@stoutcrow I think it should, because I haven't read about any update that changes something that is related to the file this mod edits. But I haven't tested it for a while. If you have issues while using this mod, tell me and I'll test it.

does this still work?
PhazezGova 30 Dec, 2022 @ 1:29pm
Oh, I really subscribed to that last one. I had overlooked that, thank you for the tip :)
Istvan Ivan  [author] 28 Dec, 2022 @ 10:14am
@PhazezGove well it still changes the way AI courts choose there court language. I don't think the game devs did change anything regarding that, so if you play with royal courts for dukes/counts/tribal and you don't use another fix you can still use it, if you use another fix (e. g. the one I linked in the description) you probably don't need this one.

Is the mod still needed at all?
RayRay6Feet6Inches 13 Apr, 2022 @ 10:45am
Thank you sir! I'll do that.
Istvan Ivan  [author] 13 Apr, 2022 @ 3:03am
@RayRay6Feet6Inches I think you got to load this mod after them (put this below them)
RayRay6Feet6Inches 12 Apr, 2022 @ 9:45am
I noticed some court mods have added their own fixes but, I would prefer to use your fix... So what would the load order be to override theirs with your mod?
Istvan Ivan  [author] 24 Mar, 2022 @ 10:07am
@Cleric should be fixed, it's just what happens if you forget one "}" in code
Cleric 23 Mar, 2022 @ 4:24pm
Error: "else/else_if following something other than if/else: multiply, near line: 229

Error: "else/else_if following something other than if/else: subtract, near line: 237

Error: "else/else_if following something other than if/else: subtract, near line: 246
" in file: "common/script_values/test.txt" near line: 246

saw this checking logs, not sure you need those lines anyway, couldn't you change the previous two values?
WillRiker 18 Mar, 2022 @ 11:43am
Thanks for this mod! It works with other mods and 100Year samegame, AI changes court language after some years back from arabic.
Cleric 18 Mar, 2022 @ 11:30am
You've done it. Thank you!
Wolves in the Throne Room 17 Mar, 2022 @ 10:19am
@Azran I had a campaign I was really enjoying and when I noticed 85% of the map was speaking Arabic and I paused the game and switched characters and had them choose their native language again. Some I couldn't do because they recently had changed, but that should help give you a good start point for this mod.
Istvan Ivan  [author] 17 Mar, 2022 @ 4:35am
@Azraan the mod I linked now should take effect immediatly as well (besides the change court language cooldown that will prevent the AI to change their court language for 5 years after last change) and that one should revert the arabic spreading on its own
Istvan Ivan  [author] 17 Mar, 2022 @ 3:15am
@Azraan I think it does affect it but I don't know if it will revert the arabic spreading on its own. Maybe you can "rescue" the save by manually changing the court language of some courts back to their own (change leader, select their native language, if they don't have enought prestige add give them some through cheat console)
Fangvyr 16 Mar, 2022 @ 6:34pm
Will this happen to affect a game already in progress? I came looking for this because 90% of the map chose Arabic as their court language.
Wolves in the Throne Room 16 Mar, 2022 @ 3:50pm
No worries, the mod really makes a difference
Istvan Ivan  [author] 16 Mar, 2022 @ 11:00am
@Wolves_in_the_Throne_Room I'm currently trying to find out which modifiers/rules or similar I can mod for the ai's language choice, but it will take some time cause I have some other stuff on my plate.
Wolves in the Throne Room 15 Mar, 2022 @ 10:35pm
Could you add a modifier that encourages using their native language and only changing to one in their language family and only if it is spoken nearby?
Thanks for this mod!
Istvan Ivan  [author] 12 Mar, 2022 @ 10:41am
@Ēarendel there are some mods that activate courts for dukes/counts that provide some fix on their own, if you use one of those you'll probably don't need this one
Ēarendel 11 Mar, 2022 @ 10:05am
Is this mod still relevant?
FunGaming44 21 Feb, 2022 @ 5:29am
well if you find the time for it then please, I dont have any experience in game rule modding either lol
Istvan Ivan  [author] 21 Feb, 2022 @ 5:13am
I'm pretty sure it should be possible, if nobody tried it, I might have a look at it in 2 weeks or so, but I haven't tried game rule modding, maybe you should ask the creators of the "some game rules" or "more game rules" mods.
FunGaming44 21 Feb, 2022 @ 4:07am
Do you think a game rule could be made so we could choose for the AI never to change languages ?? Just an idea that could be usefull. Same goes for maybe a game rule that stops the AI from changing traditions.
Istvan Ivan  [author] 19 Feb, 2022 @ 10:48am
probably not, but I haven't tested it
FunGaming44 19 Feb, 2022 @ 10:17am
hey is your mod still needed when using https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2756269656 that one does it differently just wondering if both are needed
Istvan Ivan  [author] 13 Feb, 2022 @ 6:20am
thanks :happy_yeti:
FunGaming44 13 Feb, 2022 @ 5:08am
Great to know, good work
Istvan Ivan  [author] 13 Feb, 2022 @ 3:31am
@FunGaming44 more or less, it also adjusts the ai values for choosing another court language, probably in another way (haven't looked into the values that mod uses)
Istvan Ivan  [author] 13 Feb, 2022 @ 3:28am
@Knight ok I'm sorry it doesn't work for you, hope you find a mod that works better for you. I won't be able to test and balance it for the next two weeks, so if you haven't found something else until then, you can check here again, maybe I find a solution then.
FunGaming44 12 Feb, 2022 @ 5:17pm
Is this pretty much what this mod does https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2749342104 ? Only that one is just for dukes I think
Oli_G 12 Feb, 2022 @ 4:50pm
Now England is Italian, Ireland is still Saxon, and Iceland is Brythonic
Oli_G 12 Feb, 2022 @ 4:42pm
@Stephanos, Trying it again-
Istvan Ivan  [author] 12 Feb, 2022 @ 3:11pm
I made some adjustments. @Knight I hope you get better results now if you try again.
Istvan Ivan  [author] 12 Feb, 2022 @ 2:12pm
btw I don't think I can eliminate all of the weird choices (at least with my modding skills atm), but I think it at least eliminate this converting huge areas, and it often (at least in my tests) even converts back to a language that makes some sence
Istvan Ivan  [author] 12 Feb, 2022 @ 1:46pm
it might disappear there again though (but the decision of changing court language has 5 year cooldown). But I'll run some more test today, since I won't have the time in the next weeks
Oli_G 12 Feb, 2022 @ 1:27pm
Damn. 7 years in and Kent is Georgian, Norway Goidelic, and Ireland Saxon.
Oli_G 12 Feb, 2022 @ 1:20pm
Tryin this out now..
