Oof! I forgot a lot of my stuff got wiped! Some of these I might have to do from the ground up again so if anyone has any ideas or requests, now's the time while I'm having to go through everything.

Phew! I finally got my own game finished and released on Steam. Now that I have more free time I got that Zomboid itch that needs a'scratchin! I think in hindsight my feelings were more of a me problem now that I have time to breathe. I also know that some people from here supported my game's Early Access and I wanted to say "thank you" somehow. So consider these mods back in action! I've got to get familiar with the new mod procedures and then everyone can expect updates. Maybe even some new mods! Stay alive out there o/

@Inferno - For this mod? It was awhile ago but if I remember correctly the last time I updated this I added Sandbox settings for players to choose how far away zombies track blood (making Scent of Blood lite obsolete), whether or not dirty bandages attract blood, and whether or not the player only wants the zombies to track blood from "deep wounds".

When you enable the "bloody bandages" option, after a while the sound of the character's footsteps starts to loop (especially if you go into the house. you need to play for a while more). and maybe this mod also duplicates items (they wrote in the comments). other mods are included besides it. mod alone didn't have time to check :(

I love this mod. A friend of mine has it on his realistic pvp server. It works GREAT! I have bandaged a wound and would forget about checking it. When I start seeing zombies trickle in, when i just cleared a small area so i could loot a place or repair my car and such. I would think it was just a wonderer, then another and another then more show up, and I am like holy crap! I check my health and a bandage would be dirty. Ya need to keep checking those bandages, because you can get neck deep in zombies if you aren't careful! LOL Such a great mod. Thanks a bunch!!:steamthumbsup:

@Yamero - This mod has nothing to do with items. If items are being duped, then there's some other mod malfunctioning.

@IsmaelPZ - Thanks Ismael! Glad the video helped. I keep meaning to do another.

@zom449panda - if you max out the range, it will draw zombies from your entire cell.

This mod has finally been updated to include Sandbox Setting options.

- Players with bleeding wounds attract zombies.
- Zombies are not attracted to zombie blood (like blood on clothing).
- Set how far away zombies can detect blood in Sandbox Settings.
- Choose whether or not Zombies are attracted to dirty blood-soaked bandages.
- Choose if you want Zombies to only be attracted to Deep Wound injuries.

This mod is creating errors like dupe items and this you can see in the game like down right corner after creating new characters you can see erros nubmer 6,7,8 and etc

@OgreLeg hey no worries, thanks for the initial code! :) I'll go back in at some point too and add some of the suggestions people brought up in your comments too. I like the idea of setting options for scratches vs. deep wounds and such.

Actually, I looked at the code for your mod and was able to make it fully customizable with sandbox settings as well as fixed the issue with clean bandages causing zombie tracking. Are you okay if I upload this to the workshop with full credit to you having created the code initially?

Hmmm I'm getting the same issue where zombies are tracking a scratch that is not actively bleeding and it is also bandaged. There was no zombie around me, went to bed and woke up to 40 zombies crashing into my room for my non-bleeding clean wound.

Zombies seem to track you if you're bleeding even if you have a bandage on (No, it's not bloody). Is this intended?

Also, is it possible to make it so different wounds attracts zombies at different ranges? It's pretty annoying to get scratched in the middle of a town.

This mod is extremely brutal. They sniff you out in buildings, changing bandages is enough to lose... I was not able to stay in any building more than few minutes with some injuries and this mod on. I'll use lite version instead, this one is too much for me. Even escape to the woods is not enough, whey they smell you from 50 meters away... This mod is for really hardcore masochists only.. or for those who'll never get scratched :D

ANNOUNCEMENT: Thanks to everyone that has been enjoying the Danger Moodles and Danger Zone mods! I know I haven't been around as much as I was when I first put them out. I am working hard an update for my indie game. As soon as I've finished that update I will be back in full swing to fix bugs, dig through feedback for updates, and even to put out some fresh new mods! For me the directory is
C:\Games\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\108600\2705076474\mods\DangerZone_ScentOfBlood\media\lua\client
open the file there with a text editor and change every instance of "player:DoFootstepSound(50)" to your desired number. If you have something like Notepadd++ it should be easy to do.
The lite version is set to 5 I believe so you want something like 25 I guess.

@Redrum - I went ahead and posted Danger Moodles (Scent of Blood (Lite Version)) because it was really quick and easy to do. There have been a handful of people like yourself asking about reducing the range. One person knew how to do it themselves but I know that's not true for everyone and I don't know how long it will take to get a good options thing going so in honor of your feedback I just went ahead and did it.

@Redrum - Yes, they can track you even when standing still. I'm still working on getting a reliable options thing set up that can be changed in-game and not mess up multiplayer servers that want to keep the option where they want it. If push comes to shove, that's a good idea about releasing a "light" version.

(edit: mod load order need to be CZ, FTS, SoB). Did a run with CZ, SoB, FTS in solo and was like "Hmm, not like last night". Tried again the prior way, theeeere we go. Zombies come hunting for the blood. Then I went god mode/invis, and few seconds later they went back to trying to get inside.

So like in my earlier comments, I tested this on a new (MP hosted) world, amidst 138 mods, but the ones in question being Customizable Zombies, Scent of Blood, and Fear The Sun.

I can confirm that these mods appear to work fine together. I set them in the first (top -> down) order for the mods just in case, and in our run at Louisville we periodically ran into sprinters (15%) - though it was distributed during day AND night as expected, so docile zombies in the day had a chance to become speed demons. But indoor -> outdoor from FTS worked fine, as did CZ. I got bleeding once by accident, and forgot about this mod. About 20 seconds later, 2 zombies on the door became 11 zombies on the door, and docile on the way back chased me from better detection/vision.

Though, I've experienced lag like never before (frequent sizeable stutters, and lag every time I hit a zombie). Unsure if it's related to FTS & Scent of Blood though. I know I shouldn't be lagging this much even in Louisville.

ok so i have come to the conclusion that either changing the setting didnt work or because zombies can are randomly given stats that even with reduced range all the zombies that ended up with good or pinpoint hearing can still hear the "bleed" from off screen i had a dirty bandage and the setting was at 8 and zeds were pouring in from really far lol
