Death Knell was one of my favourite mods of all time being one of the few to add true special infected for this but has not been updated in a long time, if you could do something similar could be really popular lol

@Sethos The mod checks the zombietype and if it is in the list it has a chance to be upgraded to a sprinter. It dont know if it can change the skin textures of a zombie, but I assume its possible to change its outfit, as I think Authentic Z does it based on type also (or a "full outfit" like some special zombie type mods like Death Knell Day).

@Gex I do not know how to sound mod for zomboid. But I think a mod that changes default zombie noises would work, as sprinters have unique sounds now in b42. They might be in the same file package though.

Amazing mod really makes an interesting difference to the game, always wanted something like this to make certain zombies or areas different

I was wondering how you could specify certain zombies to change for this and if a similar method could be used to give zombies affected by these specific skins or outfits that make an overall skin change?

you can make slow zeds not produce a classic sound, but only faint breathing and footsteps. ?? and the classic sound is only at the moment of the attack, then it would make them dangerous, as they could sneak up unnoticed and make them listen to various creaks and noises.

I play with random zombies mod with sprinters set to 0%, and this mod overrides it and adds sprinters with the right professions. I would expect it to be the same with Random Zombies - Day and Night.

I think slower sprinters will work, as it directly changes the animations, but I don't know for sure. I don't know if this mod specifically gives a performance hit. With local hosting I still get +60 fps but I usually play with 200+ other mods on :winter2019joyfultearsdog:

I play it with my friends and its still working with the new experimental patch. I have not noticed anything buggy, and have not had the errors mentioned by others show up in my own logs (might be mod conflicts?)

Hey there! Really liking this mod! Quick question, does the mod settings affect the existing zombies in the world? Or does the settings only apply to the zombies that spawn after the mod has been enabled?

I would recommend playing with default fast shamblers. Alternatively mixing slow shamblers & fast shamblers with customizable zombies mod, with sprinters set to 0%. Let this mod be in charge of adding the sprinters if you use it.

I would leave this mods sandbox settings as default.

I assume the slower sprinters mod will still work with this one, so its up to you if you want to alter the sprinters speed.

We currently play with the Slower Sprinters mod with the zombie settings at Random. What is the recommended setting for this mod and should we remove Slower Sprinters?
