Hey there, just to let you know that one of the halls of masters has clipping issues with Apotheosis. The specific location is the one next to the Tower. Apotheosis has moved a possible 'Friend' spawn location there that cuts through the top of the hall of masters

Hey I just wanted to say this is probably the best mod for the game. As someone who was really shit at alchemy from EA day 1, this has helped me learn recipes faster while also getting rewarded. Thanks!

Thanks, I appreciate it. None of my mods have the journal in their descriptions, but it's there! Looks like it would be a great companion to your mod. Apparently certain recipes open up as you discover them. It's for the random liquid potions, not the two core recipes.

My game has an alchemy journal as a pick-uppable item. Is that part of this mod? I don't see it described. I'm trying to figure out how it works...

Another player and I didn't realize there were signs in the hall of records since they're invisible and kind of blend into the brickwork totem above them, which we thought was the only thing distinguishing complete/incomplete. If possible, it would be nice if a lectern or engraving or something could appear on completed ones.

Frankly, I got this mod with only the intent of finding the spawns in the natural path. Imagine my surprise when I started finding more and more unique stuff going on with it.
You have a few questions both posed in world and here, I personally think, unless you're gonna make them not spawn in parallel worlds, that there isn't much point in reducing the number of them! Any sophisticated player will be able to navigate and find them whenever they might want if they already know where one is (assuming set spawns) and that'd go for parallel worlds as well.
With that said, the material amount is quite high. However, with my relative lack of expertise in alchemy (in game, and in real life ;-;) I don't know if this really matters 'unless' someone got a lucky Alchemical Precursor or Lively Concoction recipe.

One of the hall of Masters has been impacted by the new sky islands in the latest Noita Beta (25-Mar-24). Only the Lowest portion of the hall is generated. The other Halls seem to have generated just fine (conducted a map capture pass) I haven't taken time to test any puzzles or remote labs yet. https://i.imgur.com/4Zs7b5x.png

Suck meaning didn't activate? I've occasionally seen some weirdness with how the game spawns things in, especially if two labs spawn so close that they trigger each other.

I was thinking like a painting of a chest, where the chest became real and left the empty painting behind. I could perhaps try to make the frame bit fancier. In fact if the square is disappearing, it's probably a z-ordering bug. Which lab were were seeing it in?
I tend to forget discussions are there, but it might be helpful for tracking replies and followup for specific things.

The puzzles look good, and fit the vanilla style, it makes sense Ylialkemisti would fill the mountains with these.:Blessing:
--The Square around the reward chest does not always trigger/dissapear.
(Would it be an idea to have bugreports in the discussions tab so as to not fill the comments with it?)

Thanks for the feedback, I'm pretty blind as to how approachable things are. Noita is a game of mystery and secrets, so I'm okay with the upper end of the progression not being immediately obvious. I do have one report of someone finding a purpose here. Pay attention as you find new labs, and perhaps you'll find one too. Meanwhile, I appreciate the reports to judge how well it is working.

Randomly ran into a hall of masters while returning from the cloudscape without knowing what it was at first. I'll be honest I don't even know where to begin with any of it, obscene access to materials but I didn't see any real hints at what to do with the myriad basins. I don't mean to be entirely negative, I do find the area interesting and I've often wished for a kammi-like item that summons a cauldron so access to the mixing basins is welcome.

@LittleEvo I haven't been focusing on mod compatibility yet, but I appreciate pointers on what to look into. Hall of Apprentices is supposed to be below the map, but perhaps another mod could put something there, if it spawns it should have a portal. Hall of Masters should have a failsafe return portal even if it fails to spawn. I may need your complete mod list to figure out what happened.

ignore that last comment, but it seems like there are some portal cube things (???) that lead u to a hall of apprentices in the desert that doesn't have a portal, and its in an endless purgatory of biomes that infinitely generates. this cannot be inentional, right?

the mod seems incompatible with fluid dynamics. doing the puzzle correctly doesnt spawn the chest. looking for a second perspective on this.

Really good mod, its fun to still learn stuff about this game after all this time. And its made even better with the reactions expansion. I found the default settings to have them a bit too common, but found setting the sliders to 30/20 was good.
One question though, I have no idea where the Hall of Records is, or how to find it. Any hints?

This sounds amazing. I haven't used it just yet, but alchemy is something that is strangely hard to achieve in a game about an "alchemist." Really looking forward to encountering these, thanks!

I looked at arcane alchemy, and pretty much everything was mechanics, other than a plastic making series. I hadn't seen fluid dynamics yet. I haven't tried alternate biomes, but in theory remote lab portals should be able to appear in unknown biomes.

I know things can get weird with Anvil of Destiny, which tries to be clever about it's chances. Load order helps, I believe Anvil should be higher in the list; otherwise it goes overboard trying to top the new scenes. I'll have to look into Rare Scenes to see how it works.

Is this compatible with Make Rare Scenes Common? It modifies the chances for already existing landmarks to spawn while this one adds entirely new ones, so I'm not sure how that would work.

Admittedly the rewards can be kind of underwhelming in late game. It's a tough problem since the mods primary purpose isn't to make you more powerful; it's already adding lots of potions and extra chests (somewhat balanced by what would have been there if the mod wasn't running) I'm considering having the remote rooms sometimes be Hall of Masters, where a multi-step process offers a higher reward.

Have an alchemy room in every checkpoint. So we don't have to scavenge maps for them. But can instead always find them in the checkpoints.

For one I didn't really want to get into custom materials. Void liquid goes through things, and if the experiment didn't work that way it might lead to wrong impressions. Maybe if the magic cauldron material glowed or something to show it was special, but I'd rather not.

You don't have to use wood or box2d.
You can just make a new kind of temple brick with density 15 or something.
Forgot that the mushrooms could be broken for fungus blood. So my b.
For the Diamonds... it's ok ig. Still a bit rough imo, but idk any decent way to make it much better.

I can usually get void to detect if the materials are ordered right. I also found that wood does contain it, though I hesitate to use that more due to fire risks.

Fungi creeping should provide a mushroom garden. I set this one up based on a friend's report of making fungus near the desert edge, with shrooms from the hills area.

For the powder mixing ones, I often need to do few pickup and refill cycles. After a cycle or two, it's mostly the target material, and you can pour out the mixed, leaving a mostly pure bag that I put into the other cauldron. I do wonder if there should be some variation in reward for those, but I'd have to start making custom chests or come up with something else; it's hard to find something appropriate at different stages of the game though.

This is actually a really neat idea! LoZ style puzzles involving a not-so-commonly utilized mechanic in this game. Bravo man!
