The signage started when we had the Operation Starwatch competition https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2459532931
I wanted to put in some Blade Runner homage (note the 44 on the police ship). So in this line of thought I wanted scan lines for my screens. While I was working on one of the screens I screwed up the <line-height> tag by giving it an extra digit or something. It pushed the signage off the screen, which surprised me. So I thought I could use that for a "feature".
When I built this ship, I wanted to do the same but make the UI feel more sci-fi. I spent a ton of tim e trying to get all that straight. I am not a coder and I am sure my code is not efficient at all. But I think it came out well enough :)
i think this ship could be use in any scifi game
I have been working on a dry dock that has gravity within the construction area. If a starter block is not implemented, the ship falls down in space while inside the dry dock. Simplest solution for me was to include the starting block inside the build.
If you want to remove the starting block, it is located behind the left sliding access panel in the hallway (if you are facing the front of the ship). There are only two hallway access panels so it should be easy enough to find. (located in the high greeble area of the hallway towards the back of the ship).
Yes it make the game lags a bit, I need to optimize the collision engine, I will use this ship to do so.
Rendering was somewhat okay except for shadow as it is always the case on ship with many bricks (I also need to do something about that)
Interior in on another level. Each room as its own very distinctive feel and so much personality...
Favs are the storage bay, the service one, the cockpit with of course those seats, the cultivation room with the pods and the trolley, the medbay, the holomap table, well pretty much everything except for the toilet seat ^^.
Absolute masterpiece mate...
• commche - ty sir, high praise. You find the entry ramp for ground entry?
• sebateses - you were the last one in there
• Reilly "Sharky" Reese [BOOTS] - ty sir! and ty for the performance comment. Prefabs? I dont see any stinking prefabs!
• kadzartathram - I am happy its addressed as well :)
• kynamats - cohesive and natural...I like that. ty! (and ty for the inspiration you feed me)
As for performance, 1070ti 60FPS locked. Genuinely not sure if there's a cap unlock in the settings yet lol.
Also you're totally holding out on us with prefabs. :P
Thanks Tiki. Hope it can inspire as the communities builds inspire me.
Lol, thanks Uncle Ulty, you are too funny
If I could suggest any improvement, maybe slow down the blinking of the lights in the server room. As it is, it almost feels like a seizure hazard.
