Low priority, but there is an ice stack sorting behaviour that seems a bit OCD. This occurs when there are multiple stockpiles of ice, especially upon re-loading a game. Relevant mods may be: Pick Up And Haul, and Please Haul Perishables (Continued). Pawns are grabbing "melting" ice e.g. decayed to "93/100" and appear to be ordering it into separate stacks or hiding it under unmelted ice. Usually a storm of pawns are simultaneously doing this maybe at cross purposes.

Another low priority: It is possible to ice-chill a room into -10 ranges by building a tiny iced antichamber/foyer to a larger room also packed with ice. That's actually useful for ruining eggs, and so niche I vote to leave it. Of course real-world ice can be colder than zero Celsius.
Pong 6 Dec, 2024 @ 9:50pm
Looking forward to a non-cheaty means of creating water tiles. Artificial Water Place does this, but it seems Water Freezes reverts the changes.

Moo. Updoots coming soon (thanks to Mlie for keeping things up while I was unavailable/inactive!)
Nothingness_1w3 2 Jul, 2024 @ 1:32am
Celsius works fine, your freezers not working sounds like a you problem
Mlie 29 Jun, 2024 @ 11:19am
tanyfilina 21 Jun, 2024 @ 9:22am
And anyway, this function in Celsius is horrible for performance
Jet 15 Jun, 2024 @ 12:11am
celsius also makes it near impossible to create a freezer. even on a temperate map with multiple freezers. only creates low temps for the tiles immediately surrounding the building, one cooler, operating at max efficiency gets you 2-4 tiles of refridgeration at best
ShyGuySpirit 17 May, 2024 @ 9:34am
Yea, I just found out that Celsius does that. I won't be needed this now.
lol 12 May, 2024 @ 5:30am
Celsius makes water freeze as well as provides an overall temperature system overhaul
soldierx32 5 May, 2024 @ 1:23pm
This mod is pretty cool, however it causes serious lag in maps with lots of water, as well as breaking moisture pumps, forcing you to go into dev mode to reset the already converted tiles of the pump into land.
Jiopaba 2 May, 2024 @ 1:29pm
@Pong What the heck is "decayed" or "melting" ice? When ice melts, it just disappears from the stockpile. There's no such thing as half-melted ice. If you stack up 50 ice on the floor, then as it melts you will eventually have 49, then 48, and so on ice. Replenishing it just means getting more ice and filling the stockpile up again.

Same question!
泡泡茶壶 18 Apr, 2024 @ 8:37am
1.5 ?
ShyGuySpirit 16 Apr, 2024 @ 1:07pm
This is an interesting mod concept. I wonder if it works with "Dynamic Flooding." Guess I'll test it out if they both get updated to 1.5.
Pong 22 Mar, 2024 @ 4:56pm
Using this with Soil Relocation, to chill my primitive freezer with ice blocks. Nice! But how in tarnation does one replace the "melting"/decayed ice with fresh "solid" ice? I've set ice stockpiles to discard decayed ice but it seems stacks of ice decay at random as pawns shuffle them between stockpiles.
ferny 18 Mar, 2024 @ 5:30pm
Yeah its breaking wth moisture pumps
THE WIZARD 16 Mar, 2024 @ 6:10pm
For those looking to terraform water with Dev Mode using this mod... it's an ordeal.

1) "Set water/ice depth to zero".
2) "Clear natural water status".
3) "Set terrain".

Then it should work. Make sure you're paused the whole time, or the natural water status will make the water reappear again.
Succubus 2 Mar, 2024 @ 8:42am
this mod is causing a huge lag, 4s to tick is a hell
Kalter Stahl 25 Feb, 2024 @ 10:52am
Otherwise I love the mod! Mods like these are really nice since NPS hits so many conflicts for me.
Kalter Stahl 25 Feb, 2024 @ 10:50am
Hmm I feel like the water is deleting infested ship chunks... also seems like you gotta use "clear natural water status" from the dev menu if you want to change the ground terrain in any way, otherwise it reverts back.
Planetace 20 Jan, 2024 @ 2:11pm
Adding to this, even moisture pumps dont work - Do not use this mod, Its broken.
Giggles 16 Dec, 2023 @ 7:11pm
Clearing Natural Water commands seem to no longer work, and this mod is soft incompat with Map Designer.
BOXIUMPL 13 Dec, 2023 @ 7:14am
Would adding this mod to an Ice Sheet playthrough brake the map and make it unplayable?
Jonuss 12 Nov, 2023 @ 1:31am
In addition to the issue of this mod not playing nicely with non-vanilla bridge mods, particularly when the state of water would change from solid to liquid, it was also responsible for an issue where rooms built over water would flash as though highlighted. Absolutely weird bug, nothing in the logs, but only the removal of this mod caused it to go away.
Darkdarkar 16 Sep, 2023 @ 6:17pm
tried removing the mod due to it tanking my framerate. Apparently some remnants stick around and water still freezes for some reason. I think the function is still floating around somewhere as in the tweak menu, a reference to the job is still present
HIM🐀 28 Aug, 2023 @ 12:29pm
such a cool mod, man
epic 19 Aug, 2023 @ 9:56pm
mod is super buggy, cant fill in the water and clearing natural water status doesnt work properly, i use it and then it just reverts back to being water again
Eclipse 2 Aug, 2023 @ 4:59pm
visual glitch. When water melts, it sometimes leaves behind an ice rectangle in the middle of the water. It acts as water, just with the appearance of a block of ice

Amnaa 2 Jul, 2023 @ 2:20pm
Impossible to remove shallow water with moisture pumps - even with dev mode.

Malnormalulo 5 Jun, 2023 @ 4:54am
Minor compatibility issue: Vanilla Fishing Expanded fishing zones continue to work when the water freezes, but new zones cannot be placed. To my mind it makes sense to be able to fish on ice – granted, theoretically it should require a hole drilled in the ice, but that's definitely much more complicated, so being able to just place new zones would be nice.
William de Burge 18 May, 2023 @ 2:18pm
I am having a compatibility problem with Fertile Fields and changing water to soil. The Compatibility section above says to remove the "Natural" tag from the water to change it, but doing so doesn't work.
Nameless 11 May, 2023 @ 2:02pm
In addition, when I hoover mouse pointer above this are it shows: 'Natural Water', 'Water Depth', 'Soil' simultaneously
Nameless 11 May, 2023 @ 1:58pm
Dear @UdderlyEvelyn ,
I hope this request for help finds you well!

I have an issue with moisture pumps.
The area that was turned from water/marsh to dry soil by the moisture pump momentarily turns back into water/marsh after changing scale (generally, when you have bird's eye view).
And then when you scroll closer it turns to dry soil again.
This seems to be resolved when I remove this mod.
Can you please have a look at that?

Many thanks!

Hello, can you add translation keys for ''natural water ''depth'' and other please ?

Ice deletes VE tidal generators from existence when they touch lol
Smiley Face Killer 6 Apr, 2023 @ 2:34pm
This is one of my all time must use mods, honestly pairs perfectly with Mlies some things float mod. In winter obviously nothing floats down stream, but in spring and summer things do. Such a neat mechanic to the game
Gold Battle Moose 5 Apr, 2023 @ 2:24pm
Love the mod but the issues with Moisture Pumps made me uninstall hope you fix it at some point. Cheers!
<'##>< 3 Apr, 2023 @ 6:22am
@Jim I don't have the game up now, but you can fix that with the options in dev mode: there's a section there for Water Freezes with buttons that let you change the tile status permanently. You use them in conjunction with vanilla game's "Set Terrain." If I remember correctly, the way you can tell is when you hover over those tiles after modifying them, the description on the lower left of the screen tells you they're no longer water tiles (whereas if you don't use the Water Freezes dev mode buttons, I think it still shows water depth even after you've used "Set Terrain" on them).
Jim 3 Apr, 2023 @ 6:00am
This mod is great but doesn't play well with terraforming water. Have tried every approach I can see around changing natural water status and depth of tiles yet still have issues with tiles reverting to original map grid status. My current map only has sub zero on a cold snap, so I guess I'll revisit in the future. Only a real issue if terraforming water.
Yinyang107 26 Feb, 2023 @ 8:54pm
The ice destroyed my concrete bridge :(
toradrow777 21 Feb, 2023 @ 1:05am
Is this compatible with Vanilla Plants Expanded - More Plants?
Maya 13 Feb, 2023 @ 12:23am
Would be nice if digging up ice didnt require the soil relocation framework, or if there was an ice only version since the soils can be annoying to deal with and might be part of why I was getting weird colony wealth values.

Pretty sure I'm hitting the same problem as ShadeMonger04. I have a save that I'm playing on the last 1.3 build of Rimworld. No matter what I do in regard to load order, uninstall, removal of old config files, reinitializing the map component via dev (also tried this before uninstall -> creating a new save w/o the mod -> reinstall) its seems like the functionality of this mod is completely broken. Water won't freeze. I've also tried using the current and previous repository version of the mod from Github. No dice.
