one or locking up the roof area except during trader times.

Besides almost getting raped a by a bunch of sirens and being bounced back down because a crawler is underneath you making you start the scaling process again from where ever you landed from, it works even in multiplayer too. ^_^

Will do, I guess you verified the issue then, thanks. Figured that is what it was. I intend to put in a cube frame that will drop out when players enter it.. should do the trick. A bit busy now but should have it done in about a week. Thanks again for the feedback!! Need one on the last world too, that spot is a bit small and needs some kind of indication also.

Ah yes it is wave base - I must be too sleepy to have not notice there was no O after F in KFO......

So will you please update the KFO EZ and KFO PBZ one so you have a mark that tells players to stand right in front of TV? It's good for new playser who haven't played the map before and thinking maybe the map is broken though it's not.....

The KF maps just have the house area while the KFO versions include 3 other worlds you teleport to.

This is the standard 10 wave map.
This map has "reaper" mover gnomes in the yard that will kill you making the yard very dangerous.
The EZ one of this has removed yard reaper death.
I think there is an EZ version KFO zims house that is Objective but has lower spawn rates than the original Planetary Battleground Z objective one... PBZ is most likely impossible to do on HOE

fits the horror theme i used to watch this show as a kid and it scared me every time. therte were several episodes that were banned because they were deemed too scary for children to watch

switch on wall in corridor entering the top of the teleport chamber in space. Sign above switch, you have to get right up to it. Thinking of eliminating it in an EZ version out soon though. Just outside the big fat airlock door on right side, weapon spawn on floor in front of switch also. Use once for power up timer that turns on teleport in space room. switch can be triggered after that but the start up sequence is one time only.

@GunsForBuck Thank you for taking my critique for what it is, just genuine constructive criticism. The map is really cool, and a great homage to the show, but, as I said, the few tricks and tweaks in it could make it a bit better.

I am kind of on the fence about changing the teleport start up sequence... as it is some zeds get trapped lower down in the teleport room ... the good side of it, is that it gets the player to go down there and can hit the teleport switch... once the zeds can track though the teleport properly they don't get stuck there... not completely bad, and I like to give the players some interaction with the map as well... but things would go smoother from the start if I just enabled it from the get go, esp those unfamilure with the map.
Any opinions in this regard are sought so let me know and I can make changes during the update... also considering an EZ version of this map with elimination of the yard trader... but again I feel it would take away from the unique dangers this map represents... but if enough people want it I will make one.

It's a cool map and all, the idea is nice, but honestly, it is kind of a botchd operation to me. The inside of Zim's house is fine, but then the underground lab looks nothing like anything from the show, then there's the weird space room at the bottom that just confused me, not to mention that unless you know ahead of time, you may have no idea where you're supposed to go, either to find the rest of the horde, or for the trader. Plus, what's with the giant pixelated image out front? It's just kind of... There. Anyway, good idea, good try, could use some work.
